I'm a Professor and I asked my students to send me memes as part of their diagnostic - this is the result

Trying to keep you ad free.

I teach three classes at two different colleges.

I'll write a description later.

One of my classes is a Tech Writing class - Can you guess which ones came from that one?

lol!

Ignore all watermarks.

No ads.

Is this class appropriate? I don't even care! I lol'd!

This is awesome!

Can you lick the science?

Only slightly exaggerating.

Give back pens if you borrow them!

Makes me question everything too…

It's the first day; we're not doing anything.

I am the one who teaches!

English, motherfucker, do you teach it!?

lol!

At least you don't have to deal with ads…

Why would you wear glasses for "fashion"?

Don't get this one.

Full disclosure, I don't assign seats. I don't think any professor does. Students just tend to sit in the same spots.

Mmm, pizza…

I just like this one.

CAN'T USE PREVIOUS PASSWORD!

Two chemists walk into a bar…

One orders H2O…

The other one says, I'll have an H2O too.

The bartender, who understands syntax, gives them both glasses of water.

This one's my favorite!

Please, don't let this happen in group projects…

Nani!?

Do your homework!

I got this from a couple of students.

"Everyone share something unique about yourself."

It's not about how you start; it's how you finish.

*Boof*

They can land a man on the moon…

It's on!

That's all folks!

A mechanical engineer that can't do mechanic work is kinda useless, pick up a god damn wrench. Most engies I know do.

#3 yeah the wisdom would be knowing you should have done it sooner xD

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Having my routines changed unexpectedly triggers my anxiety & it honestly fucked up my whole day when someone sat in *my* seat in class.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Can confirm, have kissed masonry

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#15 so you’re telling us that engineering gives you cancer?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe you get it from kissing the science?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Laughed at a few of these, but some were just terrible

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but you have to figure that they are coming from engineering students.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But I'm an ECE student and my meme selection is so much better. Darker, but better IMO

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Students absolutely sit in the same spots and when some kid who never shows up actually does show up he ruins everything for everyone

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

just for the record i scrolled this knowing i have a test due in an hour

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My tech comm prof was good because he realized us engineers hate writing

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Duly noted! I'm trying to push it toward more practical uses of writing in real world situations and micro-skills (grammar, etc.)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How the fuck you spend $70/month for contacts?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Procrastination is just self-training in time management.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

as a practicing civil engineer... TECHNICAL WRITING IS SO IMPORTANT!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Check Dresden Optics: Australia, Canada and New Zealand. I just paid $99.00 for lenses and frames and that’s with the super ground down

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lenses. Plus they did the order online, frames are made out of recycled plastic so you get to save the planet. I supplied the prescription

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

https://dresden.com.au/locations/ most glasses go $50.00 if you don’t need ground down lenses. One style only, many colours, mix and match.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unspoken assigned seats can suck sometimes. Like I just wanna sit next to the cute boy in my class but thats somebodys unassigned seat

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You sit next to that cute boy!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ill try my best!!!!! Just gotta somehow do it casually ?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Zennioptical.com. And they even do "extra thin" lenses that no other place can, for us special snowflakes that need telescopes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This dump was okay but, but I think you can do better. Luckily the semester is 4 months long :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My daughter used to wear clear glasses at school on top of her head because the dress code wouldn't let the girls wear headbands.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

These memes are pretty tame for college kids. You must be a hard ass

8 years ago | Likes 112 Dislikes 2

Well, I did ask for them to be classroom appropriate.

8 years ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 3

Well, your favorites are certainly not!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm a simple man. I like sexy women and cute animals.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hard ass

8 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 1

Why would you do that though... had a real opportunity to learn their interests and sense of humor. And to get some dank memes

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

I just didn't want to deal with suicide memes and have to get student services involved.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I guess I can respect that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm with this guy. Then you pair that up with incoming assignments and see if you can see their humor in their work

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Do you only teach Tech writing classes, @OP?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One Tech Writing, two Freshman Comp.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The drake keke one are both lyrics from drake songs

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Mabed is drakes kid fyi

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It’s not particularly funny even if you get it

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I still don't get it

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

#10 ??????!!!! ?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If you're a Mechanical Engineer but you can't do basic mechanic work then you should just stick to the math only.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 7

Tool brand comparison and application is learned through experience.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a mechanic that regularly deals with MEs: the gulf between theory and practice is very wide and no we’re not installing that rheostat

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

amen to that. that is why i am a Machinist rn. So i can be the best possible engineer later on. i already have grease monkey XP. soo..yeah.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hold up. What'd they want a rheostat installed ON? I mean, if it's a dimmer, then sure. If it's a jet engine throttle, mayyybe not.

But witches weigh the same as ducks

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think you mean "A duct! Or a switch, whichever weighs more."

No definitely a witch. Kiss a witch.

If you can't send messages on imgur, let me know what you'd want to use to talk and I'll post a way to reach me there.

Re glasses one: Prescription glasses are about $20 through zenni optical. It's pretty awesome.

8 years ago | Likes 186 Dislikes 2

Zenni wasmy go to until I gifted myself with lasik. After 30 years of wearing glasses or contacts. Monovision for the win.

I'm thinking about getting it in a couple years, but if anything went wrong I'd lose my career, and that really scares me

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Zenni has been outfitting my family with glasses for years. I even get my fancy progressives for under $150!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Holy shit.... thank you so much.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also eyebuydirect.com i have about 12 pairs from them,all under $20 each.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I constantly have to replace my sons glasses so I just buy them in bulk from eyebuydirect.com. So far this year I’ve bought 15 pairs.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know what else is awesome? Seeing for free

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I hate zenni. Can't try on anything. That $20 is only if you're lucky enough to need aldershot vision lenses, too. All the affordable online

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Places are identical. Garbage.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

I have pretty extensive glasses needs and I still got them from zenni for around $45. Also read reviews and use sizing charts.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Upload a photo and adjust as per the directions. It’s not the same as in person but we’ve had good luck with it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or just have a decent idea of what actually suits your face and clothing style.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I need to remember this.. I paid $90 JUST for my frame last time, so I'd get a frame that didn't give me headaches.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love Zenni. My high prescription and prism kick mine up to a minimum of $50 but that's still a lot better than $400.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What...I do need a backup pair...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Optical Dispenser here: Online websites are good if you have a low to medium prescription, but if you need multifocal/progressives or... 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you have a high prescription (above +/- 4.00), get it done professionally. It will always be better unless you get super lucky.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As of last exam, my eyes were -10.50/-1.00/29 and -9.25/-1.00/161. Never had an issue with Zenni in the last 10 years.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Glad to hear! Out of curiosity, do you typically choose vertically short frames? Or do you wear larger styles?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Short, yeah. Wish I could wear aviators for that sweet, sweet peripheral vision but they look goofy on me & require higher-index lenses too.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where the fuck is this magical place to get cheap glasses?

8 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I bought my prescription glasses for less than $15 at eyebuydirect.com

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's a website. You have to get the eye exam elsewhere. Once you know your prescription it's https://www.zennioptical.com/

Thank you! But how do you know if they'll look good on your face?

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

You can upload a photo to get a good idea, but otherwise you have to guess

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can upload a picture of yourself and they have a generator that poorly places the glasses on your face. But it's enough

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

There's a feature on the site, unless they removed it, where you can upload a pic of your face and it will superimpose the glasses on it.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

The preview feature they have isn't great, but for $20, you can afford to take a chance

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Ask a friend's opinion, photoshop, or imagine them on you? Find one you like at a shop and find a similar one online?
