#42 - Little girl crying because she received a new puppy.
Don't worry kiddo... you'll be crying like that when he passes as well. I'm 54, I lost my dog after only 7 years and my life is shattered. I only feel 3 things in the few weeks he's been gone... either complete sadness, sometimes anger, and most of the time absolutely nothing. I care for nothing anymore. Therapy hasn't helped and I often just sit and stare into the abyss. I'm sorry little girl, enjoy your pup while you can.

#34 Minnesota is apparently the only state Reagan didn't win, so... evaluate yourself. They'll be feeding children and whipping shitties and not caring what you think.

#12 what's the last part he says? while being suspiciously........
ShadaxSR
I got "while being suspicious of" and then couldn't make it out. Hopefully someone here can help.
Byroz
"..all the while being suspicious of anything foreign" is the end part.

#1 Jeeze guys Jolene is a METAPHOR for confidence issues.
PickleForBreakfast
Not really. She said there was a period when she was on tour so much her relationship started to suffer and while Jolene is a fake name, there was another woman getting a bit too friendly with her man.
Misora
Well and also cheating is about the character of the cheater, not the cheated on. You can be the most loving gorgeous supportive partner in the world and a cheater will cheat on you. It's not about the other person being better than you, it's about the power of something never being enough.
Vendura
Nah Dolly described her as a hot Redhead working as a bank clerk.

I want a version of the song where the singer realizes halfway through Jolene isn't after her MAN and begins a steady descent into gay panic
Bunnies007
Physically, she was based on a bank teller who obviously found Parton's husband very attractive. The name Jolene was borrowed from a young fan she met at one of her shows. That is all. As you were.
purelypenguin
To expand upon "young" - it was a child. I also didn't know about the bank teller part, so now I can listen to the song with more than just "Jolene was a child" in my head lol Thank you, friendly internet stranger!
Bunnies007
You're welcome. My job here is done.
NarratesTheDarkerStory
Jolene? You mean Agatha? Nice try. Guys I think this one is Agatha.
johnxbear
Metaphorically does Jolene got big tiddies?
Horus175
She was a redhead. "Her beauty was beyond compare. With flaming locks of Auburn hair. With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green."
FacelessAce
Metaphorically yes. Bigger than Dolly's. Because of the metaphor.
CrossEyedPigeonToed
Or the implication?
