That's amazing, I'm just worried it'll go flying off the plate.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me as a kid is so jealous of this birthday cake. Actually me at 31 is jealous of this kids birthday cake. Where do I get this cake from?

I'm more amazed that the cake didn't fly out in a splatter due to centrifugal force...

Probably fondant, which means it tastes like ass.

4 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 4

What if I like eating ass?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Then bon appetit

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The fondant can taste like anything you want if you make it yourself - not counting failure. But yes, I too generally hate fondant.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I'm a amateur-level pastry chef, compromising taste for appearances just doesn't work for me.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah I get what you mean, but marshmallow fondant, when made correctly, is down right heavenly!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This only works for us because the camera is isolating the frames though. The kid's just gonna see a blur.

4 years ago | Likes 337 Dislikes 12

You could use a mechanical shutter to produce that blinking effect, or take it indoors and use a strobe light.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also kid: holy #%@! A spinning cake! Best day ever!

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

They're turning 2, they aren't gonna fuckin remember this anyway

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We don't care about the kid

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

that still works, it being sonic and all

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Shut one eye, quickly wave a hand with spread fingers in front of the open eye.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed, but Still nifty. Also, you could show the kid the camera. Would look like magic.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dang, the kid will see a cartoon animal whose speed is often represented as a blur . . . go fast enough to become a blur . . .

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Still cool though

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You can look at it via a filtered card or other methods

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The kid will be happy with the 2

4 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

With a strobe light, this becomes a Stroboscope, so you could actually see it in real life... though there isn't one that I can see

4 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Maybe one set up in a dark area inside

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is on a motorized plate specifically for this, which implies maybe the parents make more of them. So that's likely.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But the parent gets the Instagram likes so that's really what matters, right?

4 years ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 11

It’s pretty much the only thing that matters. Even more than the kid.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd say what REALLY matters is that kid gets to add 10 Sonic and Tails figures to his toybox.

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Any toddler would be pretty damn happy to just have a spinning cake honestly

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure the cake isn't real either... no good cake could spin at that speed and not get disintegrated.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even if it had fondant icing?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I rest my case.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The kid can also look at it through a phone.

4 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 1

Problem solver right here

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Precisely! Kind of a cool reveal for the kid.

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Tell the kid to blink quickly.

4 years ago | Likes 173 Dislikes 1

And at a constant pace. She’s got this!!!
