Yeah no, Jesus himself said the exact opposite in the book. What this post is doing is bringing up the argument of "Jesus was a liar, so that's why I'm allowed to disobey god's command to own slaves" to justify believing in evil sky daddy while being able to dismiss the most heinous acts. If they were Paulian who believed Jesus was a false prophet it'd make more sense, but you can't have your cake and eat it to? Was Jesus a liar? If not, the old testament is in place.

I'm an atheist, but this is bullshit. God said to do all of his laws forever & Jesus echoed this numerous times in the New Testament. He didn't say "the laws will stop after I'm dead", he said to do all of God's laws forever ("until heaven and earth pass away"). It's true that Jesus never directly addressed homosexuality, but by virtue of the transitive property, since Jesus directly approved of all of Mosaic law, he'd have been fine with killing gays. Leviticus says what it says.

I dont speak Hebrew so I check translations, and you are wrong. https://www.mechon-mamre.org/p/pt/pt0318.htm says "כב וְאֶת-זָכָר--לֹא תִשְׁכַּב, מִשְׁכְּבֵי אִשָּׁה: תּוֹעֵבָה, הִוא." / "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is abomination."
It's a specific rule against men boinking men.

Sexuality was not understood like it is today. The Bible says absolutely nothing against homosexuality. If you were attracted to the same sex, but were celibate, then you broke no law. What was considered sinful was men having sex with men. Jesus was cool with homies kissing. He was up for a little of that himself.

They only read the remember the parts of the Bible they want to so they can use it for their racism and hate. Ok, people mix those things up. So you have jews (Old Testament) and Christians (New one). AND THEN you have catholics. Worst of both. Technically Jesus is only for those jews who were ortodox ones (so excluding for example samaritans) but went away. In Jesus own words you can't get baptized if your ding dong wasn't snapped by rabbi.
So catholicism said "oh we just gonna pretend we follow the old rules but no all of them because Jesus". So they can eat pork - and kill you for being a girl.

Also, praying. We are told that God is omni-present, all knowing, and that things that happen are "God's will". So why then do Christians pray for good health, a happy life, or other favors? Are you saying to your God "I don't like your plan. Can you change this and that for me?" Sounds blasphemous and heretical if you ask me. The only appropriate prayer is "Thank you for this day." God sets the rules, then comes down as man to sacrifice himself for a weekend to "end" some of the rules he himself set up, all of this knowing what would happen because he is omniscient. Jesus also said he wasn't here to abolish the laws and when he said to love thy neighbor he was quoting from Leviticus 19:18. You can't just say he sacrificed himself to do away with those laws. And that's why you have thousands of Christian denominations. Everything biblical is open to interpretation.

Leviticus literally opens with how you're supposed to sacrifice your animals in the temple and how to scatter the blood on the altar properly. It will never be baffling that it's the one source for so many of the rightwingers bullshit rationalization for their hate rhetoric. It also defines the age of 'being an adult' as 13 for boys and fucking 12 for girls. It's not exactly the best place to look for modern morals.

It is also worth mentioning that the quote about homosexuality is based on a mistranslation and it is general consensus of biblical scholars that the specific rule is about young boys specifically due to pederasty that was practiced in the ancient world.

It doesn’t matter, because Leviticus isn’t relevant to modern society, but zakar (זָכָ֔ר) gets translated “male” as in “not female”. It doesn’t imply young male. Compare with Numbers 31.17: “Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known a man by sleeping with him.”
The first zakar is “זָכָ֖ר בַּטָּ֑ף” zakar betap, male of children.
The second zakar is “לְמִשְׁכַּ֥ב זָכָ֖ר“ lemishkav zakar, “in bed of male”

So I did some more reading and I think I was conflating two separate debates. The translation debate around arsenokoitai in the new testament, and the debates around the Leviticus quote which mostly is more contextual like what contemporaries thoughts around sexuality, and the purpose of the rule like if it was meant for exploration or to curb pagan practices of the time.

Leviticus 21 is about restrictions for priests tho, and leviticus 11:6 only states that rabbit meat is unclean (the rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a cloven hoof; it is unclean for you) so I'm not sure how that relates to handegg, but then I don't know much about handegg in the first place so I'm mostly curious what the relation is.
