The company is really shitty about explaining it (to the point where the FAQ is downright insulting) but it has a mechanism similar to an out-the-front spring knife where the blade is partially in the sheath and partially retracted into the handle.

From the time that I saw the first person being bullied in school I made sure that I would do everything in my power to make that person comfortable. It may not seem like a lot, but I sure as fuck didn't sit back and say, "laughing about it is all we can do". That is the most ignorant fucking thing I have ever heard. BTW I was poor, way under weight with low self esteem. I was also bullied.

I'm glad you were proactive, but I went to school before the age of school shooters. I'm at an age where making friends with high schoolers is more likely to get me on a watch list than applauded. It obviously is an issue of mental illness. I’m old enough to remember when Columbine first happened and it shocked the whole country. Guns were aplenty back then too. Something changed, and maybe it’s some cult around guns and violence, but blaming just the object is really missing the problem.

There has NEVER been a school shooting by someone that was of sound mind and body. Whether it be someone that was bullied or abused at home.
