This cannot be relate to Israel right?..right?

Hey hey the Netherlands has banned those too!

Countries should ban everything from Israel until Israel stops its Palestinian genocidal war, allowing Israeli occupiers (settlers) to steal Palestinian homes, and stop the bombing of Lebanon.

At this point does England regret creating Israel to be their military proxy in the Middle East? They should clean up their mess.

Eh, without further elaboration from the proper authorities regarding what the technical issue entails it seems highly premature to go full conspiracy theory mode.

Maybe, just maybe, stop selling them weapons paid for the us uk and eu? No one is gonna miss sardines or potato balls (specially since potato is from south america, like the continent) or water carbonation stuff.... makes more of a dent to stop weapons....

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's specifically a rule in the sanctions against selling weapons that will aid in settler violence, settlement building, or ethnic cleansing of palestinians, how it will be enforced is another matter.

ELI5: How do you ban goods from an Israeli settlement? I mean once you export the goods to Israel, can't they be sold and taken wherever?

4 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

About. Fucking. TIME.

5 days ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

Israel isn't really angry at the UK. They know how the game works. They kill thousands of brown people, The UK wags it's finger, and Israel acts insulted while receiving the next Elbit shipment. As long as the weapons keep flowing, there is no problem between them.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait until you hear about certain American states that have laws about doing business with countries that sanction Israel.

4 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's more symbolic then anything else.

Than*

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Huh, so much for Brits buying Sodastreams for Christmas.

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And the people that they charged and imprisoned for calling this shit out months or years ago? Think the UK will do anything about that? Or just hope it's all forgotten because they sent a stern letter.

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thats a much harder thing to change, Foreign policy like this is a ministerial decision and is set by the current government, the palestine action ban is an act of parliament and would require another to undo, and i don't even know what the procedure is for pardoning those arrested under the law, we don;t hand them out very often so i don't know how pardons work, and i was born here in the UK.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What goods do the Israeli settlements provide anyway? It should be done regardless. I just wonder if it’s symbolic and doesn’t actually harm Israel.

5 days ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Depends on what you call a 'settlement', one of the older ones have a big intel chip factory...

There's a BBC article where this geezer Israeli farmer is huffing and puffing about how he expects that Israel will never give up the land they've stolen and Europe is disgusting for refusing to buy his produce watered with the blood of murdered Palestinians.

Okay, neither he nor the BBC uses those exact words (aside from him calling the boycott "disgusting") but still.. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvgy6gd228vo

It at least removes one economic incentive for the murderous colonizers.

5 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Not a whole lot. Maybe some agricultural goods like dates and star fruit. Most of israel's exports come from israel proper, so this is really just a symbolic gesture.

5 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

All I can think of is the organs they stole from Palestinians they have genocided

5 days ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

The UK was putting people in jail for even talking about the genocide. I am skeptical how this will actually work. Should be ALL.

I bet those people are not suddenly getting released or otherwise cleared of terrorism charges anytime soon....

5 days ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Good. Fuck Israel

4 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yea they should rise a notch, arrest and put Keir Starmer in front of a grand jury for enabling these war crimes

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, this is such a 180 I thought I was misremembering

I wonder if the previous was due to political pressure from the US and now they’re like fuck em

5 days ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I thought it was due to their politicians that were also in the files and that could still be part of it as they've actually gone after a couple of them now

4 days ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That would also make sense yeah

IIRC those arrests had more to do with a previous law listing Palestine as an enemy of the UK. obviously it was a dumb law, but the enforcement of it seemed more to do with "its a law, so we gotta enforce it" than actual support for Israel, IMO. I dont know if that law's been changed or not. if it has, good, if not, hopefully theyre in the process of doing so

5 days ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Bullshit imo. Tons of stupid shit is law, police every damn day decide whether they enforce laws or not. They always have the power to decide not to do anything, they chose to go ahead with their arrests. No excuse.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The UK last year had a specific pro Palestine activist group labelled a terror organization. The law that allows them to designate and punish terrorism is old, but it was in 2025 that supporting that group specifically became illegal. UK police also have broad discretion to not enforce laws under common law. Also worth noting that Palestine was run by the British as recently as 1948. Britain, as it has for the past at least 25 years, went whole hog with supporting America for no real reason.

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wasn't it specifically support for Palestine Action, who had been proscribed as a terrorist group for damaging a jet or something like that?

5 days ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

That would have some logic, at least.

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Brit here, this is exactly it. Palestine Action was designated as a terrorist group after breaking into an RAF base and damaging military aircraft.

I don't believe for an instant that it should have been designated terrorism for that. Active military target, no loss of life, etc., but it was what it was. After that the govt painted themselves into a corner. We have specific laws about the support of terrorist groups that meant people were committing offences they wouldn't have been otherwise.

5 days ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Don't get me wrong, I'm against the above happening. But that was the legal route things took.

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Problem is that designated was suddenly turned on literally anyone saying something as simple as "I oppose genocide".

5 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yup. Not disagreeing there at all. It was fucking stupid.

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and Also for a general one person did something the whole collective was flaged as a terrorist. had it been a Far right person that walked into a military base and done the same thing gov would just charge that individual whit "terrorist" charge and thats it the rest of the Far right group would not be consider a terrorist.

Is the UK going to ease up on prosecuting people for criticising Israel's government too?

5 days ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 2

That would require an act of parliament to be passed.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No it wouldn't

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Amen. US will be on board as soon as we get rid of all the nazi pedos.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's never happened. You're confusing openly endorsing a designated terrorist organisation with "criticism of Israel's government".

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 43

Note to self, before stating facts make sure that it's "Imgur safe" facts.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Why are you people so insanely pathetically afraid of facts? You can call me, a Swedish Socialdemokrat, a fascist all you like but in reality they were arrested because they endorsed Palestine Action, which was designated a terrorist organisation, publicly. That's a fact, no matter how much you don't want it to be.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

no one is confusing anything, you fascist apologist cunt

It's a fact, doesn't matter how much people hate that it's a fact but it is a fact. You can disagree with Palestine Action being designated a terrorist organisation, and I do, but the fact is that if they didn't have "Palestine Action" written on their signs they would not have been arrested.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

The High Court in London has ruled that designation was unlawful and a disproportionate interference with freedom of expression.

That judgement was overturned 4 months after

4 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And it'll go to the Supreme Court, which could reverse it again.

Putting this group on the same level as Al Queda, the IRA, and ISIS is patently absurd and absolutely about the UK government toadying up to the War Criminals that run Israel.

The UK is still selling arms to an apartheid genocidal state.

Hey I'm not arguing with you, I was just ensuring the info was up to date.

Everything you're saying is right.

4 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

And if they do people who endorse Palestine Action won't get arrested. I did not say that it's right, all I said was that they were arrested because of their support for Palestine Action which is a designated terrorist organisation.
