How about making humans responsible for their own clean up

I am well versed in bird law and have many objections!

I hope the Dutch offer tobacco cessation programs to addicted crows.

That's a good Idea. Sounds similar to my Sea Turtles ???? collecting plastic six pack holder concept.

What's to stop me from putting my own cigarette butts in the machine for those tastey bird treats

You’re a smart bird

I can't see how that would possibly work so it's probably going to make a bajillion dutch dollars. Gouda bucks? Tulip Cents? Clog Nickels?

Man those are gonna be the coolest birds ever

What happens when the cigarette buds run out? Will the crows be unemployed and die of hunger?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Knowing crows, it's only a matter of time before they take up smoking themselves, so they can get more butts quickly and easily.

But the crows will just learn to breed more cigarette butts and deposit them instead!

Cancer crows. What’s bloody next I ask you

Cancer crows! New band name I called it!

It might secretly be a stop smoking campaign. How long until crows steal cigarettes from people when they don't see any more discarded ones?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I read that as "braining crows". Poor crows.

I am going to teach crows to gather coins for treats. I'm going to be rich and have an army of crows. This is what I'm doing with my life.

I have wanted to do this for a while but have been lazy, I'll help you.

I like this plan. I want in.

Someone tryed this with coins, and the birds got it, they even teached others so the knowledge spread

An interesting solution to the problem of some smokers being assholes.

Judging by the title, Peta is already on its way to milk the fuck out of saying its animal abuse

What an unethical thing to do to crows. Training them to pick up toxic substances.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Make the birds our slaves. I like it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is just going to encourage crows to buy and smoke cigarettes.

I get it, butt they will decompose after 5 years. Its the plastics that are the prob. Teach them to get stuff like 6 pack rings and bags.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

why not both?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They either get treats, or die trying.

Fun fact, birds that use cigarette butts in the construction of their nests don't tend to get mites.

8 years ago | Likes 162 Dislikes 2

So we should keep throwing them on the ground?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow, an actual interesting fun fact that I never would've guessed. Nice.

My grandpa said that they'd put a tobacco leaf in each chicken's nest.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but a lot of the hathlings tend to get suck IIRC

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sick*

Or how about we directly charge cigarette companies for the cleanup of their product? A bit crazy but if they’re considered toxic, why not?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I believe we do, awhile back they passed a 'butt tax" on all darts to cover the costs of cleaning up the butts, added .25$ to a pack but

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

never made any change whatsoever to the amount of cigarette butts lying everywhere, and i haven't heard of any programs to change that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that is because the government used the tax money for something else. no oversight

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutely. We need to increase public participation in local politics, as i believe this was at the state level for me. To many only 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

get politically involved when its time to vote for the next president. 2/2
