We've been at war with Iran since 1979. We've been in another shooting phase of that war again for two years already. The Houthis are just a proxy of Iran. Now we're just shooting the head instead of the fingers.
I'm not convinced it's better than shooting the fingers and diplomatically squeezing the neck to force the head to do what's required of it, until we no longer have to shoot or squeeze anything. But not doing anything wasn't ever an option.

Okay, hate to even suggest that I'm defending Trump here, but lying in public about military operations is pretty standard. In WWII the allies spent a huge amount of time and effort trying to mislead Germany about where and when D Day would happen. NOT saying "Our planes are already in the air, they'll be over Terhan in six hours" is possibly the only good call Trump made.
