Republicans just pulled a vote on the Iran War Powers Resolution because they knew they were going to lose. They rigged the rules to protect the president’s historically unpopular war from a fair up or down vote.

Can they be forced to take a vote?

I love this. I want more Dems up on the soapbox getting pissed on the floor of Congress

If they want to build a pyramid of dynamite and light the fuse, that's their choice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWtt_2wrJ5w&list=RDWWtt_2wrJ5w&start_radio=1

Stupid move: Trump has no good way out of this stupid war. Congress pulling the plug would’ve given him an excuse to withdraw and blame Congress. And Republicans could claim they stood up to him.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But also pointless because Trump would never sign it, and they'd never get a veto-override majority in either chamber.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These people, and everybody that supports them, are scum.

Look at all the old morons in the room. I can't understand how these crap bags are making decisions for us all when I wouldnt even trust them to safely move my car

They're getting rewarded politically for doing nothing about Trump.
Yeah... that's gotta stop, too

Remember when Speaker Johnson kept extending the Congressional recess because he didn't want to confirm the Democrat representative who'd been vocal about voting YES on the release of the Epstein files, a vote that would push it to a confirmation?

I sure do.

Mike Johnson can go fuck himself, that elf-on-a-shelf devious fuck.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Absolutely, fuck the guy. How the hell can you take an actively being voted on piece of legislation off the floor anyway? Just 'oh whoosie, we don't want to have it go where it's going.' There's so many laws that were pushed through that the Democrats should have done that to - but of course never did.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No. I don't want him to go fuck himself.

I want his constituents to do that.

I want EVERY FUCKING politician that allowed this to be shamed for LIFE.

I don't want them to be able to go to the grocery stores.

Or their children's sporting events.

Or out to eat. Without fear that someone will call them out. In front of EVERYONE to remind them that they supported the rise of fascism in the United Fucking States.

I want them ALL to consider suicide over their fucking guilt. IDFC anymore.

I don't think it's a conspiracy at this point to assume that Epstein was not the ringleader of the pedophile class, but that he was a tool of Israel, and that Israel has some shit on Mike Johnson and many other high ranking Republicans.

Remember how out of nowhere Johnsons ascent to Speaker was? He was a nobody. Then suddenly he's speaker.

Republicans (and a handful of democrats) are serving Israel and only Israel.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He wasn't a nobody. He'd done a lot of "important" law cases defending religious bigots... sorry zealots then he kept saying the right things like "Pizzagate wasn't a hoax. 2020 was rigged. Pete Buttigieg is a *slur* (yup, written in his book)." He also positioned himself as deputy whip then vice chair of the RNC. He may not have been on the public's radar but he was definitely not "a nobody."

Jane’s Patterson called attention to him in Filthy Rich. In 2016. We were kind of preoccupied with other things that year I guess.

WTF autocorrect JAMES

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Glump would’ve vetoed it

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 20

It would have been a resolution (a matter internal to Congress), not a law. President doesn't get a say... at least not normally.

3 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 2

Per an Axios article…..

“The vote is largely symbolic, as Trump can veto the measure.”

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 7

Which is incorrect, because it's not a law and not subject to veto. The resolution is basically Congress telling Trump what he can and can not do. Trump could (and likely would) ignore it, adding it to the seemingly infinite pile of impeachable offenses, but that's not the same as a veto.

3 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Presidents don’t get says in Supreme Court decisions, either, yet here we are…

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I different dem in the house would have cast a vote to stop it, or fetterman in the senate. Sadly the dem establishment is just as for this war as all the republicans are.

3 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 41

No, the “Dem Establishment” is not.

But thanks for playing, Vlad.

3 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 5

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-house-narrowly-rejects-bid-rein-trump-iran-war-powers-2026-05-14/ They needed one more vote to pass in the house, lame-duck 'dem' votes no for it to tie and fail.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Let's be real, the corporate demorats are just as paid for by israel as republicunts. You have like 2 for sure people fighting for you, and Bernie is pretty close to center too.

3 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 5

Yeah, it's the corpo/aipac ones that keep voting down efforts to stop it. And you can bet Schumer and Jeffries allow it to happen.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not advocating for not voting dem, just don't trust the establishment leaders and vote their asses out and replace them with actual leftist fighters.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, run leftists... so that the Republicans can pull the same old scare tactics and win - again.

Wake up and vote for candidates who can win the general election. All that matters is putting D's in seats right now. We have no room for idealism.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This is all a show. Democrats dont give a shit either way. If democrats really gave a fuck about America we wouldnt be in this situation to begin with. Its a confederacy of apathetic losers. They just want to keep the status quo. They cant even keep their party unified. The entire American governmental system is a sham and was bought decades ago before most of us were born. If you think for a second anything is going to get better you are a idiot.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 12

Merc’s Law in full effect. Republicans created a shitty situation, then Republicans do something extra shitty as part of that situation to even extend the shittiness, and someone blames the Democrats.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Am I wrong? Did the DNC not force biden to dropout of the race over a debate and then gave kamala 200 days to campaign? Was it not 7 democratic senators who voted with republicans to fund ICE? Didn't the DNC censure one of their own for speaking out against dump at his state of the union? Many members of the DNC take AIPAC money? Democrats squander every single opportunity they are given and are just as corrupt as the GOP. As always you miss the fucking point because of your blind loyalty.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Take a look in the mirror. You are doing exactly what republicans do when someone has a different opinion from them. Because I dont blindly believe democratic nonsense or believe in the same thing you do, you instantly label me as some thing you dont like. You are just as bad as any republican. You are also a bigger idiot believing democrats will save you when they constantly prove to you they dont give shit. Grow the fuck up and start thinking for yourself and not toeing the line.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

well I mean you can assume it'll never get better, do nothing, thus guarantee the outcome, or you could do the smart thing.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

The majority of americans dont care. They are going about their days like this shit is normal. We are a apathetic population that has been inebriated with consumerism. We dont care so long as the next season of Surivor still airs. All I have seen from democrats is them stamping their feet and saying its not fair while also at the same time not being able to hold a unified front. The game is fucking over, we lost. Now here comes the fallout. Death by apathy.

Rosa DeLauro might be 130 years old or something like that, but she's a firecracker.
She clashes with Republicans all the time, like Lee Zeldin over EPA shenanigans, blasting him for denying science and Trump’s defunding of critical programs - she's fun to watch.

There are many people who want to do _something_ to stop this regime. But within our own powers there's nothing _effective_ we can do about it.
Plus many people here are living paycheck to paycheck. We can't abandon our job & go to D.C. to attempt to save Democracy, with the chance that we fail and get fired for abandoning our job, or get arrested far from home.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it wouldn't take as much as you'd think. we saw it on Jan 6. just a couple thousand is enough to overwhelm the Capitol. That mob could've done far more damage had they not turned tail as soon as shots were fired. Or imagine if even a quarter of them were armed. Any member of the armed forces know that fighting against an enemy combatant force of over 200 troops even loosely organized is practically suicidal, the only realistic option would be to surrender or hide. We CAN -FORCE- a change.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

We're just trying too hard to keep decorum. We're too polite and civilized. We need to grow a backbone and seriously take action. This administration has shown us time and again that they are unwilling to listen to us. Each time we step back and draw a new line for them to cross. Each time they cross the line we lose more allies, and those that remain become more hostile. When will it become too much? When death camps start popping up? There are hundreds missing from "alligator alcatraz".

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are many who want to do something without giving up anything. Ask Americans to sacrifice a little and they all stay home.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, but this is cowardice. Fear of failure, fear of consequences, fear of suffering a little to a lot. It's all cowardice.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Deciding to prioritize feeding one’s family, or caring for one’s loved ones, isn’t cowardice, it’s humanity. I would throw myself on the pyre for the good of the country tomorrow if I didn’t have people I am responsible for. The risk of repercussion, and thus an inability to take care of people we are responsible for, is too much for a lot of us. It doesn’t mean we like it, or are okay with it.
