While this insanity ☝️is happening in Ontario... (April 12 2021)

MPP Randy Hillier wants lockdowns in Ontario to end (Ontario is in a bad place with the variants putting younger people in ICU and the hospitals overloaded). (Photo from Nov 2020 but his organized protests are still happening in April 2021)

Sea of dangerous morons being spurred on by a high ranking government official stoking their fears and swaying more people every day!

5G signs ?‍♀️

Ontario Canada is struggling with COVID. Our premiere is a conservative who has been doing half measures in order to appease his base and big business buddies; this was all reasonably manageable (still with many lives lost) until the variants started kicking our asses. Also Canada’s vaccine rollout is insanely behind. My husband is a front line worker and I care for my immobile high risk father and this moron is organizing end the lockdown rallies at businesses in my area (April 9 2021). The businesses are suffering and losing their licenses for being stupid enough to get involved. More maskless protests are planned and we need to tell this man to stop. If you are in Ontario or elsewhere in Canada this affects you. If you are in the US in bordering states (my elderly mother is in NY state) this affects you as the border won’t open. Email and call please. Please share. Let’s flood this assholes office!

Bruenor says Plz don’t help stop the lockdown because he loves his humans at home all the fucking time.

I live in Quebec currently and nobody respects the new emergency measures in force, dozens of maskless kids playing in the parc below atm

Fuck, I'm so glad I don't live there anymore

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Please don't, Canada

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just wish the virus would kill these shitheads alone, but disease doesn’t work that way

5 years ago | Likes 136 Dislikes 1

Here in the US, we don't need doctors to explain to us. We already know how broken the system is.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Quarantine the idiots with the virus, then you get 'chosen one' idiots who become immune.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Hillier's riding is relatively isolated, so it doesn't have many cases. Hence why they get to act like this.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Brazil is intubating people without sedatives, buckle up buckaroos

5 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

That real deep throat experience

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Randy Hillier is objectively the cuntiest cunt to ever cunt and is making everything worse. Please don't give him recognition.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I want him to be bombarded with calls and emails because it works, it’s not to publicize. I trust imgur to be the community to do the best.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Alright then. It is a tough needle to thread between "giving him attention" and "giving him attention he'll hate". God, he's just the worst.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

That fucker, right there. Absolute fuck up!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Randy Hillier is the biggest piece of shit in Ontario politics, which is saying a lot

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is it failing or is there just a lack of icu beds because of covid ventilator patients, so they have to be selective?

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Correct. We can’t keep up with the surge.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yea, that's not exactly the same thing as failing. Literally everywhere has that problem.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

But a common problem isn’t sensationalist enough for internet points.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Huh... There are dumbasses in Canada too... Apparently that's contagious... On behalf of America, we're sorry we gave you The Stupid.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

We elected a Premier who was a highschool drug dealer. We have pur fair share of stupid voters here too. But thank you.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If Canada is willing, I will trade citizenship with one of these people. They will love Oklahoma.

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

People who deny the danger of covid and refuse to protect others should sign an affidavit that they won't accept medical treatment for it.

5 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

b...b...but then their actions would have consequences. The whole point of "No Mask Monday" is to kill with no consequences.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

God dammit, Canada! You're supposed to be the reasonable nation in North America!

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thought it said randy Hitler at first.

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 2

So ashamed to live in this area right now. First protests in St. Catherines and now in the falls. Stay home you idiots

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Those fools live everywhere, so don't feel especially embarrassed. They're not exactly a dime a dozen, just prodigious breeders.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Geez here I use to pint the finger at America for being a tipis during these times. Now I’m ashamed to be Canadian. We need help.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

I was super bummed out that Covid had blocked us emigrating to Ontario in 2020. Now, though, I feel my family dodged a bullet.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Really hope things get better fast there - not for my sake, but for those caught up in this shitshow. Wear a fucking mask and stop mixing!

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

(PS: Lockdowns work. Bullshit does not.)

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I’m in Ottawa @OP and it is just so bad here. We even stopped going to backyard nights because of this new wave. Hillier is a reckless moron

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

The hell s a backyard night?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, if a backyard night means "group get-together", you've lived without them for over a year at this point, no reason to complain now.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And should be charged with reckless endangerment of every single person in every single rally. We can’t even get vaccines for <55 still!

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

They wouldn't even fine him when he had 27 people over for dinner in the second lockdown.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ford dumped on QC because of our curfew. Said it was taking away people’s freedom. Then he gave cops the right to randomly question anyone.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And now he’s pulled back.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And they’re refusing to do it lol

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Personally, I believe people who participate in such gatherings should be bard from medical services if they get covid. Let them die.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Wanna play with fire, you get burned. Want to not social distance and not wear a mask... die

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

My wife is a nurse in our hospital, we also live in Ontario, and our city is grossly under prepared for this if it hits hard here.

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

best of luck to you both, i hope you stay healthy, and the virus doesn't hit hard

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We've been sorta sheltered and had low numbers so far. Last year they spent boat loads to prepare for large numbers of cases. Budget gone..

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I’m so sorry.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We've been fairly fortunate. But if it his us bad we are screwed.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Provincial government - not doing enough. Federal government - not stepping up to do what must be done. We're boned.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Also our provincial government keeps blaming the federal government instead of accepting their help. This week it's the Red Cross nurses

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, what's up with that? He says he needs help (they're moving patients into long-term care homes b/c they can't cope) then refuses help

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It makes no sense. Now that help is offered he's saying it's actually a supply issue, but the numbers don't show that. Beyond frustrating

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh shit, this is my hometown >

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Same? You’re CP or Perth?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hello neighbour!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Conservatives fucking up your country, too? Genuinely sorry

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Man, imagine if we had a system like proportional representation and we never had to think that way again.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Liberals were mulling the idea at some point, but I don't think that it was an official part of their platform. Would have been nice...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was, actually! I know because I went and listened to Trudeau speak at a campaign rally about it. The thing is, PR doesn't get a (1)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

liberal majority in the same way that, say, instant runoff balloting does, so Trudeau ran two election commission studies, both said (2)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I feel like "let's train for the fact that people are going to die unnecessarily" is maybe not the time to deploy the smiley face emoji.

5 years ago | Likes 941 Dislikes 1

Why not? Sarcasm aside, the electorate have apparently decided that it's OK. Either the electorate, party, or counting system needs change.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh I dono, at least it didn’t end “come and practise crying for your dying loved ones this week ahead of the real thing next week!”

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Or the exclamation marks. I wish to set fire to whoever wrote that (if it's real). I really hope it isn't real.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

It’s real.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s a great opportunity! Hooray! That was a really messed up message.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

:P

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This observation could not have been made more eloquently. Well done.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Have you ever hung out with nurses or doctors? Crass humor is a bit of an understatement. It's the only way to keep doing that job and not >

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Fun fact: I'm already broken on the inside! Humour is the only way I shield myself from openly crumbling! Hm...maybe not such a fun fact...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

break inside.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Completely agree! Someone raised the point that health care professionals need to reposition/reframe in order to manage but I also cringed.

5 years ago | Likes 153 Dislikes 0

In the end, we are people going to work just like you. If you want us to not burn out you're gonna have to let some shit go. I'm in the

5 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

hospital every day and the reality is that somebody's loved one's death is probably just a wednesday to us. We handle it the best we can

5 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

But if you want us to constantly feel what's going on around us we'll go insane.

5 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Yep i agree

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I completely understand. Do what you need to care for others and not burn out!

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I think it’s called empathy fatigue, and it’s a necessary response to protect one’s emotions from killing them.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There is a cancer of greed and ignorance in this world, and it needs to get cut out. No doubt in my this cancer is Fermi's Great Filter.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is in Canada

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And the US (although we voted ourselves a bit of reprieve), and Brazil, and too large a portion of other countries of the world.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes but Canada has universal healthcare, so the "its all greed!" angle doesn't work.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If the health system is collapsing because a politician is taking advantage of the ignorance of voters, he is power hungry/basically greedy.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, I think your quip flew over my head for a moment. *AHEM* --- "Hi Canada, I'm Dad."

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why wouldn’t someone be eligible for ICU care?

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

ICUs are full.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People already too old or already in hospice, too sick, etc. They want to make room for able-bodied younger people that have a chance

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Too old, too sick, too many co-morbitidies

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

And, most importantly, not enough ICU beds/staff.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Not enough beds or staff would be my guess.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Triage. Their condition is such that even with ICU support there is a reasonable chance they will not survive. So, palliative care.

5 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 2

No! That's what that means? I can't believe it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Where have you been? At the worst point in Italy, people over 60 were not getting ventilators because there were not enough.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Also the other way, that their condition isn't severe enough to be hospitalized.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

In Ontario, we are at roughly 50% of our ICU beds being used for COVID.

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

That’s horrible, and I’m sorry

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

This is what happens when you elect a crackhead’s brother.

5 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 5

Hiller is an Independent that the PC party booted out.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Both brothers were drug dealers in highschool. Both got beat up by my buddies.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Haha, nice.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That email was 100% written by a sociopath. 'This is a great chance' great chance to get fucked up enough to suck a shotgun.

5 years ago | Likes 441 Dislikes 8

Medical professionals learn to emotionally distance themselves from the horrors of the job, because if they didn't, they'd kill themselves.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's an HR person. And yes. I imagine the consequences of this training being needed will result in a few suicides.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Most HR reps, in my experience. They're taught to always frame everything as a positive, don't use negative words, etc. It's insane.

5 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 0

*~*~* Since were caught masturbating in the same handicap stall, this is a great opportunity for a permanent vacation!! :D *~*~*

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

I mean it's the only way to know for sure you'll get away from Courtney Love...

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Too soon.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It’s written for med students who will be excited to have the opportunity to learn this before they become doctors.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's more likely written by people who do this shit for a living day in/day out and it's just a workday for them.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I kinda feel like your outrage is in the wrong direction

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I mean sure 'person who has seen a lot in the past twelve months didn't use the language I want amongst their peers' is a pretty big deal

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh cut me a break. I only have 140 characters a comment. Any 'outrage' I'm feeling is directed at the cause of this training being needed -

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

- But that doesn't change the fact that the author of the email, (who as someone organizing a training is 100% on the administrative level-

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

- and is probably HR, at best a manager, has likely only seen 'a lot' of zoom calls and their own home in the past twelve months) -

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hear you but delivering bad news to patients is a necessary skill and currently there's a significant need for more medical professionals

5 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

I’d argue it’s a necessary component of good bedside manner. Even as an engineer I was trained how to communicate information.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

to know how to deliver the bad news, and move on to do good is imperative just now. As for tone... Well there are already...

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

A few thousand scrubs memes about how they all make jokes so they can get through the hard times and keep on working... This is that but in

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Real life. These letters are about interdepartmental communications. Laypeople aren't supposed to see them because why would we really care.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

But we read them and we feel like its sociopathic. But its cathartic. The same way we all post about Karen's at Walmart.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I remember not too long ago Canada was being all.smug to Merica about raging covid

5 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 26

It’s so true. It was gross and it’s still gross.

5 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

And we still should be. The US death rate is insance Americans just don’t seem to care. You’re all used to just letting them die for freedom

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Never celebrate early.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

not to long ago we had a president that acted just like this MP in Canada.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Our country does have an excessive superiority/inferiority complex, but the US did let aloooot of people die before getting off their asses

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Turns out neither country is a perfect paragon of amazingness ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Tbf, when I try to get US folks to be proud of their country, I get downvoted to hell by US folks.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

Because the US has nothing to be proud of.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 7

We havent had something to be proud about for a long time bucko

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

What about fried chicken?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Except Ontario doesn’t represent Canada.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 11

Wait a few weeks, what is happening in Ontario and Quebec will make it's way west to Alberta and BC. 3rd wave is coming for you too.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What about montreal? Where there was protests and rioting because of stricter lockdowns?

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The protests were over a 8pm curfew which is taking it way too far.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

I'm not saying the protests were warrented by 8om isn't either. Just forces people to shop while things are open instead of spread out.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I did the math... if Ontario Had the population of the USA, we would be having about 100k cases per day

5 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 4

Thank you. Numbers help keep things in perspective.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Can’t confirm off hand: but models have 30k cases by may at the current trend?? So “absolutely horrible” by all accounts

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Oh my math is at 4200 per day. I had heard 18k a day but could be wrong.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

iirc 30k by end of May was before the new measure were put into place yesterday.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We’ll see how that plays out w/ the actual causes not being properly targeted and people be idiots...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What happened to Canada’s amazing healthcare system that supposedly puts americas to shame?

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 37

Waiting for an intelligent response to this... ???

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

There's lot of replies above you, I think you are just looking for a reply that agrees with you.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No one will go broke or into bankruptcy battling this disease you idiot. Our government fucked up bad. Yours is completely broken.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The healthcare system is the LAST line of defence against COVID, not the first.

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

This.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

A raging pandemic happened. Our system is NOT perfect. But it’s light years better than the US system of letting them just die.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

The source of this problem is leadership not taking proper precautions, thus overloading an otherwise functional healthcare system.

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 3

How does that account for Canada’s abysmal rollout of the vaccine then? I’ll tell you but you wouldn’t believe me.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 8

Because the rollout is controlled by leadership and not healthcare professionals? But I'll listen if you want to blame medical professionals

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Partially vaccine deals not being delivered. Some part US taking our priority in vaccines. Lots of provincial rollout issues.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0
