"Millennials getting to age where 0,5 percent of them are about to become "self made" rich from generational wealth."

Fixed it for ya.

wake me when this prophecy is fulfilled

Yeah, nah… I’m a FA. I work with only people in the top 3% of wealth in the USA. That bar only represents several hundred thousand dollars. So even if all my clients die and the money goes to their kids, and let’s assume the average client has three children, those kids usually dont have enough to continue working with me if all they are relying on is their parents wealth. This article is BS.

Misleading. 1. The bulk of this transfer will likely benefit millennials from ALREADY affluent families. 2. They forgot to mention unprecedented student debt, high housing costs, and wage stagnation relative to previous generations at the same age. 3. The sheer size of that gen means this wealth will be spread thinner per capita. TL;DR: SOME millennials will become wealthy, but the transfer will exacerbate intra-generational inequality rather than making the entire gen "the richest on record".

Meritocracy strikes again!

I somehow doubt that. Their inheritances were probably all given to Trump, Inc

I hope the old fucks find themselves forgotten in nursing homes while the kids are enjoying their money or finding good causes for it.

But only if your family is already wealthy. If you're poor, you get to stay poor.

Yeah, that money is all getting transferred to healthcare CEOs.

I hate this bullshit content. Let's say that Gen X and Gen Z are around 142 million Americans. This would suggest that we're all going to get around $600k. The reality is that most all of that will go to wealthy families. Normal people like me have to *pay* to support their parents likely won't get enough inheritance (if any) to cover what they pay to support their parents in old age. This is why we need a inheritance taxes that target the rich. They need to pay their fair share.

A lot of American millennials are going to see their boomer parents' finances drained off by the healthcare industry on their way out the door, unfortunately

My bank account still has a negative balance, how does this help me?

Uhhh ..Boostarps? Something about a better job? What empty platitude would you like in this moment that makes you feel as shitty as possible because it shifts the focus from how shitty the state of society is to how you haven't managed to get lucky and find a survival path and then blames you for it?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kinda hard to pull on broken bootstraps

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You are correct ... thats kinda the whole juxtaposition about the comment. The idea of telling someone to "pull them up by their own boostraps" is flawed. Its telling someone to do the impossible while blaming them for the failures of society by making them feel like THEY are not doing enough.

I was aware of your intent, just commented to assist my own sanity, it really sucks to be a person who is homeless who is attempting to assist others who are homeless. I know why I am, but I am ok, well I am running very low on water, but am collecting rain, but there are mentally challenged people who make up the majority of homeless you see in town who have no resources available to them, most seem to lack basic knowledge of self care, funding stopped for them in wherever they are from

To concentrate into the hands of a few. So, the average millennial will have a buncha money, while the median millennial is likely fucked.

fortune is full of shit and propaganda. take anything they have to say with a pinch of salt and a full sewage truck. millennials are atill broke and the death of their parents "transferring" their wealth. isnt going to happen. boomers are not even fully in retirement and they will live another few decades. by then all that wealth will be leached out of them by the system.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FYI, there are bills and such going into effect that are going to greatly diminish that transfer of wealth. Either uncle Sam is going to take it or you're going to get fucked one way or another. Have your parents setup trusts and such to help better transfer it. You basically have to do the shit rich people do.
