Still $225 too much. I’d be impressed if we got it under $50

My best friend (really good guy) is heavily invested in Tesla. We argue often about it! But I have enjoyed the last 3 months of Tesla stock watching.

40% down since new year

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Down 47% since inauguration Jan 21, 2025.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So it experienced a correction that brought the value more in-line with the historic average? Given how people keep setting them on fire, it's honestly impressive it didn't meaningfully drop.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Tesla is ridiculously overvalued, the stock is a house of cards waiting to crash.

Yes, but only $7 over the last month. But yes, $138 since the beginning of the year. But yes, UP $99 over the last year. While this is always good, you always have to compare.

Don't worry, it'll get pushed down, then Congress will support some sort of tax funded influx of money to make more off their investments

Market cap 700B++. P/E 110.
It's at least 400% overvalued.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Happy to see it burn. But at the same time, my pension funds are burning, which I'm less happy about. Why can't I have my cake and eat it too?

To be fair, the whole market is doing the same...

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

to be fair? to who? what? way to miss the ENTIRE point of this with this stupid way to start a comment by people who have nothing to say...

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

nVidia taking a shit isn't surprising - between the component tariffs and the slow burst of the bullshit AI bubble, it was bound to wither.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My point is a bit wider. Almost all stocks are down.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Keep it up.

Is it above or below the big boom it got after Trump won? I remember, perhaps erroneously, that it was all Musk businesses got huge jumps in November or so in the stock market. Point being, I want to know if Musk is truly losing money.

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

It was my understanding that Tesla only became profitable via selling zero emission credits to others and it was never really about the cars to begin with. Trump is ending green energy type shit to begin with and in a crazy turn of events the maga republicans are the ones defending Tesla after being the ones taking shits on the vehicles to begin with.

World is crazy to me

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

also sorry for using 'begin with' so many times

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Musk does keep saying it’s a tech company, not a car company

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Five days doesn't mean much. It spiked high around election time but it's still higher than it was 6 months ago. I know it's fun to get excited over little victories but make sure it's really a victory first.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I looked at the stock trend over the last 5 months; it brings me joy to see what appears to be investors shorting Tesla stock.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So after Musk is no longer Trumps bestes boy, the stock is back to the level it was before the elections?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Is he not still? I haven't heard any chatter about trump kicking him out, but if so I'm delighted

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

dont know, I just heard that they butted heads, and ever since then I didnt see any new stuff about them together.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

As always, perspective.

1 year ago | Likes 491 Dislikes 8

A 5 day look is pretty worthless. Only valuable to speculators.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The perspective helps those who can think critically with it obviously, but remember that in the eyes of late-stage capitalists, anything short of 20% YOY increase means you've failed miserably, and at 0% YOU you're gonna be drawn and quartered for cutting into the stockholder's projected income that relies on ever-expanding profits

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tesla's earning report comes out tomorrow after markets close. Depending on how that looks, the stock could plummet on Wednesday.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you. I saw the 5 day trend and immediately thought this was a useless post. So basically, he got a trump bump during the campaign, and has now returned to the prior market value

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Always appreciate a bit of knowledge in this place. That also means there's still plenty of room for more downfall

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed -- we can do better

1 year ago | Likes 124 Dislikes 0

So really it just wiped out the bubble of speculation since the election. Everyone was saying it's overvalued - this is just a normal correction. The real free fall is tomorrow when they release the earnings and realize Musk has permanently damaged the brand.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Indeed:

1 year ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

Important to note the time intervals as well. Look at the volatility in just April 2025. Plus this is just the stock price, not the plummeting sales. This has not hit bottom.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

All of the drama is already priced into the current value of the stock

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hate that the graph starts at 200 and not 0, makes it seem lower than it actually is.

And there's so much lower it can go.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Perspective. This is barely into Trumps presidency and all the bad things for the economy he has promised has not really hit yet. This drop is the ANTICIPATION that there will be a drop, not the actual drop.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True, but it's good to see that stock keeps deflating despite everything musk and trump try. Peaked at nearly $480 in December and they keep havimg to pump those numbers back up as they dwindle

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Evidently I don't understand how these stock market types use data, but according to that graph, 6 months ago it was $230 a stock and it's currently $224, so I, being a reasonable person would assume that the stock is still down over the last 6 months

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

It says the stock is up $6.11 per share. Which means the price was 218.85 6 months ago

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you're looking at the numbers in the bottom left that's for the day not for the chart. It says what the stock was worth on the day that the little green dot is on (which is today). So that's the value when trading opened today, what it peaked at today, and what the low was today.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was indeed looking at the numbers at the bottom, thank you

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Indeed, what most people don't get about current meltdown in stock market is that a lot of it comes from melting the price hike that occured after Trump won the election.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes, but another thing to note is that tariffs have yet to actually start taking a real effect on the economy. Right now it's all just speculative decline. If the tariffs stay and the earnings reports start to look bad, that's when it would really drop.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed. The stock market for a very long time has been just a market of speculations which could have been witnessed during this 'liberation month'. It will be interesting to see what's gonna happen with it in the next quarter because it's very different when the actual action gets priced in instead of a speculation, even tho every time he opens his mouth my retirement savings take a hit.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Any graph that doesn't have 0 at the bottom is sensational. Of course a drop from 200

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's a standard stock graph, it's well understood that whitespace is omitted.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still 10x overvalued for what would probably be "normal" in the market, excluding my feelings that it should be zero

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

General Motors: $44.16 B
Ford: $37.65 B
Stellantis: $26.72 B
Telsa: $731.75 B
They sell less cars, and made less money, but are worth everything?

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

No, but the stock is worth what people are paying for it.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Hype and emotions are real on the stock market. If you think Tesla can become a monopoly like Amazon or Google, then maybe it's worth the price. More likely a bubble.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The crazy part is that those tech companies have P to Es of 20 to 35. Even after TSLA tumbled it's like 120. It's value is insanity.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I remember Plain Bagel on YouTube said for the valuation to make sense, half the cars on the road needs to be a Tesla. That's never going to happen so don't believe anyone who says their future earnings is "priced in." That's just wild, wild speculation.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah Tesla valuation is extremely overblown

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd love to see some feds dig deep into who was buying and selling and when. Trump was a big factor in this rise and fall. I'm sure someone who had some inside info could have made some easy money buying in November and selling during the inauguration before trump started announcing the tariffs.

1 year ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

I’d love to see a convicted felon stand trial for treason.

I guess we’re both going to be disappointed.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

An investigation into how they sold less than 50k Incelcaminos when they had a claimed 2 million pre-orders and borrowed money on the basis of that promised income, would be good.

As most of them were claimed in the first few weeks when the deposit was returnable rather than later when they made it non-refundable, there should be $195 million in their accounts for returned deposits.

If there was, then there wouldn't have been any surprise that they sold so few

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

The Canadian government is investigating Tesla because 3 days before the government rebate ended, Tesla allegedly sold almost 3000 cars in one day, collecting $43 million (CAD), scamming the government. I hope that they get their asses handed to them

So, it's basically where it was at before he became the Trump's Wormtongue.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup, tesla is doing as good as it was last year

1 year ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 1

60% BETTER. It was at 142 a year ago...

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

As far as stock goes. Actual sales/deliveries and this profit worldwide? That's down

1 year ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

I think it’s more like they’ve lost all value created in the last year. That is much worse than how things were this time last year.

1 year ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Which is why capitalism is stupid. Businesses should be aiming for consistent profits, not constant growth

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yup. He's a multibillionaire. While we giggle, he has another artisanal cracker with endangered sturgeon caviar, washed down with rare French champagne, and laughs

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Have you not seen the pictures he posts ? He's drinking warm energy drinks and eating garbage while fondling his reproduction swords and scheduling his next testosterone supplement.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

If it makes you feel better thinking a billionaire who's just as rich (or richer) than he was last year, is laying awake at night because people burned a few cars (covered by insurance) and are saying bad things about him, well you do you

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Hilariously he does seem like the kind of guy who NEEDS validation from everyone, even online anons. Just look at his gaming stream lol. Pathetic.

Fatalities, battery fires, recalls/quality concerns, odometer scandal, high repair costs, poor resale value, etc. Price should be at zero.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Let's get it down to the valuation it deserves, not this bubble inflated by getting railed by Trump's 2 incher every night.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I want musk dragged into the streets and beaten to a bloody pulp. The only real way to deal with Nazis.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never gonna happen. The 1% own 80% of all stocks. They are not going to sell UNLESS car sales consistently plunge year on year.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's already taken a good dive since start of the year.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You know what? let's get it down to negative. I know it can't happen, but fuck it, lets get it so far down that people have to pay to sell.

1 year ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

I mean it can be delisted. That's not the same but it does remove a lot of potential liquidity which is bad bad bad.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Let's make it so hated that people caught with stocks in it WANT to sell, but can't.
