I should not have to say that but please don't do this shit. Using high-powered lasers in uncontrollable environments is a guarantee for blinding others with reflections.
That looks like an aluminum tube, which is really surprising because it makes it more expensive while also making it WAY easier to cut down. You get a blade with enough teeth and you can chew through that pretty fast with a portable circular saw. Faster than you could with a sawzall.
Regular printers leave coded traces on their printed sheets, which can be used to track where it was printed, as far as I know, receipt printers do not do this
Older Printer don't do this as well, and B/W less likely as well. When you grop the Paper you will most likely remove it as well as the marking are mostly at the Border were normaly printer doesn't print. As typical: The Felons which knows about it can circumvent it easily and most honest poeples get tracked and blamed as the most likely person which gets framed by it are Whistleblowers.
Kids doing the radical things cuz their prefrontal cortex hasn't fully developed. Exactly what we need! They aren't afraid of society calling them *radicals*. Yep...ok.
Yeah now I can't unsee it. There are some soft shadows that look right. Maybe it's some kind of weird lighting, like it's night but there's a lot of environmental lighting?
Police vehicles are much the same. I got pulled over yesterday when a camera system in a cruiser alerted the officer that I had forgotten to renew my drivers license on my last birthday. Not my license plate, my drivers license.
They also have incredibly lax security and are frequently placed in places that don't have vehicles, like playgrounds. https://youtu.be/vU1-uiUlHTo In a city near me they also placed additional cameras not in the contract, luckily the people very quickly pushed to have them all removed and other nearby towns followed suit.
Flock is working with Ring doorbell cameras too, right? I thought I read that somewhere. Or perhaps they just wanted to. But the idea was that they could use Ring camera footage in conjunction with Flock cameras to better map out where people are, where they're going, how much time they're spending there, etc. They're trying to go full Minority Report by using AI to predict people who will commit crimes based on their patterns... Fucking insane. I hope Flock and Ring didn't work out...
These are reported by people, not companies. There were listed at my home depot but the third wasn't listed, I added it. Every exit direction from home Depot and Lowe's have flock cameras

no you didn't
IrisSelamin
You mean you saw a few teenagers out for a walk who were almost hurt by a falling flock camera? I am sure thats what you saw.
Jarjarthejedi
Darn poorly installed camera falling over and almost hurting people.

You didn't see anything.

No you didn't.

Huh, wind must've blown it over.

Move along nothing to see here.

I approve of this outlet for teen angst. I hope destroying flock cameras becomes a new TikTok trend.

No you didn't
ThatGuyFromJustSouthOfTheMiddleOfNowhere
I've seen communities where they appear post how flock camera at a given location contain valuable components hoping they get stripped

Just had a quick look. Was not aware of the hidden yellow dot encoding for color printers. Does not seem to be an issue with monochrome laser. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/household-printers-tracking-code/

Plus this is probably a portable Label printer, so you don't need to carry any pre printed stuff with you

The Flock Camera did this to itself.

Seen'em? Never heard of them

Huh? They were at my place at that time, could not have been them.

Something about that image doesn't look right. Like, the felled pole of the camera looks poorly photoshopped.

This is definitely at night under street lights.

The pole isn't on the ground. It's hanging off its elevated base, still partially attached. It's floating above/in front of the background.

See what? Nothing to see here. Must have just been poorly installed and the wind knocked it over.

I saw everything. That camera pole just fell over all on its own.

Neither did it, hopefully.

Flock cameras are automated license plate reader (ALPR) systems that capture and analyze images of vehicles, RECORDING EVERYTHING.
mercyPandaRunner
It was recording everyone, but it couldn't record the teenagers that pushed it over. Ironic.

Instead of mailboxes, just drive around with a baseball bat and smash this shit

Also both Home Depot and Lowes use them. Literally the only ones in my area. So fuck both big boxes I guess

That's something you could easily sue them for you know. Illegal stop. You should contact an attorney, sounds like you had your civil rights violated.
Toqom
Plus anyone can access them so stalkers could be using them
philmoregraves
Oddly enough the ones I see around seem like they'd be better suited to catch ur face coming toward in than the license plate as ur going away from it

Thank you I was going to ask

Shouldn't someone put a Flock camera in The White House, where the real crimes are being committed?

Sometimes I'm glad that, technologically speaking, Alaska is about 20 years behind the rest of the US. From the Flock map:
KellyCrazyCatLadyinTraining
I definitely don’t want to know this information.

There's like 12 in my town. How does one let teenagers know about this so they can handle it?
FetteredJuvenescence
Can you fry these with a really strong laser pointer? Asking for a friend.

I’ve heard that It has to be a powerful laser. I’ve heard that spray paint / chaotic disassembly is more cost effective.

The data it captures can be accessed by any PD or government agency that pays Flock. That company needs to burn in hell.
ropetopus
Without any kind of need to show a legitimate law enforcement purpose either. It’s just massive government surveillance operated for profit.
StarscreamAndHutch
Ive seen yt videos were citizens can access them as well. They are not terribly secure.
GeeBrainWhatDoYouWantToDoTonight
One would say they are terribly unsecured
