Insane is letting him off easy. He's doing this very deliberately to make money for himself. Fucking over the entire rest of the world (except China, China will be just fine) is just a secondary effect that he doesn't give a shit about.
He's not insane. He is evil. There's a very important difference.
He has PSP or frontotemporal dementia, its the early sign of Alzheimer's. BOTH of trumpo's parents had it at EARILER ages than trumpo. The same physiological conditions that cause Alzheimers is destroying his brain's balance centers. A child of two alzheimers sufferers will have 15% MORE chance of getting it and at earlier and degrading faster than the parents. It's a genetic fact.
The fund managers are stupid. He is not insane. In fact, if you study him, you will find out he can be surprisingly lucid at times, particularly when it is about him. Also there *is* definitely a plan. It's called insider trading. What may give the appearance of insanity is that he just doesn't care. He doesn't care about the economy, the country, the people, the fund managers,... He cares about himself only. Anything and everything else is entirely subject to his self-obsession.
He was hired by russia to destroy the country from the inside out and so far, he's doing a damn good job. This country will be un-recognizable compared to it's former self in 4 years, regardless if we have elections and/or he is gone by natural or unnatural causes.
He had an interview in 2014 where he talked about how smart he was for buying up property and stocks when a recession was going on and then making billions off of it, so he said. He's just doing the same thing over
He's not insane because he's not the one pulling the strings. Musk is. Zuckerberg is. Bezos is. It's not the 1%. It's the 0.1%. Trump is a puppet to those he owes power and money. The moment they have no more use for him, he's in jail or the grave.
It baffles me that anyone is baffled. They're not smarter because they're rich. They're idiots. They fell for his bullshit the same as everyone the media propagandized. That's the ones who were even listening and didn't just automatically support the Republican candidate because Republican = "tax break and less regulations for me."
It's almost like this could have been predicted by literally anyone with a triple digit IQ who did't have their head up the ass of the imagined perpetual growth bullshit of Wall Street.
Billionaires' focus on perpetual profit growth cuts into the resources we allocate for programs and systems that both the people and the nation rely on to function properly. This, in turn, damages or shuts down those programs and systems. And the next step in this progression? The national society begins to break down. Ultimately, this kills the society.
Billionaires' greed *is* a cancer of society, in a very real, very literal sense. Why do you think we call it "end-stage" capitalism?
Let's not conflate things. Trump is not insane; he is a perfect, egocentric narcissist and an IMBECILE, but he is quite sane. Let's not provide him with excuses for his behavior.
The whole tariff plan is courtesy of Peter Navarro. One of the few people from Trump 45 that didn’t say, “fuck that, he’s crazy.” Navarro wrote multiple books about tariffs where he cites a learned source named Ron Vara.
Ron Vara. An anagram of Navarro.
Trillions of dollars gone, because a rapist that couldn’t “business” if his fake tan depended on it is taking advice from a man that listens to an imaginary friend that keeps talking about tariffs.
I imagine someone (probably Navarro) told him all about the Gilded Age (high tariffs, obscenely rich robber barons, etc) and his love for everything gold took over and if he has any thoughts on the topic, it probably revolves around bringing back the Gilded Age.
Fuck off, Ledger's Joker. That school bus heist intro was fucking magnificent and yeah, if you ask me, it looked pretty much fucking meticulously planned.
This is why it makes a lot of sense for him to be a veteran. He has plans on plans even when he makes things look crazy. There's no way that Ledger's Joker is just a pure ball of chaos. Too many things go his way. He has to have planned and influenced things much earlier.
Might've missed his backstory. You mean veteran as in military service or as a skilled low-key criminal before wearing his trademark attire and make up?
Military. I think the theory was that he was gravely injured and took shrapnel to the face, hence the scars. Then, affected with PTSD and other mental health afflictions from the things he experiences. Another thing used as a clue towards this is him talking about soldiers dying and no one caring because it is part of the plan.
Ackchyually, what they're doing isn't a pump and dump, because that's where you artificially inflate the price of a stock beyond what it's really worth so you can sell it for more profit. They're doing the exact opposite, called a "trash and cash", where they devalue stocks so they can buy them up for cheap.
I can't tell if that was really the plan and not just an also too. Trump has been harping on the trade deficit and using tariffs to close it for decades. DECADES. It seems to be his one singular economic idea that he thinks is brilliant.
But do you really? Wasn't the US founded on insurrection and refusal yo accrpt taxation without representation? Are the multitudes truly being represented? Or only the wealthy cronies?
A part that seems to always be missing from comments like this is that the US is no longer a reliable trade partner. Pump and dumps only work you can manipulate both the rise and the fall. Trump sure made the fall, but in reality, he’s basically cratered the US economy for decades. As we saw during the pandemic, prices for everything went up, did they come back down at the end of covid? No, they didn’t, and now companies are charging higher prices, they’ll never lower them back down.
No it’s not. Why are people even saying stuff like this? Do you think Trump is taking orders from anyone at this point? His ego is running the show now.
Exactly. We can only play chicken w china for so long before they just give us the finger, triple the tariffs permanently, and say "fine fuck you, we don't want your business anyway, fuckers"
Our economy needs their cheap shit more than they need to sell to us. They're still supplying the rest of the world, meanwhile we have to scramble for new sources.
Yeah, he's not concerned about "the economy". He's running the US like one of his businesses. Lie, cheat, and steal every last dime you can, file for bankruptcy and move on.
He seems to have missed the whole 'filing for bankruptcy' thing, on a country scale, means the country tends to become several smaller countries. His handlers havent forgotten that, and seem to be pushing for it.

I think he fundamentally doesn’t understand how anything works and has hired people who are either equally clueless or happy enough to go along with whatever he says

Part of it is a cash in money scam, because Trump is the greedy scam artist Trump is.
But part of it based on right wing ideology; which everyone should have realized is not usually very well "thunk" out, and is designed to benefit a select few at the cost of multitudes
People cling to conspiracy theories like this one because a plan, no matter how malevolent, is somehow less terrifying than the rudderless and arbitrary chaos of reality.
There is actual evidence of this plan being executed, and it wasn't some complex masterstroke. It was really easy to pull off when you have the power to manipulate the markets with the broad, bruteforce, power of being president and lying about policy. He made the market tank and then warned his cronies to buy low before he went back on his word. Why are you clinging to your artificial erudition to excuse his criminal behavior? Why are you lying as much as the big orange cunt?
You speak as if Trump is a rational being who doesn't just do shit on a whim. I've no doubt Dumpnut is enacting sinister schemes, I just don't think they're as well thought out as you claim.

Anyway, true or not, you ARE spouting conspiracy theories. Flailing at skeptics won't convince them, and soon you'll be fighting alone.
Really kind of sucks that this is the way we find out what absolute chicken shits the people in power are. They aren't even the utter sociopaths we've always assumed. They're basically just a bunch of scared and emotionally stunted children who the rest of us pay to babysit. Literally all of you dumb fucks could just get together be like "yo fuck this shit," and he'd be bounced in a day, but instead you're cowering. Why? Nobody is coming to save you. You have all the power.
Yes. The world has always been rudderless. It really is just a bunch of people pretending to be adults trying and failing in whatever way they feel is best. That's all this reinforces. And it's a lesson humanity as a whole will never actually learn.
No one wants to be martyred. We don't care enough about each other to be nationally angry if one person dies, especially since we live in a police state and that person will be demonized as a terrorist. Standing up for them is no longer a heroic thing to do, but evil following evil, in the words of the CEOs and politicians.
You're talking like one of the good ones. Remember there is something we can do, there are some people here who are very vulnerable, do whatever you can to help hide them. And thank you
I'm a disabled black LGBT man with medical needs, this regime will definitely kill me. I really want to go in guns blazing and stack Nazis high, but I'm one man on a walker who's already had a stroke from anger at the Republicans. I'm a justification waiting to happen if I go after them. But we are trying to build a local network of mutual assistance to help those in need.
Here’s the problem: People voted for him. If every elected politician got kicked out when they can’t get along with others in the playground, then that’s not democracy either. Trump clearly said what he plans to do and on election day people said “Yep, that’s what we want”. Now we have to deal with that.
Yeah, but almost every other democracy has the concept of "non-confidence' where a government that can fall and a new election is needed. Yours is just broken
While it's true, that could help in times like now, out also means we haven't had a situation like Italy's of averaging one of those about every 1.1 years since WW2
That's part of it. The other part is that the US government, since it's inception, only works if all parts of it agree to follow the rules - that's why we have a three point checks and balances system. In the past, anytime someone circumvented those rules it was either done in a backroom deal, or it was included in another piece of legislation that meant they had to give in to something to get what they wanted. Trump and Co. are being blatant about it, either outright refusing to follow the
Judicial rulings, or just circumventing things entirely by using unelected subgroups (DOGE, ICE), or executive ordering the hell out of things. An executive order, by its nature, indicates a failure or lack of faith in the American system. They are meant to be used sparingly, in an event of an emergency, and for a limited duration. Trump is using them to become a dictator without having to call himself a dictator. Republicans already have majorities in all 3 branches, but even if they disagree
With him, there's not much written in as far as what their options are if he simply refuses to do what they say. In fact, they're the ones who gave him the tacit immunity when SCOTUS decided that presidents couldn't be tried for official decisions.
To be fair on the executive orders, FDR issued 3,721, Woodrow Wilson 1,803, Calvin Coolidge 1,203, etc. It's more of a recent trend to back off (since Harry Truman), and Jimmy Carter in his 4 years had 320. Trump in his first term had 220, and so far 124 this term. The issue is the blatant disregard for law or reason many of his particular EOs have had so far this term.
Very true; but it also bears mentioning that both Wilson and FDR had wars going on (WW1 and 2 respectively), and FDR was also trying to recover from the Depression on his plate too; so there was a need to get things done quickly. You are right, though, in that the nature of Trump's holds a lot of weight - as well as the fact that he's been told to back off on some of them but has refused to do so.
You talk an awful lot of shit for someone who doesn't have to get the blood on their hands. Nobody here wants to kill fellow Americans, and that's what your proposition will boil down to. That's why we're exhausting every possible avenue of legal action we can before we reach for the guns, because it's not your family, it's ours. It's not your aunt and uncle, it's not your baby sister and her husband, it's mine. Fuck you and the high horse that dragged you in.
Up here in Canada, some of us are seriously half expecting Trump to start putting tanks at the border and ship/fly troops to the other border in Alaska. I will tell you that my family and I are prepared to stand and fight. We're not young or healthy but we know a line needs to be drawn, and if y'all down there let him come this way, there are things worth dying for. We have total sympathy for the Americans who have seen that Trump is only greed, self-interest, and bad news.
Remember there is something we can do, there are some people here who are very vulnerable right now, do whatever you can to help hide them. And thank you
Neither, I have family who've been sucked into the Trump cult. And when the fighting starts, they're the ones who are gonna fight and die against people trying to protect their freedoms because they've been brainwashed by mass media. The oligarchs will laugh and fly out of the country with all their wealth while we bury our dead and study through the wreckage. We HAVE to find a solution that doesn't blow the whole fucking country to rubble.
Its possible the rest of us, including yourself, are also scared and emotionally stunted. No one wants to be a martyr until that last straw breaks your back. Everyone says how easy it would be to just organize and deal with the problem but no one does, implying either the task is difficult, or we're not so far removed from the dumb fucks we gave power to.
Not to mention that it's never that easy to just get up and organize. People seem to forget how huge the US actually is, how difficult it is trying to organize at a national level, or even organizing locally while trying to align with other groups and states. That's not even touching on the fact that you don't talk about details here, even if everyone just points fingers without ever offering an actual solution that doesn't boil down to asking people to go throw their life away.
When I say "emotionally stunted," I mean they're people who have failed to develop in key ways because they haven't heard "no" nearly enough in their lives. Look at Musk. Normal people are never stunted in that way. It's just rich bastards and weirdo cultists.
Not enogh 'No', not enough self-denial and delay of gratification because it DOES develop character, and patience/working for something makes us stronger & better prepared gor whrn life says NO. EASY is never ultimately cheap, the costs must be paid one wsy or another because thrre must be balance.
It's not the entire solution though. They cheated to get the win the second time with voter suppression, they'll almost certainly do so again if we even have a chance to vote next time.
The problem is, very much, none of us having the constitution to reject this. We've had it way too easy for way too long; without anything to challenge us, we coast through our lives assuming it'll all work out in the end. We could blame our parents for not setting up a system that prepares us for that, but we can just as well blame ourselves for not recognizing it. But blame doesn't accomplish anything in the end. The only thing left is to recognize we let this happen, and stand up and fix it.
Myself included. And Kaczynski is an interesting pick... worth reading up on his backstory. That doesn't justify his actions, but it puts them in context that contemporary media was more than glad to avoid.

RickO3611
That's thectruth. Once people start saying "fuck you fat boy" it's game over. FUCK TRUMP
SeekerOfFire
Yes. The world has always been rudderless. It really is just a bunch of people pretending to be adults trying and failing in whatever way they feel is best. That's all this reinforces. And it's a lesson humanity as a whole will never actually learn.
Though I am a pessimist. I could just be wrong.
KommanderKayriel
No one wants to be martyred. We don't care enough about each other to be nationally angry if one person dies, especially since we live in a police state and that person will be demonized as a terrorist. Standing up for them is no longer a heroic thing to do, but evil following evil, in the words of the CEOs and politicians.
GoAheadAndDownvoteYouFlippingFascist
You're talking like one of the good ones. Remember there is something we can do, there are some people here who are very vulnerable, do whatever you can to help hide them. And thank you
KommanderKayriel

TheLark
Yeah, but almost every other democracy has the concept of "non-confidence' where a government that can fall and a new election is needed. Yours is just broken
Redbulloth
While it's true, that could help in times like now, out also means we haven't had a situation like Italy's of averaging one of those about every 1.1 years since WW2
Eiladar

Eiladar
With him, there's not much written in as far as what their options are if he simply refuses to do what they say. In fact, they're the ones who gave him the tacit immunity when SCOTUS decided that presidents couldn't be tried for official decisions.
Redbulloth
To be fair on the executive orders, FDR issued 3,721, Woodrow Wilson 1,803, Calvin Coolidge 1,203, etc. It's more of a recent trend to back off (since Harry Truman), and Jimmy Carter in his 4 years had 320. Trump in his first term had 220, and so far 124 this term. The issue is the blatant disregard for law or reason many of his particular EOs have had so far this term.
Eiladar
Very true; but it also bears mentioning that both Wilson and FDR had wars going on (WW1 and 2 respectively), and FDR was also trying to recover from the Depression on his plate too; so there was a need to get things done quickly. You are right, though, in that the nature of Trump's holds a lot of weight - as well as the fact that he's been told to back off on some of them but has refused to do so.
cgt9803
Most people in powerful positions who posture as "leaders" and "thinkers" are really just herd-following sheep good at organizational political games.
PirateArrrgument
You talk an awful lot of shit for someone who doesn't have to get the blood on their hands. Nobody here wants to kill fellow Americans, and that's what your proposition will boil down to. That's why we're exhausting every possible avenue of legal action we can before we reach for the guns, because it's not your family, it's ours. It's not your aunt and uncle, it's not your baby sister and her husband, it's mine. Fuck you and the high horse that dragged you in.
NotSleepingNow
Up here in Canada, some of us are seriously half expecting Trump to start putting tanks at the border and ship/fly troops to the other border in Alaska.
I will tell you that my family and I are prepared to stand and fight. We're not young or healthy but we know a line needs to be drawn, and if y'all down there let him come this way, there are things worth dying for. We have total sympathy for the Americans who have seen that Trump is only greed, self-interest, and bad news.
GoAheadAndDownvoteYouFlippingFascist
Remember there is something we can do, there are some people here who are very vulnerable right now, do whatever you can to help hide them. And thank you
mksu
Are you an oligarch or just illiterate?
PirateArrrgument
Neither, I have family who've been sucked into the Trump cult. And when the fighting starts, they're the ones who are gonna fight and die against people trying to protect their freedoms because they've been brainwashed by mass media. The oligarchs will laugh and fly out of the country with all their wealth while we bury our dead and study through the wreckage. We HAVE to find a solution that doesn't blow the whole fucking country to rubble.
PresldentClef
Its possible the rest of us, including yourself, are also scared and emotionally stunted. No one wants to be a martyr until that last straw breaks your back. Everyone says how easy it would be to just organize and deal with the problem but no one does, implying either the task is difficult, or we're not so far removed from the dumb fucks we gave power to.
PrincessBatCat
Not to mention that it's never that easy to just get up and organize. People seem to forget how huge the US actually is, how difficult it is trying to organize at a national level, or even organizing locally while trying to align with other groups and states. That's not even touching on the fact that you don't talk about details here, even if everyone just points fingers without ever offering an actual solution that doesn't boil down to asking people to go throw their life away.
mksu
When I say "emotionally stunted," I mean they're people who have failed to develop in key ways because they haven't heard "no" nearly enough in their lives. Look at Musk. Normal people are never stunted in that way. It's just rich bastards and weirdo cultists.
PresldentClef
Touche, well said.
NotSleepingNow
Not enogh 'No', not enough self-denial and delay of gratification because it DOES develop character, and patience/working for something makes us stronger & better prepared gor whrn life says NO. EASY is never ultimately cheap, the costs must be paid one wsy or another because thrre must be balance.
softbrickofironfeathers
you don't need to organize, just don't vote for the idiot, it was the second chance people got and they blew it, now they have to live with the consequences AGAIN https://media2.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1YmFmcTZ4cWR0eXd0azZ6NWl3eHppcDZvdm1pZDk1ZHZoZnE5dDNtaCZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/BBkKEBJkmFbTG/200w.webp
PrincessBatCat
It's not the entire solution though. They cheated to get the win the second time with voter suppression, they'll almost certainly do so again if we even have a chance to vote next time.
T3sl4co1l
The problem is, very much, none of us having the constitution to reject this. We've had it way too easy for way too long; without anything to challenge us, we coast through our lives assuming it'll all work out in the end. We could blame our parents for not setting up a system that prepares us for that, but we can just as well blame ourselves for not recognizing it. But blame doesn't accomplish anything in the end. The only thing left is to recognize we let this happen, and stand up and fix it.
Altanese
Okay so does that include you or are you gearing up to be a modern Kaczynski or Oswald?
T3sl4co1l
Myself included. And Kaczynski is an interesting pick... worth reading up on his backstory. That doesn't justify his actions, but it puts them in context that contemporary media was more than glad to avoid.
