Easy to do. I mean first you need to plan ahead, get someone to film you while you make the mistake. But once you have that, then just follow the plan and make your mistake.
Nice cosplay of a photographer. But, to quote Morbo, DSLRs DO NOT WORK THAT WAY! For such a photo, he would have taken test pics and would have seen nothing through the window, and would have figured that out. Also would probably have a tripod and maybe flash, etc.
But... I'm also the type of person to overanalyze things.
I don't see how this happens, especially for shots like this. You line everything up, take a few shots to check the exposure, framing, etc. And look through the view finder throughout.
