When I got my shiba she was only 6 pounds and I was always nervous walking her because I've seen hawks snatching up rabbits around me. Fortunately never happened though.
is it just me or is the person taking this video a real jerk? you see the predatory animal watching your pet, you PUT YOUR PET ON THE DASHBOARD to taunt the predatory animal, not only do you scare the poor kitty, but the bird expends energy it needs to get a meal only to be duped for internet views. so not one but two animals experience discomfort.... for fake internet points. this is just wrong all over the place.
Well even disregarding the potential they deliberately baited the hawk, the moment I saw it happen I would have scooped up the kitty and cuddled it because it would probably have been frightened and I'd want to comfort the poor thing and make it feel safe :(.
This is why cats should be indoor pets. Nevermind the damage they do to whatever ecosystem they're set free on or the songbird populations they decimate.... Predatory animals will absolutely pick them off with no hesitation. Keep your cats safe. Keep them indoors.

Just to add to the dangers : FIV(Feline immune virus) spreads through bites, as does FLV(feline leukemia virus). There are cat haters who will kill cats just cause they can, Cars, and the fact cat's kidneys suck and many things are poison to them. Plants from the True Lily family are extremely toxic to cats, even just the pollen can cause fatal issues. (Many plants with lily in the name are not True Lily)

I wouldn't say it's an easy choice not to. It's quite a drastic lifestyle choice I'd be making to go completely meat free. I honestly feel like my desire for meat choices is a form of mild addiction. After a while I would definitely crave steak or burgers.
