My what a surprise. Not.

The orange clown has done more than any government mandate to get people into EVs LOL. Big oil will be wanting a refund from him soon.

weird how iran isn't allowed to engage in "proactive self-defense" against israel or our carriers...

"Back on"? As far as I can tell, it never stopped.

You know how to really defend the forces? Get them the fuck out of the area.

President of peace, ladies and gentlemen. Making sure to align strikes when markets are open.

I distinctly remember Trump saying on a few occasions, "We could end this war at any time. We're so superior to Iran. We could erase their civilization, as if they never existed."

Funny how he simply won't end it. The USA is supposed to be so powerful and capable, right?

Of course, this war is illegal now. 60 days have come and gone. No Congressional approval. Trump is a war criminal. Nobody should believe anything he says.

Trump Pump and Dump of stocks again

For a war that is finished (and did not need Congress' approval), there sure is a lot of warmongering still going on

Sure, all the other red-hatted Nazis.

I've long known him to be a liar, and always assumed what he says are exaggerations.

Today? It's worse. I think everything he says is false, or misinformation. I'm sick of his egotistical rants and pathetic disparagements of others. He's obscene. He's criminal. He should be in prison, the fucker.

America puts the Fire in Cease Fire.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Iran knows that the USA doesn't do good faith negotiations anymore. They fully expect an attack.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The US is only showing restraint because they have no munitions for another round of sustained fire.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never believe a Trump

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

im not an expert but im pretty sure that if you strike targets during a ceasefire, the ceasfire is over.

3 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Not if they're defensive strikes /s

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trumpist leadership are used to having rules that restrain their victims from fighting back. In their minds, a ceasefire is "you cease firing at me" not "we cease firing at each other."

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Us and Israeli logic is you can do whatever strikes you want during a ceasefire as long as you claim one of two conditions. The other side already broke it by breathing or you had to in self defense.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

just using russian terminology

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m starting to think that they don’t exactly know what cease-fire actually means.

Come on, there's only one last step for Iran to be wiped off the face of hte earth, those crazy bastards: Iran to agree to return to the state things were in before, but now they can charge tolls too.

How it that not a very clear win for America?!

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's an Israeli ceasefire.

3 months ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

Trump asked UAE to include Israel in the ceasefire .... like what?

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Lol, like anyone would ever believe them even if they signed something.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"The missiles we fired unprovoked during the cease fire."

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’d be great if they started tagging the white house back, I mean, why not? What is trumo going to do? Promise a ceasefire and bombard them with missiles that can’t be replenished for years?

3 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

1.) Iran doesnt have have capabilities to strike the US 2.) the US already was already switching over to gravity bombs. So it would be just bombing them indefinitely

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

*Iran doesn't have the conventional means.

The drone genie is out of the bottle and the Iranian military has been learning a shitload from the Russians in Ukraine (Everyone has)
That said, if the IRGC did have someone try to launch a drone at the white house or Mar'alago, even with something as light as a cherrybomb as a "We can touch you anywhere" it would probably be very hard to keep Trump from insisting an actual nuke gets put in Tehran, and everyone on the Iranian side knows iot.

3 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Fair but also doing that might still be out of Irans reach. Maralago maybe. Its prohibited to fly drones in DC and with the air space so heavily monitored, any commercial drone they bought here would be jammed instantly. They would need they own drones smuggled in several teams operating multiple drones as DC does considerable air defense systems around and for that would be to maybe have a chance to get near the white house

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is kind of what I meant, not 30 million dollar missiles fired indiscriminately by the stupidest fat bitch that ever lived. They are defeating the most powerful navy to ever exist with a couple thousand dollars and a dream. They could figure a bunch of somethings out by trial and error. Probably maralago though

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Very different situations. They are "defeating" most powerful navy to ever exist indirectly because all it takes is 1 cheap done to hit a tanker and all other tankers stop moving. Smuggling in swarms of drones and teams to operate said drones and launching at a target who airspace is heavily monitored is a very different animal that I dont think Iran has the capabilities to do. It far easier to launches 100s of drones from your shores and hope a couple of them survive and get near a ship

honestly $7 dollar average gas prices in the US will do wonders to shift people to hybrids and eletrictic vehicles

3 months ago | Likes 144 Dislikes 12

"Ugh, where are all these electric trains to downtown the LLLLLLIBERALS were saying they were going to build?"

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Someone selling lots of Teslas? They did an ad for those things at the white house, not?

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In afraid to get solar because that could make me a target in five years. I want an electric car and I think I could make it work with a garage.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I miss my hybrid niro but an airbag went off when an idiot hit it and the insurance company called it a total loss and would not sell it back to me.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

im thinking of getting solar installed next year and an electric car a few years later.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cost of electricity will soar just like gasoline.

Even $5 murdered the blossoming Hummer market. Every dealership in our state permanently closed. You used to see one nearly every time you went out and in the last year I've seen two and one was the EV Hummer.

Many will refuse to give up their pickups and SUVs and gladly pay it while still believing this administration is doing the right thing.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does that include the delivery drivers for grocery stores?

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Keep dreaming. The problem is, we don’t have the infrastructure to support electric vehicles in the way that we need to due to decades of Republican policy thrusting us backwards in time away from renewable energy.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Too bad all the green energy subsidies got cut in the big ugly bill.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"DT has done more to stimulate EV's than any other president!" (Only using alternating caps and a pic of an angry duck but I'm too lazy to type that on my phone)

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I really can't afford to replace my car right now. It works. It's reliable. It's not as fuel efficient as I'd like, but I don't commute, so... I'm driving less. I'm walking and bicycling more. I'm also buying less. I'm holding off on buying a new TV. I'm in "boycott" mode. Fuck Trump.

3 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

This is my response when I pull up in my Yukon xl. "That is so inefficient to drive right now, you should get a little commute car" I have devolved into replying something like " sure thing do you want to give me the money for a replacement car now or do we need to head to the bank first?"

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fun fact, in the UK we are over $8 / US gallon. In the Netherlands, that is over $10 / US gallon.

Thanks, guys.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

and solar power too

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Like other people have pointed out, most people who can see which way the wind is blowing can't afford a new car and this isn't going to do anything to convince people who are opposed to cleaner alternatives for culture war reasons.
Like not to be a doomer, but this won't fix the problem. Never stop pointing to this as a strong reason *to* fix the problem, but it won't just magically get fixed by people seeing the light, it will take years of work still.

The US have striked a school and killed over a hundred children and you guys are talking about changing cars ><

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Surprising, I know, but life has many sides. And there's a place and time for any of them. Discussing one doesn't mean we are ignorant to the other. Time and place.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Can you point out a post where you guys talk about your country murdering children ? I can't find any.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

There are numerous posts about it, every day. It's really difficult to miss them. Which means that you are probably a troll.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You didn't point out any. I'm not a troll. I'm tired of American signalling their virtue and posting Luigi memes while carefully avoiding to talk about what their country is doing

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

The infrastructure is not there for everyone to do it, plus AI is taking up grid space yay!

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Almost all charging is done at off peak hours (night time) the infrastructure argument is stupid as hell.

It's extremely easy to put in more fast chargers as well, so much simpler than a gas station.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Our overhead cables have an option to have a massive upgrade but they haven't done it. If anything I'm also making the argument similar to below in this thread. That is a lot of people are still not able to afford the move to electric. If we don't upgrade our infrastructure aggressively I think we will be behind the demand

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Even if I wanted to drop many thousands of dollars to buy a electric vehicle, which I don't, my apartment complex has no place to charge them. I suspect a large percentage of the population, who also rents, faces the same challenge.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I currently make either $15/hr (regular shift) or $30/hr (private event) PLUS tips and I can't even afford to buy a new tire after I got a flat 2 weeks ago leaving the ER where my kid was. I look at the medical bills flooding in now and just kind of laugh because the idea that I'm now close to 30k in debt is just hilariously absurd. We're back at my mom's and are pretty damn frugal. Like, I felt like I splurged by buying beef for the first time this year yesterday. Fuck this place.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Indeed, but the infrastructure is still severely lacking.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It should be normally 7-8 as everywhere else. Now we pay 12 because of American chums

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Let’s see…who’s one of the biggest sellers of EVs? Oh, if it ain’t ol’ musky. I guess he’ll be benefiting from this? Hmmm…conspiracy? Maybe? Yeah, all of this makes everything sound very questionable.

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

His goal is fleet vehicles and everyone else is beating him to the punch. I doubt he can even dump them on the Taliban now

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except we are bot going to be able to charge them even if we could affor them, ai data cebters gobbling up the electricity off a grid that hasnt been upgraded since the 70s

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Is he? Ford was demolishing them for years. And you don't have to buy Tesla... You aren't going to get stuck with something incompatible. Everything's been great about having adapters as worst case scenario

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The thing about EVs (in the US at least) is that they are still the dominant/standard/benchmark that people go with. While other companies have produced them, I can bet you Tesla is the first/top consideration before the others are looked at. That in itself gives Tesla an advantage.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

China on the other hand, has a lot of choices, BYD being a major contender and choice vs Tesla. But the issue for China is, they actually have more EV options so Tesla has to be more competitive unlike the US. The other thing is, China isn’t as affected by this current Iran shenanigans as a lot of other countries are due to their political and foreign policies…one of which is close ties with Russia thus they can and do buy Russian oil.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

definitely not a conspiracy. The war hawks in congress have been wanting a war with Iran for decades for thier own reasons. Elon bought Telsa because he was right at the time that EVs would be the future. Which there are. There was always gonna be a moment when the world realises its probably a good idea to switch over. Trump just caused it because he is a moron

3 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I can't even afford a 20yr old used car if I needed one (they're still over $10k) there's no way I will ever be able to afford a hybrid/electric

3 months ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 3

I got lucky with a very reliable car that is fun to drive and fairly reasonable fuel mileage wise. Bought it new... 19 years ago! I made better money back then. I can't afford a new car now. I am babying this thing and hoping it stays reliable. If it fails on me... I'm toast!

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Expect no one has money to buy them.

3 months ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 4

And even when they do, dealerships refuse to sell them(they make the bulk of their money on servicing vehicles, and EVs are generally less maintenance intensive, so they'll either do/lie about everything they can to dissuade you, or just refuse to sell anything that does have a gas tank).

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Pretty much. People stuck in vehicle loans they are upside down in, and electric vehicle costs are absolutely insane to begin with. Dealers and banks will not go over a particular loan to value ratio so if you are like me, you're stuck in whatever vehicle you own unless you file for bankruptcy and then good luck getting an ev for like 7 years after that because the us needs a fuck ass credit score to do anything anymore. Glad I moved to Europe.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I really liked the Ford lightning, and was sad it's been discontinued. I want an electric vehicle with some type of cargo ability; doesn't have to be a lot because I'm not a contractor and I ain't haulin' shit but I wanted some space. And I'm sorry, the rivian truck is ugly as shit. Here's hoping the increase in demand does what economists say it always does, and lowers prices overall. Maybe, Maybe, maybe we'll see. Maybe.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Expect the market to shift in the next few years, it was moving slowly even with the entire industry and right wing of our government fighting it. But the dear leader made it super obvious how fickle our gas prices really are to all but the most extreme holdouts.
I expect most of the auto makers to at least put some effort into affordable EVs as demand is already rising, going from niche to mainstream.

3 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

We should have done hydrogen cars instead of lithium. Not only are lithium batteries highly flammable death traps. The mining of precious metals will destroy the planet wherever the mines exist.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

exactly

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Well, look at Asia and Europe. Especially Asia. The US is way behind in this regard.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Let's not kid ourselves. The US is way behind on everything that is even remotely related to something progressive. But that's because the oligarchs can't properly monetise it, and it means they have to spend their money to be able to do so. So they'd rather just lobby for all of that to just not happen because that is cheaper to them.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That'll be great in 15 or 20 years when they're on the used market for people who can only afford used cars

3 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Let BYD sell cars in America and suddenly there will be a demand for modestly priced EVs that even the business idiots in charge won't be able to ignore.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And that'll blow up in the faces of the folks that can't afford new vehicles because EV battery packs in particular have finite usable lifespans and can cost a LOT of money to replace, and repairs/maintenance on them is very much NOT DIY-friendly and often requires specialized tooling. There's much less benefit to a used EV for the working poor than a used ICE or to a lesser extent a hybrid.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

10 yr old used electric can still get like 300km per charge. that is more than enough for daily use, and charge up in 8 hr or less at home.
