Actually one of the peculiarities of Springfield is that they use the "normal" system of recording dates.... sobhis birthday is actually in mid December
There was a recent episode where, I think Abe, started a sentence with something like "You know, back in the 30s...or 50s...or whatever makes sense these days.."
You guys have all missed something simple, state IDs have the state listed BIG on them not the city.. He's from Springfield, Springfield. There's a state called Springfield in this universe.
It is likely somewhere by a great lake, and based on the zip code the landmass is in the Michigan area. As the state is somehow both land locked and accessible for the Navy.
It looks like he got his license on 7/27/92 but it expires on his birthday. The implication being he drove around on an expired license for two and a half months.
I always assumed it was in Michigan because in an early episode Bart is trying to save money and he returns a single bottle to the Kwik-E-Mart. Apu asks if he wants to put it towards candy (or something like that, my memory is fuzzy), and Bart responds saying no he will take the dime.
One episode had them standing in 5 states holding hands, something that doesn't exist IRL (closest is 4). The movie had Ned saying that Springfield borders Nevada, Kentucky, Ohio, and Maine, a geographic impossibility (although Ohio does share a border with Kentucky). It's also a supposedly landlocked town, yet in some episodes they clearly have a coastline for an ocean.
Springfield, Oregon, borders Nevada, Springfield, Massachusetts, borders Maine. Springfield Indiana borders both Ohio and Kentucky AND has a shoreline on the Great lakes. Springfield for the Simpsons is a quantum superposition that is locked into whatever place is the most convenient for plot purposes.
and obviously Springfield Illinois, but thats my point. Springfield appears wherever its necessary to ensure it gets its story. But generally, its based off Springfield Oregon.
I think the joke has always been that Springfield exists in whatever real place that a Springfield actually exists. Like there are something like a dozen different Springfields across the US, and Simpsons takes place in whichever one is most plot convenient at the time. It's likely Ned references different states that border a state that has a Springfield in it.
I'm 6'2" and weighed 267 at the hospital yesterday. Mom had surgery this morning and it went well. She asked me to stop by her favorite Chinese restaurant and I ordered grilled chicken and vegetables. It was swimming in oil. I'm trying to be healthy! :)
It really depends on your build. My husband is (was, thank you drunk driver shithead) a runner and a fencer and he's at a good weight around 190 at 6'2". We have another friend who's the same height and 220 is good for him.
It was especially awful as the guy was driving on a suspended license (for DUI) in his sister's car with no insurance. I hope he dies a particularly horrible death.

240 at 6 feet? That's only overweight as opposed to obese

He should be a grandfather now with teen or grown grandkids

He's 6' and TWO FORTY and he has a stomach that size? Press X to doubt, holy shit, he needs to be closer to 300.
unluckyandbored
I'm 6'1" and 240 and nowhere near as fat as Homer is..

It's probably his old weight. They rarely update that info on your documents.

In 13 years, he'll be as old as Abe was in the first season of the show.

When the Simpsons started in 1989 I was younger than Bart and now I'm about to be older than Homer
iConfirmAnythingAndEverything
Older than homer would be if he aged normally? Or older than homer in season 1?
poscduke
Older than homer in season 1 when he was (he's 39 apparently)
iConfirmAnythingAndEverything
That makes sense

Happy 71st birthday!

Nunavut is NU. NT would be Northern Territory, in Australia, so somewhere between Darwin and Alice Springs

It's obese, to be specific
TheobromineAddict
Medically specific, yes.

6' and 240 sounds like our president's specs in his fitter and trimmer Home Alone 2 days.
ZenMonkey48
Honestly it may have been his HS weight and he never bothered to update it.

He was pretty think in high school if I'm remembering my Simpsons correctly.

Yeah. Barney was jealous of how much Homer could eat without gaining any weight.

He was pretty normal in high school. The weight came later

Insanity. Did he even get charged with anything? Me too, hopefully a tree, and lets say there's a fire, and the car is too twisted up to escape from.
textilelover
He did. He spent 6 months in jail. Which is less time than my husband spent in ICU learning how to walk and talk again. Fire is good.
