If you have nothing nice to say don't day it all

The fact it's not a 2/2 for 2 is bugging me.

Ahh, classic "bear" rules...

Even though the minimum cost is 2, the extra invincibility abilities make up for the reduced power and toughness.

One could play it with X=0, they'd just have to sac it before it could attack.

Actually this situation has popped up a bunch, it would stay alive indefinitely. Because there are no counters you cant remove one.

I believe the phrasing is wrong in the card. It should say "if there are no counters at the beginning of maintenance" or something similar

It should have fading X, it would make the rules a bunch simpler.

Not always. You'll find creatures with P/T ratings much lower than their Mana costs. There's a trade off.

Yes always. Do you not know the lingo? A bear is any creature that is a 2/2 with a cmc of 2 IE GW hatebears entire base.

First mana -> 1/1. The other mana goes towards paying off the abilities like Hexproof and Indestructible. They incentivize the player to pay

Leonin Arbiter is a Cat. Gaddock is a Kithkin. This is a Tardigrade

Oh sorry, guess I don't know the lingo

I see your point now. Would bother me too, but I didn't want to make it too imbalanced.
