#34 DK publishing was the shit. I was homeschooled and had atleast 20 of their books before the interwebs. High quality and beautiful works of art that helped shape my education. Mad props.

#11 I’m putting me heels right on those things. That is disgusting. If they didn’t move their feet, I would get them kicked off the plane. If I have to get thrown off in the process, so be it

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Looks like it wouldn't be the first time those feet have been stamped on. They look all kinds of fucked up

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you carry a water bottle on (bought past security gate), you can dribble it on their feet. Will likely creep them out.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#22 What's wrong with Peggy?

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 3

That only convers Lois.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

True that. My mistake. Functioning on very little brain cells this evening. I see nothing much wrong with peggers. She's got flaws, but not to be called a bad wife to hank

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mean, she can be spiteful, has a huge ego, and can be a little controlling sometimes. That said, she loves her friends and family dearly and does what she can to take care of them, generally obeys the law, demonstrates the ability to change her behavior when she realizes she's doing something wrong, and is loyal to Hank. I'd rate her as a good wife. Not perfect, but good.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

"Demonstrates the ability to change her behavior when she realizes she's doing something wrong." Keyword being "when."

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At one point she kidnapped a Mexican child.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That was an accident! And come on, who hasn't accidentally kidnapped a Mexican kid?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Peggy is in my top 5 most hated TV show characters. Condescending, know it all (which is played for laughs since she is, arguably, one of the least intelligent characters on the show), refuses to admit when she's wrong, racist--all under the guise of her trying to be nice and help people. Which is good! Because that was the role they wanted her to be. So it worked. King of the Hill is a great show. She does love her family, though.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Came down to the comments to find several people asking the same question!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

#31 IIRC this is Runescape skill progression. 92 is halfway to 99.

In other words: it takes the same amount of XP to get to lvl 99 from 92 as it does to get from lvl 1 to 92. (Around 6,500,000 xp)

2 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

Makes sense based on the font.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

To back up you statement. That is written in a classic runescape font.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I remember in Mass Effect 1, the top level (60) is over twice of level 56.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks for the explanation, but I feel like 9 is half of 99.

2 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 1

9 is indeed one half of the two 9 characters needed to type the number 99.

Think it's roughly the same for FFXI and FFXIV online games.. level cap used to be 75 in FFXI (for the first 10 years of the game) and iirc 70 was half-way to 75, or thereabouts

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The xp quantity might fit that, but leveling from 90-100 (ie the most recent expac) in FFXIV is a pretty short affair if you choose to be efficient. It's not a very grindy game in general. All of the FFXI veterans I know will tell you XIV is a vastly different experience.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have to make a correction/clarification to the post;
I tried playing late 04 but my computer wasn't capable of a decent framerate so I didn't get far.. I started seriously playing when I saw an advertisement for rise of the zilart being released, it reminded me of the game.
Then, by RotZ's release, my system was capable of playing it smoothly.
(Just wanted to clarify)

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh it absolutely is, XIV is a cakewalk in a great many aspects compared to XI. I started XI in late 2004, and I finally stopped in late 2015.. started XIV as a 1.0 preorder player, and still play occasionally.

In the XI scene, specifically the PC players, I was actually somewhat famous as a 3rd-party-developer, part of the Windower dev team starting all the way back with Azrael and then StarHawk when Azrael handed the project over.

1000s of hours wasted dev'ing for an ungrateful community.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Always demanding this or that, complaining about this or that, and almost never a "Thank you" from any of the tens of thousands of users and followers.

I mean this quite literally; a single "thank you" would quell the frustration and fuel me for another week of development and updates, that's how infrequent they were.

Stopped active development when my buddy (creator of ApRadar) also stopped. Once he, StarHawk and Nitsuj were done, I was too. Got lots of pissed emails bcz I stopped free dev.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That wasn't the only one either, was also briefly part of the NifSkope/Tools dev team that wrote the tools allowing the conversion and import/export of bethesda's model format into and out of blender. (So Skyrim, FO-3/NV/4, all using our blender plugin and Nif tools)-
I worked specifically on the plug-in allowing import/export of Skyrim and Fallout model format in blender.

My free dev contributions go all the way back to the late '90s with eDuke32 (DukeNukem3D) and zDoom/GL

I been around lol

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I showed this thread to one of the aforementioned XI players. They asked that I send a belated but heartfelt thanks, and added that "Windower was a lifesaving 3p plugin".

I dont think it will surprise you that XIV players that use plugins are often the same; vocal if it isnt exactly how they want it, silent when theyre satisfied.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's surprising, thank you for doing that.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

she doesn't know how to drive manual and asked someone who does while she was writing "whats the thing you use to shift gears in a manual transmission car?" Also her editor doesn't drive manual.

2 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

IMHO, the only editors now are named "spellcheck" and they can't read.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Maybe her experience with a clutch is in an Indycar. :)
Here's Colton Herta holding down the clutch paddles from his steering wheel.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That's the remote control. They just have mannequins in the cars to fool us.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Prettybsure those are called "shifter paddles" but i'll give everyone the benefit of the doubt since it's Spooktober

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

OK, did anyone here successfully read that as "shifter" on the first try?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rereading my own comment i thought i wrote "shitter"

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The top ones are shifter paddles, the bottom ones are clutch paddles, essentially the same thing as a clutch pedal.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

WHAAAAAAAAT benefit of the doubt rescinded, apologies

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I took that screenshot from this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96aLqIv1cgE
I think Indycars had a clutch pedal as long as they had a stick shift, but in the paddle-shift era you don't want to use that tight space in the footwell for a third pedal that ideally will only get used a couple times per race, as you launch out of your pitbox.

#22 infidelity, crime, bullying (including her own daughter). I saw a top 10 list with specifics, but I can’t be bothered to look it up. Oh, she also raped Peter once. He didn’t want it (was even wearing a chastity belt) and she forced herself on him.

I mean, Family Guy is kinda about a house full of horrible people being horrible. Chris is probably the least problematic member of the family, and he still has issues. While I know people love to hate the show, I did love it, but they ended up making Brian so wildly deeply horribly unlikable I couldn't watch anymore. American Dad is there for me at least.

2 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 1

Stan is the man..I love American Dad. 'The 200' episode intro is so damn beautiful..

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I think I gave up on Family Guy after the episode where they murder Quagmire's brother-in-law.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I think Brian grew much more likeable over time. He was a total douchebag the first seasons.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Weirdly, I remember sympathizing with Brian a lot more after that time Quagmire went off on him about him being self-righteous, hypocritical, and (worst of all!) boring. Sure, Quagmire made some good points, but that shit just felt mean!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That divide goes deep. Brian vs. Quagmire episodes are the best episodes.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok but what did Peggy do?!? I mean she kidnapped that kid one time but that was an accident

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

There was that time when she published a newspaper article advising people to combine the cleaning power of ammonia with the disinfecting ability of bleach to make a super effective household cleaner.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I'm there for it. Though, what's the beef with Peggy? I didn't watch all of King of the Hill but from what I saw she seemed like a decent, if somewhat flawed, individual. Honestly, a league above most folk I run into.

2 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

She started like that but as the show progressed they made her worse and worse.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She acts like she's smarter than everyone and is very condescending.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

When she's on the Alamo Beer hotline, taking complaints from Mexican customers, she's like "Now their Spanish wasn't great, but..."

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Or when she takes her class to a Carnicería and conflates it with a petting zoo.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Peggy is in my top 5 most hated TV show characters. Condescending, know it all (which is played for laughs since she is, arguably, one of the least intelligent characters on the show), refuses to admit when she's wrong, racist--all under the guise of her trying to be nice and help people. Which is good! Because that was the role they wanted her to be. So it worked. King of the Hill is a great show.

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

I never watched it, but fromwhat I've heard, apparently she's been sleeping with another guy behind the hisband's back too and her husband found out and she still does it even though it's a massive problem but the husband adopted the kid that came of it because both that kid and his own did nothing wrong and he wants to keep the family together for them alone? I've no interest in watching it and that makes me want to watch it even less, but still. Damn.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Yeah, as stated below, that's a different couple. Dale and Nancy.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0
