I live in a place with 3 units. We all help stock the delivery snack thing we leave out front, so it always has more than it needs in a day. Though we have to stop drinks during the winter lest they freeze and explode
We have a ton of "free shipping." Many large retailers will offer free shipping on orders on as low as a 35 USD purchase. Some also offer unlimited free shipping on any order for an annual subscription cost (~120 USD).
Our intranational logistics and goods transit system is remarkable given our obscene geographic size and population dispersal because of a phenomenal network of public and private transporters.
When I order stuff online, even if it's all from the same place, and even if I'd like it all to arrive as one shipment... that rarely happens. Most online stores are actually more like malls where actual stores or people are selling their things, and they're all shipped individually. Even big box stores may ship different parts of my order from different warehouses.
Right, I'm not questioning the gesture, I'm wondering why have so many deliveries instead of one big one.
If I don't order above like 500SEK (About 50USD) I usually have to pay like 50SEK per delivery, which isn't much for a couple but that adds up. which is why if I decided to order groceries or whatever I wait until I need to buy a lot.
When you have that kind of money, you can do that sort of thing. There's probably other reasons behind it, but some folks legit have "Meh, fuck it" money.
