What? No riots? How is this possible? This is _NOT_ filmed locally, where even when Morocco won there were riots.

American sports fans standing by and thinking, " But they won, shouldn't they be humiliating their opponents and beating their chests? C'mon, at least turn a few cars over and set some stuff on fire!"

Fun fact: None of the people in the video actually won anything.

It's a sport, no matter who wins you should show good sportsmanship and acknowledge the result. I will never understand nor excuse violence because someone lost or wins a game

I see you have never played monopoly with your family as a child... Well fancy dancy for you.

Good sportsmanship comes from understanding that it's just a game. No matter how much money, attention, or passion you give it: it's just sports.

Winning with grace and humility is an alien concept to US sportspeople.

There was SOOOO much fearmongering that whether the Moroccans won or lost, those living in Paris (and other big french cities) and Brussels (and other major European cities) would riot and fuck shit up. And what happened was... Some people got arrested for lighting fireworks or honking their car horns at night.

Maybe there was something in Paris? But nothing big enough to even be mentioned in non-local news bulletins.

Racism and 'fear of the stranger' is so manufactured...

I heard in the news that a teenage girl died in the north of France during the celebrations but I don't have details

The match between Morocco and Netherlands didn't go as smooth, lots of police got involved in at least 3 major cities, so there was at least some reason for concern about it getting worse for the match against France over there.

Honestly, it wasn't an overreach. The classic celebration of any victory within Paris usually includes the free-burning of cars and businesses.

Who cares it's all a waste of money

its entertainment, its supposed to brign joy to people.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

No. It's supposed to dull their critical thinking

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Like films and gaming too then?

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Some of them maybe. Some other st the opposite aim to strengthen your critical thinking. The only purpose of the FIFA is to dull the masses and profit from rempant corruption
