Born too late to buy a house at a reasonable price.

Born too early to live in a fully automated post work utopia.

Born right in time to see AI harnessed to ruin the fabric of society.

Clearly someone was inspired by the Ali G movie. https://youtu.be/EXr68efIFZs?si=t87gBLIRX-bSC20S

Funny back in the day there would be a post warning of that. It started "welcome to the internet, no one here likes you"

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I've seen that video, I'm 100% certain it's fake and just edited in certain ways to make it look like its AI

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's TikTok, 1. the video will get a bunch of views and 2. a bunch of would-be influencers will be lining up posting things like "where do I get my own horse I need to do the trend"

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It's already spyware. Delete tiktok.

If you watch the actual video it's still super janky.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

politics ruined the fabric of socienty, together with social networks beginning with facebook. Ai ist just making things so much easier.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

... AI takes still photo, and makes video from it

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yah i could of sworn this was still in its infancy, especially when it has to create information it has no reference of like the sides and back which it has to create out of nowhere

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its way way better at it now, the tech just isn't as widely spread. Advancements are coming very quickly now.

I don’t know what is happening here, nor do I even know what to Google to find out more

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still photo ran through AI makes realistic video of you doing whatever it wants, also they can make nudes, ect. Deep fakes. And it's scary

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish i could find the clip to share here... There is a scene in Distinguished Gentlemen (great film, btw) where Eddy Murphy accuses his competitor of sucking off a horse. It won't be long before this is a standard GOP practice.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Whats going on here?

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

Using generative AI, you can take someone’s likeness and create photorealistic images and videos of them in any pose you want (the pose is the little line man in the middle). It can’t really do seamless video yet, but it is getting there. You could definitely easily do still images, including ones showing lewd and/or illegal activities.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

From what I gather they date saying that if you piss some random person off online they can use a normal picture of you from your influencer account, apply AI, and kick out a realistic fake video of you doing something incredibly embarrassing. Weaponizing AI to ruin your life, scenario.

2 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

With just that image on the left, they are able to fully animate her to do whatever they want. Which will be used for bad things.

2 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

"Now draw her getting an education."

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Tks, i was lost.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

aaaand this is why there exists only 1 (one) photo of me that is digitized, and it's on physical storage and not connected to online.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

now, is that realistically a worry? fucking no, I'm fucking nobody. But I still don't want it out there.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Send me that photo and a horse you like and I'll make you somebody.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'll pass, but thanks.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No problem!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You right. Also you don't need to be celeb, if it's gonna be easy, somone who dislike you can do it as revenge or just to hurt you

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sometimes it's not even "I don't like this person", it can just be "I can do this and it gives me pleasure to wreck someone", there's no personal attachment involved.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"a fully automated post work utopia. " never gonna happen. certain people would rather the world cease to exist

2 years ago | Likes 111 Dislikes 8

Fortunately they are incapable of not buying social media networks and being a firebrand of assholery so they will be easy to locate and dissolve.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

This. They "need" poor people so they can be the rich ones.

2 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 3

It would be illogical to assume that all conditions remain stable

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Yeah but perhaps one day we'll realize those certain people are vastly outnumbered.

Not with that attitude it won't.

I mean, we will either all die or we will succeed in this eventually. It's kind of an ultimatum with automation technology advancing. 1/

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

We will all be service workers waiting on AI customers.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

That said, I wouldn't get your hopes up on our odds on that one. /2

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Hey. Either we all die or we get a utopia. It's a win-win!

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of DS9 when Quark is trying to get a 3D scan of Kira for holodeck suites.

2 years ago | Likes 206 Dislikes 0

Speaking of DS9, The Delta Flyers podcast just started their new season reviewing every episode of DS9. The podcast is hosted my the actors who did Harry and Tom from Voyager and Quark and Jadzia from DS9

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Isn't that the one where they switch the data and it's his own head on a sexy lady hologram? Been too long since I watched DS9.

I used to love trolling libertarians by listing a bunch of short sighted lunacy and then say if you think those are important issues then you should check out the lemon party at lemon party.org or whatever it was in the Live Leak comic section. Fuck those people lol.

How much for volume two? With Goatse, The Broom, Divorce Train and that jar squatting thing (not Star Wars, although it sounds like it).

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I don't think I've seen divorce train.....yet

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's quite an old one. Woman who was going through a divorce and obviously not handling it well walks in front of a train at a level crossing. There's the sudden realisation of what happens when something like a 1:10000 ratio happens on newtonian physics. A changing thing, and I've banged on about this precisely because I'd humbly suggest that some things are best left unknown.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you. I will take your word for it.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty soon it will take almost zero effort to make such videos look real. In the near future online videos will never be taken as things 1/

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Yep. The death of photo / video evidence. they will be as credible as witness testimony. i.e. anyone can lie if they wanna.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Witness testimony is infeliable under the best of circumstances

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Socially, yes, legally no. We will for a long time coming be able to decipher real from fake photographic and video evidence submitted. I imagine populists like Trump will continue to rail on actual evidence as fake though, muddying the waters like always.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

people you know actually did, even if their depiction is spread throughout a whole account posting videos. An image is all ya need now. /2

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

A friend of mines already been a victim of this shit. She turned down a dude who asked her out, and he started posting nudes of her all over her social media. They all got taken down, but people saw. AND SHE NEVER HAD NUDES, he just ran a pic through AI

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I personally still think you need more than one image, you’d still need side profile and back if you want it to be an Actual created video or a person or else a lot of it is just made up characteristics

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

It can’t even really do consistent details yet. Videos generated by AI tend to look like rotoscoped animation. But it’s definitely something that will be possible within the next five years.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The thing is that AI will be able to use anyone's face, and then throw it on a similar body type, doesn't need to be exact to elicit the same response as if it was real, and there are plenty of videos to train body types on. Semantics aside, it will be a big enough issue that phishing using AI to create fake videos of people and haggling for money or they post them will be a thing. Social media sites will need a phishing tag to slap accounts with, and friends can't see accounts you flag as such.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

The hideous thing is that this is going to be used on minors. Then it's really going to be a fucking shitshow on the legality of it all.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, and while it is controversial, I hope AI does not get get curbed in its use, just that production of such stuff gets treated the same as normal CP, so it at least gets banished to the darkweb.
