These are the best.. one of my favorite memories from a recent trip was spending a late night at the hostel's rooftop with a bunch of other travelers, plenty of booze and a guitar. I suspect our singing was pretty horrible to sober people, but who cares ;)

If you're near a metropolitan area, your library may have instruments you can borrow. Worth a shot! Or, if you have musician friends, you might know someone that has an extra guitar that they could lend to you until you can get your own!

Also, baritone ukuleles are tuned to DGBE and are significantly cheaper than guitars. I recommend the bari uke to anyone who is interested in guitar because the four strings, compact size, and relative similarity in finger positions make it a great travel and/or learning instrument!

I worked music sales for a while. It's easy to sell a quality uke. I'm just like in the paycheck to paycheck area atm
