Onwards & upwards, Buttercup!

TLDR: We're gonna put this up too, to save time. Just read the meme.

Long version: Go get some popcorn, bc this is gonna take a bit. Grab some water while you're at it.

So, I have been at my job (former job) since Spring. Wasn't that big of a deal, wasn't that big of a career move. I needed a job, they offered me one, fine, whatever.

Problems started showing up rather quickly. Equipment wasn't working like it should. Batteries in our equipment were supposed to be ordered, & I was being told that they would "order 6 sets of batteries, but we would only get one or two." Computers that would refuse to function, printers that wouldn't print, touchscreens that would stop registering touches. If I brought up any of these concerns, all I would get is "oh, yeah, we know", or (even better) "I don't care enough about this place to fix it."

Then my 90 day eval time came... & went... no eval... & I wasn't even talked to about if I would be getting the raise I was promised at 90 days, not even to tell me that I wasn't bc I had too many things that needed to be improved.

Then I applied for management. & after months of begging for an interview, I was told "I don't feel comfortable promoting you bc it would affect your disability checks."

That's when the real bullying started. I have kept as quiet as I'm ever going to. And before anyone says "wait, that's illegal!", yeah, no shit. But unless someone has the funds to pay for a lawyer to take my case, & the case for the other confirmed 2 people she's pulled this shit with, I'm walking away. The store has been alerted that there was paperwork filed with the EEOC, & with the state civil rights board. But since everyone seems to think we all are just frothing with the funds to pay a private lawyer to take on discrimination cases, & fight it in court... I'm choosing my health over trying to prove a legal point.

Besides, I know I'm better than her bullshit anyway. Fucking 10$/hr to have flashbacks to the most hellish part of my teenage years, bc some 42 yr old teenager wants to try & relive the glory days? She might want to grow up a little, before more of her actual kids end up on MTVs Teen Mom, before they're even old enough to drive their baby momma to their WIC appointments.

I digress.

I quit today. Told my manager that I was done, I was out, & the only reason I'm not dragging the store thru a courtroom is bc I can't afford the legal fees. Then walked out with my head held high, knowing full well that the gossip about me would start, just as soon as my back was turned.

The teenagers never really get over themselves.

Went & ran a bunch of errands with a girlfriend, came home, & finally got to check my email... to discover that a friend of mine on the west coast finally got his company to get their shit together.

Bc there's a job offer in my inbox.

Got some forms to fill out, but nothing too serious. The benefits package is almost screaming-orgasm-inducing, tho. But, don't want to jinx it, so don't want to say the company name just yet. I'll update you as soon as I have news about that, promise.

Angy kitteh. He's mad bc he had cuddles from my girlfriend, & when I got back home, she wasn't with me. Dude threw a 2hr long tantrum when he realised she wasn't here, before ignoring me for 4 hrs, & then resorting to sulking.
