Huh. I was wondering what Bill Cosby was doing these days.
AceOfNines
What, that's just a plain American deer rodeo; you've never been to one?
babykinz
Falcon hunting , its a thing.
Snooj
Well, I can tell you that very little haberdashery is going on. And hemoglobin is only involved incidentally.

And how does this dude humanly put the deer down??? What does he do club it to death? Cause if that's the case ...he's an asshole!!!
Donku83
If you watch the clip, you can clearly see he just charges on in and chokes it out. Either cruel or humane depending on the deer's fetishes
CatchingBubbles
Oh deer...
Xannos
Roe Jogan needs to see this
Jamie pull that up

I wouldn't do my voice over with Bill Cosby's voice. Just sayin'.

I understand the confusion, much is lost in pixelation.

Narrated by Tony Baker. He did that chubby wood chuck video, and a lot of other voice overs. Funny dude.

Yep, Tony Baker :)
This is great thank youu

What would the eagle's endgame be if the guy were't there to come and strangle it? Nibble it's bum until it dies of embarrassment?
ladybuglauren
This is my question.
jelladelta
Ok. When sir Attenborough retires in 300 yrs, this dude needs to take over as the official bbc nature docu narrator.
Tony Baker :)

Wouldn't the fear ruin the meat?
MichaelCBennett
he took it alive... maybe he plans to sooth it and calm it down and give it false hope first.
MKUltraMega
I’ll have my meat with EXTRA FEAR, thank you very much
Fargus57
No. You do want to avoid bladder and gut shots though. Usually won't ruin the meat but it can make cleaning the kill a lot tougher.

Downvotes are vegans
iusedtodream
Not vegan. I just think it's sick to torture animals for fun.
Torture and fun aren't the only ways to hunt. Many do it for food, and most instant kill.
I am well aware. I'm not against hunting, provided the kill is necessary and not for sport.
ksac62
If I had the time and money I would get into falconry hunting. Just small game though, this shits crazy
[deleted]
JudgementalMan
Honestly once the birds trained its probably much easier to use the bird.
RogueFlamingo
I agree. But also nature isn't humane. Probably less painful than getting gutted by a mountain lion or something
eathotdog
Deer fight for life all the time,ya ever see wolves take down a deer or elk
FireRoastedFire
Humane for the deer, absolutely, but falconry is a noble pursuit and helps save threatened and endangered birds if prey. But yes.
TituzzzD
You sound a lot like a lobbyist for falconry. What is so noble about it and why does it save threatened and endangered birds?
Not a lobbyist, or maybe I am, but it's just a misunderstood profession. A good number of large bird of prey species are on decline, and 1/?
Most people see it as cruel, when a good majority of falcons and hawks don't like to breeding age. Falconry helps by raising these birds 2/3
GrosseChung
At least the deer gets a fair chance
deathclamfive
Hunting isn't about giving the animal a chance, its about using the meat to survive.
dwilson0725
No no, i think we should give that guy a rock so the deer has a chance... Haha
goawayprofile
A medium sized deer against a trained golden eagle and human isnt much of a chance tho.
Not that I'm against deer hunting. Just dont think it's about giving the deer a chance
LookHarder80085
It's not "about that" but you gotta admit the chance of out running or juking the bird is better than dodging a bullet
neoritter
Idk, I think hunting today stresses the most humane, restrict pain and stress to the animal. This seems a very stressful and painful way
MustardDuck
Also seems very dangerous for the bird.
Don't get me wrong it looks cool, but very visceral.
pancakesplz
Well yes, it is.
Completely unlike the natural way their preyed on?
Ireadtoomuch
I can't think of any large bird that would try to take down a deer that's not wounded or dead
Cant recall the species but they pick up rams off mountains and drop them off the edge.
mostlyrottenadvice
Golden eagle they don’t do it often but they are responsible for killing farmers livestock at times
A sheep and a deer weigh pretty close i think but just the size deers are like twice the size
CosmicGastropod
The more a creature thrashes and panics the tougher and worse the meat. A clean shot is the best way to go.
Knilore
Last time I checked your muscles don't change in a minute from how they're built for decades.
Catoust
It has more to deal with the state of the muscles during the kill; flooded with adrenaline and biological mumbo jumbo makes it taste weird.
Wife's a massage Therapist maybe I can pick her brain.
As much as I appreciate this statement, the benefits of falconry are worth slightly tougher meat if it means less endangered bird species.
I agree, but use them for small prey, which realistically is what they are born to hunt, not a deer that more than out weighs them.1/2
2/2 you also risk having your bird snap it's wing during the struggle. Leading to complications even death of the bird. Just responsibility.
CaldariBob
Only if the birds are breed instead of taken from the wild.
"Bred". Friggin' autocorrect...
Both actually. And on that, wild birds are better. They are less likely to imprint and be unreleasable.
