Chevy Chase left after the first season, replaced by Bill Murray.

Sounds more like a Norm Macdonald joke than an a Chevy Chase joke.
duktayp
"Saturday Night Live" was originally a variety show hosted by Howard Cosell https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_Night_Live_with_Howard_Cosell
BilltheCatisBack
That’s why the show is titled NBC Saturday Night.

SNL needs to bring the cocaine back.
hipifreq
I still say "have I reached the party to whom I'm speaking?" on the phone sometimes. I crack myself up... Not my family though, just myself
ItWasntSupposedToBeThisWay
If someone said this to me over the phone, I probably wouldn't laugh then. We'd be halfway through the conversation before it would hit me and then that would be it. I'd be unable to finish talking because I'd be laughing so hard.

Try this today:
Oooooooooooooooh..... I'm gonna get me a shotgun, kill all the whitey's I see...
When I kill all the whitey's I see, then Whitey he won't bother me....

#5 Is that the sketch where Buck Henry got accidentally cut on his forehead by one of Bilushi's swings? Then the cast were all wearing bandages on their foreheads. Or did I imagine all that?

Lily, though...
tsterling00
The Lily Tomlin stuff is from "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In", not SNL.
Hootykai
I too saw that. She did appear on the first episode of SNL although it wasn't yet called SNL

Well hot damn, I knew that; perhaps I'll do a Laugh-in post later . . .

What is Al Frankens issue?
whosbestmom
He had to leave his US Senate seat when an old photo of him showing sexual harassment (had on boob of sleeping comedian) during the "me to" beginning . . .
DVSBSTrD
She was wearing body armor and he didn't even touch that!
Dannoboyo
No pictures that I saw showed actual contact, but it was creepy and he was mugging for the camera like a 12 year old. He absolutely deserved to be called out for it
Streiquer
He had a host of sexual misconduct allegations against him. Nothing ever “proven,” but he did resign from Congress over them, and his own “recollections “ were inconsistent depending on who he was talking to. And unlike republicans, his Democrat colleagues pressured him into resigning… If he had been republican, he’d have been given awards and shielded from any consequences.
urusername2
Put on the ballot for President [especially if he threw in some pedophilia!!].
Dannoboyo
Immature and juvenile sexual misconducts that were not sexual assault or rape. Got a girl to kiss him during a rehearsal with her consent, took stupid pictures of his hands near her body while she was asleep in full combat gear. I feel like he outgrew that kind of conduct, and perhaps that he had to resign, mostly because he was a serious and responsible legislator and no other cases of misconduct seemed to have arisen.
DVSBSTrD
It was proven, but what he did was so inbelievably NOT serious that the women only wanted an apology. Kirsten Gillibrand thought otherwise.
