ooOOOOhhhh we KNOW there is an issue but unfortunatly we also know there is nothing we can do about it.

He needs to be guillotined and all of his holding split to feed the hungry, cloth the less fortunate, and fresh water for those who have no access. And then youd still have hundreds of billions to use elsewhere

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We do think it's an issue. I wish it wasn't possible

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You'd think the anti-trans propaganda and Nazi shit woulda been the end of him. Instead he got like 5x richer since then.

The great depression, the worst economic crisis in the history of capitalism, didn't come close to Ending capitalism. Nor did either world war, both of which annihilated 80% of all the wealth on the planet. Capitalism isn't going anywhere. And I'm not entirely sure it needs to tbh. Capitalism was there during the New Deal where the middle and working classes were doing great.

It's our toleration of *unregulated supply side* capitalism that might be coming to an end

His "worth" is more that the entire GDP of all but 21/22 countries. Also there is more change of offing the President that there is getting to him now.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lots of humanity thinks there's an issue...

Google says the global bond market is worth about $145 trillion, not $1 trillion. Super close, but actually not.

And yet, he will never be able to buy the love of his daughter. He's a deeply damaged man who cannot cope with not getting his way and thinks there is some level of wealth where reality will bend to his will. I hope his bitterness will consume him until the day he dies.

Someone tell Trump if he nationalizes SpaceX he gets a chunk. Make popcorn and watch them eat each other.

Elon Musk is a sack of wet meat that's a net drain on society, so - negative worth.

He *owns* a trillion dollars worth of stock - which would tank as soon as he made any significant divesture. So - not a ton of liquidity, although at that level even a tiny bit goes a long way.

Muskrat is worthless.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Simply any more than 50 billion should be assets of any one

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Treasury market alone is >$30t, making shit up detracts from a legitimate point

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Paper value. If he tried to cash out he would cause a catastrophic market crash and end up with less than half of that. Which is still an obscene amount of money and should result in a you won capitalism now here get in this VR pod that demonstrates our newest mind out of body technology using nitrogen enriched air.

1 month ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 5

Yeah but when he wants to buy a 45billion dollar public forum he just can, so, it doesn't matter that it is *just* paper money.

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

To make a purchase like that he uses the paper value of his assets as collateral to borrow money for the buying, and then is making payments on that loan using the dividends from his other assets. He doesn't actually sell any of it.

But that also means that when the stock market crashes, the lenders start to call in the loans because the collateral asset is worth less than the balance owed. Forcing him to sell, and tanking the market further.

This ends in the greatest economic crisis ever.

kinda of still even more of a reason to not let him get anywhere near this level of consolidation. tbh still feels like a crash its valuation is still a win win

As much as that last line is true... & I've HATED, to the BONE, & NEVER Voted for Rapeublucans since fuckin Reagan took Carter's Solar Panels off the WH, when I was a kid; It's been a spiral down since Nixon. We've been KNOWINGLY Easy Bake Ovening ourselves into EXTINCTION for almost a century now, thnx to the Petrochemical & Auto industries. It's like those DOD games where you get a new weapon after every kill and the game ends when someone goes throgh the whole list.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Time to harvest that Trillionaire.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The global bond market notional is around $145 trillion. Having a single person with $1 trillion wealth is still appalling though.

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think people actually do think it's an issue but are helpless to do anything about it.

I mean apart from not buying the stock.

1/3rd of people are cheering for it. 1/3rd of people dont care. 1/3rd think this is bad, but only a tiny fraction of that 1/3rd would actually do something like Mario or that warehouse guy.

1 month ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 2

I shorted SpaceX, if that helps xD.

Thank you for your service !

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair to the third who don't care, most of them probably haven't heard of him because they're too busy mining for coltan or farming rice they'll never be able to afford to eat themselves, etc

1 month ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

I was talking about Western societies. USA, Europe. Too many people simply dont care or even worse: are FOR it.

There have been more warehouse fires, like a lot more

For perspective: Germany has a budget of 524 billion for 2026. So one asshole has twice as much perceived money as one of the biggest economies in the world with 83 million people in it. This is absurd.

1 month ago | Likes 190 Dislikes 0

I think you’re confusing government budget with GDP. Musk’s worth is not 2x the GDP of Germany.

However, Nvidia’s market cap is larger than the GDP of Germany.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Wealth is not the same as income, or budget. I imagine Germany as a whole is worth well more than a trillion. Wouldn’t surprise me if just the aggregate net worth of those 83 million people was more than that. That’d be about twelve grand apiece on average.

That fact that fElon’s wealth grew this year somewhere near as much as Germany’s budget is appalling. But even that doesn’t take into account that it’s a payout for years of a company’s growth.

That said, fuck that guy.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I feel like some just completely ignored the phrasing "perceived money," that was used.

1 month ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Third largest economy in the world

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Don’t compare valuation with money. They are not the same despite having the same unit.

1 month ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

If he were to start selling in order to have that as cash, he’d quickly find he wasn’t a trillionaire.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Has? No. Valued as "worth" that much? Yes. It's the problem with illiquid value being stated as how much you "have". Still billionaires+=bad

1 month ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 6

You are correct, and I'd wager it highlights a different part of the problem: They play at being perceived as having that much money at their disposal, like Musk branding himself a trillionaire and people picture him as some kind of Scrooge McDuck - rich to a point where most of the money is practically useless, rendering the rich dude comical.
In reality, the figures don't represent ability to purchase, but influence and power. That's the actual issue, and they try to camouflage it.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate this argument. It's not wrong, but it's not an ethical argument.

If he wants to borrow 1 billion from the bank in cash, he can. That's 0.1 percent of his net worth. He could buy more than 10 private jets and pay for fuel, maintenance, and standby pilots for years.

If I want to borrow 0.1 percent of my net worth, I'd get one non self propelled ryobi lawn mower.

Hey Ryobi is a sacred brand for those of us not worth a trillion dollars!
