I'm in Massachusetts. Anyone who wants to get a state level role has a (D) next to their name. As such it's a big tent - there are even a few old, old, REALLY FUCKING OLD guard who use 'the church' as the reason they're anti LGBT+ - in Massachusetts.
Putting an R next to one's name in Texas doesn't seem that different. There's the 02/07 FFL [machinegun manufacturer] Brandon Herrera, and there are people who could run in Mass.
