I have yet to see any post on this topic so I decided to post about it. These are images from a fan made KOTOR remastered game that is being made by Apeiron Games. All these our straight from the images which they have posted on twitter. They update their feed every week on the progress they have made with the game. They have stated the game will be free for everyone who already has the original game.
If you are interested in following their progress, their twitter is here:

They also have an official site which is here:

And now that they relieved that they are working on it, they will soon receive a cease and desist order from EA

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dear god please...best game I have ever played

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dont wanna forget this one

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it's going to get a cease and desist letter if it keeps being promoted.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is this just a graphics overhaul, or a full remake? If it's the latter, I doubt this will ever release.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They could make a mint if they simply updated the graphics, kept the story and mechanics, and released it again.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Expect the Empire to crush this....though I'd kill to see them use the KOTOR comics characters- Zayne Carrick, FTW!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have to own the game to play it so it's basically just a mod. They'll be fine maybe.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a feeling Skywind will be finished before this....

OH BABY

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's a completed full conversion of Baldur's Gate and Sword Coast for NWN2 and they are currently working on BG2 and an expansion.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The problem with it is that it's NWN2. Only really great RPG engine from Bioware was the Infinity Engine.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I haven't played it yet, but I'm hoping they edited the user interface. Infinity Engine is life.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If EA made this, it'll be garbage. If a fan made this, it'll be sued to death. Either way, RIP KOTOR.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In these dark times, i can't help but feel empty inside. I propose we, as a country, persuade Disney to make KOTOR 3. It's time.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Real talk though, Disney's lawyers are going to have a field day.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I realize these people are big fans of the games. But every time somebody remakes one...they get shut down. Why bother?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Such as Everquest, vanguard, wow, Pokemon, etc etc.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would blow someone to play this. Fortunately I don't have too.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

*heavy breathing*

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But can I play Pazaak?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's some fine looking cease and desist bait.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I still need to know if they are redoing dialogue. I don't want to hear every alien say "mucha shacka packa" no matter what I ask them about

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There was so much human dialogue. But then they decided they only needed about 10 different alien ones such as "surprised tweilek"

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Roonda de hoodonga kaaaaaaa chi koon in dahoodonga. That shitty, unrealistic alien dialog is forever engraved in my mind.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, amazeballs game. Cringey alien dialog.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would buy a PC to play this version. This is truly awesome.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The mouse is going to sue you.

10 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

"For now the best thing you can do as a fan is simply get the word out: please talk, tweet, or twitch us!" Poor fools, don't even see it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ha huh

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Huh ha

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I only got about halfway down the album before Bioware issued a C&D.

10 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Or Disney since they own the Star Wars universe now.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

EA is more likely, they're the publisher holding the licence right now.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Worse. Disney. Everyone's who's seen this post is gonna get black vanned.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Bioware isn't doing much these days my friend

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I doubt bioware would mind. EA on the other hand...

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

EA has fucking nothing to do with this. They only have to do with Battlefront and SW:TOR

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Last I checked, EA owned Bioware.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Really? I missed the memo somewhere.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

NO. NO, NO, NO, NO. SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT YOUR GODDAMN REMAKES. ALWAYS. JUST QUIETLY RELEASE THEM OR THEY'LL GET FUCKING NDA'D.

10 years ago | Likes 234 Dislikes 8

To be fair, I think this info has been out for a while. I don't precisely recall, but I thought I saw news of this on the game's steam page.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

every time this happens, i go from 'oh this looks cool' to 'oh shit i know about it' and realize next i'll hear it's been shut down

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They're developing it as a "mod" of the base game, so you have to own it to play it. Circumvents most legal problems. 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When you launch it, it basically uses none of the original game files, but it still makes it so they can continue without Cease and Desist

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's an nda?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2 years and there site is gone

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll never understand larger companies, seeing someone making their game better then going "Well, guess we better take legal action now"

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

$$$$

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have to aggressively protect your copyrights otherwise they'll become generic and anyone can do anything with them.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This. We could of had a wonderful ChronoTrigger remake. But people posted about it.

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 2

Remake? I thought Crimson was to be a fan sequel tying together it and Cross

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

ChronoTrigger Resurrection

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, I just remember playing the 98% of crimson

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There was going to be a way to tie trigger to the misato kato fanfic anthology?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why can't we get a KOTOR 3?!

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

We did. It's called Star Wars: The Old Republic. That's technically KotOR3.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Right? I feel as though I have not progressed in my life since I finished kotor 2.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Cuz it's no longer canon, we would need a new approved KOTOR 1

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I don't even care about Disneys new canon. The old EU/legends is the REAL Star Wars canon in my heart.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because single player games make less money than multiplayer MMO cash cows

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

Funny how mmos are a dying type anyway, and most big games currently are not mmos.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Most big games are MMOs just not mmorpgs

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

List what games you think aren't MMOs and are bug games. The mmorpg genre is dying but not MMOs.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Big not bug

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wasnt jotor 2 broken or unfinished?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

It wasn't that broken. It was rushed and therefore a lot of the ending got cut because LucasArts loved ruining their best games.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

But what about Jedi Outcast?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, kotor 2 was amazing.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Amazing and broken. My game bugged out all the time.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But wasn't that every game on Xbox?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hmmm, from what I remember of the Xbox yeah I guess. I played PC though.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Originally? Back in Windows XP it ran just fine, re-bought on Steam and it's glitchy af.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine did some goofy stuff. Tried turning handmaiden into a Jedi and it through me into a glitched map.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have a look on steam workshop. There should be the restored content mod which works a treat

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*Sigh* Another awesome fan made game mod that will likely never be finished. But maybe I'll be wrong.

10 years ago | Likes 291 Dislikes 1

This and the KOTOR 2 remake has been in development a LONG time. Ive been a super fan of star wars for awhile and want only this.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Oh to true brother, oh to true

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sadly, you speak the truth. But, it's because of a C&D...v_v

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

KOTOR 2 had a fan made patch officially adopted and released by the EA. I wondered why not KOTOR 1. So maybe... this'll get legitimized too?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

How was it officially released by EA?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

KOTOR 2 got fan made update that added controller support and widescreen, pushed through Steam in like 2013 or 14 with Obsidians blessing.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh and it was Disney who okay'ed it. They hold publishing rights not EA.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's not right then. The update didn't include the fan-made mod. It included steam workshop for downloading mods such as the fan-made mod.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or be canceled due to a lawsuit.

10 years ago | Likes 96 Dislikes 0

Actually the KOTOR devs are pretty cool about this stuff.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's you need to own the game to play it, so it's basically just a overhaul mod. Same thing the Skywind team is doing.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

T'was canceled, but because of a C&D, not a lawsuit.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Until there is a written statement from Disney that they have the blessing, you can be sure they will be shut down due to a lawsuit.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They are avoiding lawsuits by making you own the original game to play. I'm so hyped.

10 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

This mod was stopped, because of a c&d.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean it's still not legal. But it's less offensive so maybe no suit will be filed.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It's legal if it's a mod. And if they require you to own the original and they give it for free, that's a mod, legally

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

not so clear if its an actual mod though, they just mention you need the game because of the audio assets. if its not they gon get fucked

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We do remember Star Wars is a Disney property, right?

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It's not so much that it's a Disney property, it's that EA currently holds the licence.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Oh shit

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

They arent tryimg to profit from the remake and i believe it will be a free release. They have been working on it for years and no lawsuit.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0
