when you don't have all the tools but the job needs to get done anyway

Tbh if it goes off that bomb suit isn't helping much

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How can you win against a people that casually move live munitions around with a cigarette like that. Ukrainians have balls.

On one hand, Ottawa convention made mines that can be detonated by a person illegal. On the other, Russia didn't sign it.

And have reportedly dropped thousands of butterfly mines

I remember reading of people training rats to find mines because they are too light to trigger them.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Those were antipersonnel mines, not antitank mines.

And then there's the Finnish version, which involves playing the Säkkijärven polkka on a constant loop. https://youtu.be/uMszu_VgMfY

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's not disarming it, he's gonna go find a Russian tank to put it in front of.

Right to bear mines!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I always thought bears come from bird-and-the-bees breeding. But if you can mine them, all the better.

Videos that end too soon. Hope it ended well. Seems like it could have been tragic

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Longer version of video has him walking quite a ways into the woods, but still ends before he sets down the mine.

That is an anti-tank mine. Common ones have a 150kg trigger on the top. You could stand on it and it wouldn't activate. Still very brave!

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

i am unsure about that, it is a russian mine and i am very heavy.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha, well I was referring to the person carrying it, he doesn't look like we weights 150kg

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The only danger is picking it up (it might be booby trapped or have an anti tampering switch on the bottom). It's safe to carry after pickup

I'm shocked that guy is not wearing a kilt, No way his huge balls are fitting in them jeans.

4 years ago | Likes 159 Dislikes 4

Those things at the ends of his legs? They ain't feet.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He wasn't walking funny because he was afraid to jostle the mine. It was because his balls barely fit in his jeans.

4 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

The guy actually has no legs....

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The cigarette is key.

4 years ago | Likes 463 Dislikes 0

You can filter harmful fumes through the cigarette and remember your safety squints

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd imagine it helped calm his nerves. Even if only an insurmountable amount.

4 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

I mean, otherwise he'd have to put it down. And good smokes are hard to come by.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Haha, I thought the exact same thing, the second I saw the image, lol!

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

No safety crocs in sight, very disappointed.

Note: Survivorship bias. Do keep in mind what you don't see, and why. If unsuccessful the camera person wouldn't post this (or maybe exist).

It’s an AT mine. You could throw it and it wouldn’t blow up.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 10

This is NOT true, repeat, NOT true. Source: Friend is building ammunition destroying facilities. These mines often have built in security!

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It's also a "know your mines" situation. That mine isn't designed to blow up unless a car drives over the pressure plate.

4 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 2

Yeah it takes about 60kg to set it off, although they can be made to detonate with tampering.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

FYI -- Could easily make fake replicas from wood. Tank drivers would have to treat as real (or take their chances).

4 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Paint an upside-down dinner plate. It looks enough like a mine from a distance that invading force has to slow down to check. Ambush point.

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

The Taliban spent the last 20 years teaching the world how to deal with this

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fun idea, take empty gas tanks like tall metal ones, place next to roads, partially cover with debris where it's kind of hidden but obvious.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just go with psyops and fake-outs for 'obvious IED' and plant them along roads.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good ol' guerilla warfare.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

What about gorilla warfare. Dicks out and all that.
