Having sparred with tons of people, including brothers, having something slip through is a risk you accept from the beginning. Getting offended over it is ridiculous, and its own red flag. The decent person response is "nice move" and fixing the hole in your own defense.

Agreed. Sparring is not only practice but for respect between combatants. If you get offended at your own inadequacies, or at the improvements in your partners, then you dishonor yourself and have no place in the sport.
