Elbow watch

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ive gotta hand it to him, he hand-led the situation incredibly well.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s not a terrible gift. I mean if the guy was blind sure.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The only people who wear watches these days don't care what time it is, it's just a show of expensive jewlery...

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He took it with good grace and humor, you have to hand it to him... Hold on...

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like the Price Is Right contestant that won a treadmill.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm glad to see he's able to laugh with it, everyone give him a hand!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please god dont use news.com.au

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This deserves a high five

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm glad most articles start off with his massive accomplishment before diving into goof. It sucks to have some abled bullshit be the only thing anyone makes note of at an event that represents a lifetime of work and accomplishment for you. I know he's having good humor with it, cause what else can you do, but I'm disabled myself, and this type of shit is so fucking annoying.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Agreed, 3 UCI world champion wins is fucking awesome! I'm glad it was front-loaded in that report

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Man in wheelchair won a treadmill on the price is right

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"We're gonna give you a prize! Don't believe me? Just watch!"

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Congratulations and even more congratulations for how you dealt with this. I was going to say "handled" but that would have been tacky. Should I remove that sentence? Nah, it's IMGUR, it'll be fine...

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bravo to this man for seing the humor in it.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

His arms have both been amputated well above, not at, his wrists.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

So what? He can wear it just fine. And what would be a better way for him to tell time? A pocketwatch? A phone?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Dude has a healthy sense of humor

3 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

He seems like the type of person to walk up to someone for help and ask to give him a hand.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

that handshake... woof

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

What is black humor? Just dark comedy? Also, one arm is def amputated above the elbow, and not both at the wrist.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Came here for this. I'm sure they meant dark humor.... Right?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like the quiz show winner in a wheelchair - her prize was a treadmill.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was just about to mention that

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don’t get that whole ‘going to hell when you laugh’ thing. Why is laughing at something funny considered such a heinous sin? It’s not a real religious crime such as wearing clothes made out of multiple fabrics, wearing jewellery, or eating shellfish.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I get that this standard rage bait but not only was the prize arranged before he won, he can still use it - it’s funny but nothing to get upset over

3 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

No one is upset, evis laughing.

Honestly, the sponsors and gifts were long decided before the event.

we know, Sherlock

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Thank you for coming to my Tedtalk.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Of course, but it's still hilarious

Still, I feel like if you're going to sponsor a Paralympic competition, you would want to have contingencies for this kind of thing. For brand appearance reasons if nothing else.

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

Yeah, but what is a watch company wants to support the Paralympics? They are limited in the scope of gifts they can give.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The focus of the sponsors is to gain visibility it is just a different form of advertising run by their marketing team. Giving the same price to all of the winners makes it equal to all. It becomes complicated when they have to deliver different prizes with equal value, both monetary and symbolic. It would have been cool if marketing would have come u with something that would have boosted their visibility in a clever way, then again, maybe they have.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's difficult to cover everything accessibility-wise well in advance... this thing feels like it was predictable enough to be accounted for though. Just have like a pocket watch or pendant watch or even just a clock or something as a back-up

3 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

After my comment I'd also learned it was a para-lympic event, so maybe they coulda had a hat or something.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How would they get the pocket watch out?

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

If you put it in a chest pocket you could add something on to the end of the chain so you could pull it out with your teeth. That could work even if you were a double-amputee at both shoulders

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I understand it’s just an example but I think it would be worse than a wristwatch

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

“What time is it?”!”world champion time!” That’s fucking right bro, a blundered gift from an uncaring megacorp can’t tarnish that feeling. Best on the fucking planet, what a boss.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

This is getting out of hand.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Now there are two of them!

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That was a pretty off-handed remark.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It looks like he can wear the watch tho

3 years ago | Likes 235 Dislikes 2

Fair, but he can't set the correct time.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doesn't need to cause "it's world champion time"! Bitchachos.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Someone would have to put it on him

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also he could sell or gift it. Another shitstorm based on nothing

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 5

Yeah it fits but I suspect it would fall off. You can see how tightly he's had to cinch it in the folds of the shirt. Probably not very comfy or practical. But a good video and a good sense of humour.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yea it's not like they gave him a ring

3 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 0

Truth

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Well, I mean, there MIGHT be a place he could still wear that.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Right?

3 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Or left. I mean either side

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

If he's laughing we're allowed to laugh too. No one's going to hell.

3 years ago | Likes 389 Dislikes 0

Not for this, anyway.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hundo %.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At look at you guys' comments history, I have bad news you're all going to hell with me

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Watch me!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not as bad a trying to high five a blind man.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed, but the article is still written like clickbait bullshit where you have to wade through multiple paragraphs to get to the point

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hell is make-believe. Laugh away.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Its not like we are laughing at him, its the absurdity of the situation.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Being that it’s a watch , technically , he has two hands now.

3 years ago | Likes 919 Dislikes 0

Three. Second. Minute. Hour. Possibly.

That took me a second.... hand. YAAAAAAAAAH!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

This comment is solid gold!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is wrong in so many ways - yet I laughed because I have a twisted sense of humor.
