I live near vancouver, which has one of the highest rates of homeless drug abusers anywhere. I feel uneasy going to those areas of East Vancouver Etc that have that. Not really because I feel unsafe, just being witnessed to that level of human suffering makes me feel terrible that I can do extremely little about it.

A coworker of mine would have her car broken into every night when she lived in capitol hill. Granted they only robbed her once as the guy would usually just use it to sleep. But that doesnt mean some iffy shit does not happen.

That's the talking point they don't like to mention with alot of big cities that are blue in the US. They will use crime data for a few neighborhoods, and apply it to the whole city, ignoring that outside of those spots, the rest of the city is perfectly safe. Only way to make it seem scary while hiding most small towns have a MUCH higher crime rate in red states. (this only applies to the US and how the news covers it)

I've tried but they just turn the camera off and look for someone else to talk to. They were like "oh shit this balding middle aged white guy that dresses like John Fetterman is also progressive like John Fetterman, fuck"

They were all much nicer to him than he deserved. Walking up to people and telling them how shitty he believes their home is. They all showed commendable restraint by not just telling him to go fuck himself.

I feel like that's way more powerful than "fuck you". The "I politely would like you to know you're full of shit" way IMO sends better message

Oh, I'm sure that happened plenty too and they just didn't use those interviews (unless this was live or something, which it doesn't look like). These were probably the MOST "haha gotteem" interviews they felt they could scrape together after hours of trying.
