For the most part, I don't mind spiders. They are bug assassins that patrol my home. What I do mind is that they sometimes try to do it at face height with their webs strung across a doorway and are probably laughing as they watch me go into ninja mode trying to fight off their web.

I do think they get that annoyed-but-amused face when we walk through their webs. Like “jfc human!!”
But jumping spiders don’t make webs, so you should like them even more :)

The ones that always bugged me the most were these Black and Yellow garden spiders. My aunt and uncle used to run a tree farm and I would go out there and mow between the rows. These spiders used to love to spin a web between them, and if I wasn't paying attention, I would drive right into them while mowing. I ended up taking a bamboo stick, tape it to the front of the mower like a WWII Jeep wire cutter and let that hit the webs.

I'd suggest starting with "print on demand books" and see what comes up. Beware though, looks like there's a lot of places that are "give us money, we'll take care of the rest" that probably only do the first part.

I go out of my way to avoid hurting spiders. Except False Black Widows. We get a lot of them here and they are kill on sight. Aggressive little bastards that will put you in urgent care.

So these are true widows aren’t even in the same family. False widow spiders (Steatoda spp.) are often mistaken for true black widow spiders (Latrodectus spp.) due to their similar appearance and web-building habits…. But false black widows have venom that’s not harmful to humans, so I’m not sure why you’d kill them?

The ones here are called False Widows and they absolutely will put you in urgent care. Their bite makes you feel like you have the flu. They are a glossy black/purplish and they tend to live in corners of garages. I got bit only once and it was horrible, a day and a half of feeling awful and a swollen leg.

Steatoda grossa is the one I'm talking about. They are very common here, and if they bite you can get quick sick. Not always but it happens. Maybe I am just particular sensitive to them.

You very well could have an allergy that exacerbated the bite! Even if something isn’t typically medically significant (like a bee sting), people can still have very adverse reactions to the venom. Spiders are the same

It’s a natural fear- some (rare) spiders have medically significant venom to humans. But most are totally harmless :) And some, like jumpers and many tarantulas, make excellent pets!

Nah I took the natural fear to spiders and cranked it up to 11, might have something to do with seeing Arachnophobia in theaters on my 11th birthday.

Oh yeah they have. I also used to have an unnatural fear of snakes but I got over that because a friend of mine had a python as a pet so I was slowly introduced to it and the interaction really helped me. I am still wary of most snakes but I don't scream like a little girl (46yr old male) anytime I see one now!
