I went into a Hallmark store with my list looking for stationary… there were two choices. I remember when there were two dozen kinds on the shelves. I looked at cards; also few choices, and nothing seemed like the masterpieces I used to see there. Ok. I looked for a the pocket calendars , a new address book, and a photo album. No luck., boomer.

go to an arts and craft store like Micheal's if they exist near you. they'll have them, with the expectation that you want to glue sparkles to it, but the blanks will be available.

On that note, print your favorite pictures, on good quality paper, and put them in an album. I work in IT, and all those memories stored in a computer are just garbage in another five years.

I group my photos in folders then I go online and make a book. My photos have some text and each book is based on different theme or has a story. Every now and again it is nice to go through my books.

Shopping couple months ago, picked up a set of bookends, only one of which had the price sticker (naturally). At checkout, when I insisted they were to be sold as a set, 3 cashiers and a supervisor were apparently completely unfamiliar with what bookends even were. They charged me for each one, but then they were on sale for 50% off, thus the total was the price on the one sticker. At that point, I quit arguing.

So much doom and gloom and I'm just like...guys, its a Target. It's a glorified grocery store with a toy aisle. Even ten years ago I knew to look for stores like michaels or AC moore if you want to do anything creative.

We are living through what will be thought of as the digital dark ages. Few records of this era will make it though the filter of time. Human readable, archival records will fade from the late 20th century, only reemerging in the recovery after the collapse. Future historians will struggle to figure out how it all fell apart. So many plastic fragments, so much industry, but not a surviving text or image other than the holy USB symbol embossed on so many artifacts.

My nephews sa a photo album they're 5 and 8 as of 2025 and they just spent THE longest time looking through it. It was at my grandma's memorial and I don't think they quite understood the idea behind it, but it was fun seeing their reactions to all the pictures of my brother that embarrassed him, along with some old photos of them as babies. When I put it together for my mom I REALLY enjoyed the act of doing it. And also picturing the look on my brother's face as everyone saw his naked phase. XD

I must be weird. I have made photo albums of almost every trip we've had ever since getting together with SO, and when our kid was born, I switched to albums covering a full year. My kid loves going through them, and I love them, I forget so many things, they're here to remind me

My mom has taken to having photo books printed. She'll put together a highlight reel from a year or a big trip and pay to have a dozen or so books printed and share them among relatives.
Those books helped ground my grandma through her final years, as her mind faded she still loved those books of family pictures, especially the recent ones with her great grandchildren

Funnily enough I DID hear in passing that my sister in law passed by the kitchen when David was in his late 20s and saw him cooking naked. Asked him what the hell he was doing and he said that he just didn't feel like getting dressed after his shower.

To actually answer the question, it's a sendout process that takes a few weeks, and there's two ways to go. To fully develop them, it can be sent through Fuji, and will cost 14.99 per print. Or, they can be put on a digital archive via iMemories, which costs 9.99/19.99 base (DVD/Jump Drive) and 59 cents per picture.

Don't worry, it'll all come back once the climate catastrophes become so frequent and severe that rebuilding becomes impossible in between the storms, flash floods, wildfires etc. Once too many power grids are failing and too many roads have been washed out, the government has collapsed and there is no emergency response or deliveries because vehicles can no longer get through, life will become increasingly analog and basic again.
