This is America. Now it can be fixed if the fascists are flushed out in November.

The rich dont get rich by helping people.

Meanwhile, Trump's family is making billions in profits using their positions in power. I guess millions of Americans need to experience this situation by themselves before they do something about it.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

None of it can be fixed in Nov. That's delusional.

The only thing you can do in Nov is stop it from getting worse.

You can't fix it till the Trump admin is gone and that's not gonna happen in Nov.

It will take more than one election to flush out fascists. IF you win the midterms, that is only the very, very beginning of a lot of hard work. They've been hunting down Nazis and their collaborators for the better part of a century. That's the sort of dedication it's going to take if you want anything to stick.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I know there are variables that affect things, but 24 and 12 for benefits are nothing for food. Honestly, isn't 80 also low?

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I am single and live alone and my grocery bill is over $80 A WEEK. I buy loads of fresh fruits and frozen veggies... It's expensive to eat healthy.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im sorry she and others are going through this, but we are all in the FO stage. She probably voted for him. Sleep in the bed you made.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And 30-40% of all food produced in the US goes to waste. It would be so easy to feed everybody in one of the richest countries on Earth, but capitalism doesn't allow it. Capitalism and israel. You read that right. The UN has consistently affirmed food as a human right since 1948. Only 2 countries routinely vote against the near-annual resolutions on the right to food, which are the US and israel. Why? Because if Gazans had a right to not go hungry, it would interfere with israel's genocide plans

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out - Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out - Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out - Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak for me."

It's been like this for a long time. People don't care to look at the poor until they're getting closer to becoming poor. Trump is just making it worse. She shouldn't have only gotten $80 to begin with. Fuck the government and it's bullshit

@ThisIsNotTheBestUsername is a piece of shit coward that uses slurs and blocks people for calling him out in it. Pussy!

Republicans - "Sorry we can afford to spend money on SNAP and low income aid for the American people." Fires another volley of missiles into Iran at $3 million a piece. "We're making more of those, right?"

And remember, when you donate to war, over half of the proceeds go directly into a rich person's pocket. Won't you please think of the poor billionaires, and call now. Please give generously of your future. And your children's futures. Smooth operators are waiting for your vote, or hoping you stay home.

They're too busy lining their pockets and spending ungodly amounts of money on lost wars and vanity projects to give a rat's ass what happens to any of us.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The cruelty is the point.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wtf. Her ein switzerland you get invalid benefits at least 1500 and max 3100 $ and in america 80$ ??? A blind person would get 3100 $ for her living. Every month

2 weeks ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Even in Canada disability isnt enough anymore. i will be disabled this year. i will be lucky to get 700 a month.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here in the US, if you cannot work, you deserve to die.

2 weeks ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Just wait. This will change too.
EL will drop (has dropped), IV will drop (has dropped) and soon it will drop even more.
It's easy to take it from the poor. The poor don't have money to buy lobbyists. They are always the ones getting their benefits taken away first all while the rich get one tax breake after another and the next one is already in the pipeline
And a 13th AHV pension is useless if they raise the MWS which they will and in the end every pensioneer will have less thanks to that 13th

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She's getting more than 80/mo, just nowhere near enough more. That number is what she can budget for food. In the US disability runs between like 700-1300/mo depending on your state, which is *still* criminally low and does *not* have any additional benefits like automatic housing assistance, it's literally cash to live on. The SNAP mentioned is food stamps, credits loaded onto a debit card that can only be spent on authorised foods. The cuts to that plus higher costs have her fucked. 1/2

2 weeks ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

2/2 In addition, the US has ridiculously strict limits on a disabled person's ability to have assets or income. If you can't work but can bake, don't you dare charge money for selling cakes or you can lose your benefits. If you're married and your spouse makes 'too much', you can't get your cash benefit (THAT YOU AND YOUR PARENTS FUCKING PAID FOR BY THE WAY), just maybe health insurance (MAYBE!) and a fancy parking spot. It's designed to punish people who dare to survive an illness or injury.

2 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Thanks for clarify. Here we have that too. If you able to work your benefits ginna go down. But if you an 100% invalid benefits you get the money and the state pays a part of you health insurance.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Oh, yeah, no. It’s not just that if you are able to work, it’s that if you earn $1,700 in a month, you are removed from the program. So it isn’t just you get less benefits for that month, it’s that you have to reapply to get on the program. Years ago I worked with a cashier who had disability because of back surgeries, she could no longer work as a waitress. She struggled to handle like 25hrs a week on her feet, I could see it. But she would panic if she got scheduled for too many hours in a wk.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Because if she exhausted herself pushing through pain and working those hours because she had good weeks and could, then she would be dropped and it would take 6 months or more to get recertified and on disability again.

Not really a fan of this guy Isiah. I like that he’s Democratic. But he’s always pulling away from a discourse. The only thing he ever does is bait and gotchas while interrupting his opposition with rude laughter. That might be enjoyable for some but all it does is divide more. It’s like rage bait for a Republican. The people he speaks to just become defensive. I’ve never heard a full discourse where two sides deliver talking points.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Republicans all need to learn they had been had and maybe consider not being loyal republican voters for a hot minute or altogether. However for the rest of us, we need to not worry about them, if we show up we win.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is what every single fucking Republican wants.

It could also be a person who is moral and can't interject her own feelings because it would be inappropriate.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Inappropriate. By what fucking retard standards? Maybe people in that position should fucking show emotion? This idea of being stoic when disabled people are telling you they can't fucking eat is ridiculous.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

The process of being impartial when someone disagrees with one's belief is good for democracy within this format. I don't need to hear the moderators opinion because that would become biased. Let the words' of the people be the change. I hear what she's saying and I know it's atrocious. I hope she does get support. I will vote for those that work. At making us the democracy we should have for ALL.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The other side does it, and look at all the damage they've done because you want and defend this. You are doing the work these nazi fucks want. Fucking scum.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

"ThE oThEr SiDe DoEs It", you sound like a fucking toddler. Conglomerating fear and hatred to destroy things is 1000x easier than getting people cooperating to build things back up. Your way would just perpetuate the hatred, drive more division, and get us nowhere. The fear and hatred will eventually lose but it won't happen until one side just ignores the hate and does what is right.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Well, you're just an asshole, proven by your use of that slur. Why don't you go be high and mighty somewhere else, you jackass?

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I will, you fucking retard.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I’ve got a bad feeling about this. I can see a pressure point coming in the next two years where the downtrodden will lose their shit just like they did in France on Bastille Day. The downtrodden and the disenfranchised will lose their shit and there will be bloodshed. It’s not inconceivable to think that the people will rise up and will overthrow this egregious fascist government.

If something isn’t done about Trump and his enablers really bad shit’s gonna go down in the USA.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's cute, but naive. Half of the "downtrodden" think it's immigrants and gay people doing this to them. Trump will be fine.

Each other? Not so much. Facts no longer exist. There is no common ground between men. There is no sharing or reasoning with "fuck you, I got mine".

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes sir

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It can be fixed if we abolish capitalism.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or the US could use capitalism to grow the economy and to see to it that there are no homeless people, as happens in China. Capitalism is NOT a political system, it is a technique to allow groups of individuals to invest in large enterprises with limited liability: no investor can lose more than he has invested.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I get where you are coming from and let me clarify –
If a small group of people owns all the major enterprises, they will naturally use their wealth to influence the government and write laws that protect their property and profits. Therefore, capitalism is absolutely a political system. It requires a state, laws, and police to enforce private property rights and ensure the capitalist class remains in power.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

AGAIN, Capitalism is a tool that can create prosperity for a limited segment of the population. It sucks as a tool for making all members of a society prosperous. Ither tools must be used to assure equality.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

1/2
You are absolutely correct that the current economic system is excellent at concentrating wealth at the top but terrible at distributing it.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 It is not a tool, it is the rulebook. This economic setup is not a neutral instrument you can pick up or put down. It is the entire foundation of how society is organized, and it dictates who has power and who writes the laws. Economic Power translated into political Power.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

capitalism naturally creates a "reserve army of labor"- a pool of unemployed and desperate people. The visible threat of homelessness and poverty is exactly what forces workers to accept low wages and bad jobs. capitalism cannot solve homelessness because the threat of homelessness is the engine that forces the working class to show up to work on the capitalists' terms.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is in context of this Video the crucial point.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Capitalism isnt about investing. It is a system built on exploitation. profit does not magically appear from an investment. It comes from the workers. If a worker produces $100 worth of value in an hour, the capitalist might only pay them $20 and keep the remaining $80 as profit

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dems support Israel too, so…

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 24

At this point less than half of the current dems still take AIPAC. While 100% of the republicans still take AIPAC. People who voted in the primaries is why that happened. You sound like Netanyahu's bots in 2024.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here we have the reason Trump got elected. "Dems are bad because Israel." Everyone knows that. Vote for them anyway you Nazi collaborator.

2 weeks ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Please don't let single issue things prevent you from voting for someone who isn't trying to kill the elderly and disabled. If your primary did not turn out a progressive candidate on Israel I am sorry. I want it too and BADLY. And I don't want to pretend like voting is all we need to do there is a LOT more work. But please remember this when its time to vote... choosing not to vote against policies like these means the most vulnerable will suffer and die. Always stand up for your neighbors.

2 weeks ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I’m from Spain and live here, my knowledge about American politics are pretty low. Isn’t there any other political party besides Dems and Reps? Americans need to break that bipartisan system and fight for real politics.

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 10

There are, but our system isn’t parliamentary. There are a few parties that can occasionally win elections in the house, but generally they exist to split the left leaning vote and are propped up by right wing billionaires to do so. In a race where conservatives have 30% of the vote, there can be a democrat candidate, a Green Party candidate, and a worker’s party candidate, and one or two others, but the right tends to vote in lockstep, so it’s like 25%/25%/20%/30% and Republican wins.

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

They even do stuff like paying for an independent to run, who happens to have the same name as the Democrat candidate. Along with closing polling stations in Democrat leaning neighborhoods so the lines are 8hrs long, passing laws that make it illegal to give people waiting in line water. Or trying to pass voter id laws where they specifically exclude the IDs that black people are likely to have, like student ids from state colleges.

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

So the only real chance for progress is the primaries to get more left leaning democrats. I mean, famously Bush won the 2000 election because Ralph Nader split the left vote and got like 11%.

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It is a common issue in countries with bipartisan systems, like mine (Spain), the left is split in several parties. It still does not prevent me from voting real leftist parties.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow. Nice argument.

2 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

My comment was because of the use of “fascists” in the title. You can keep your people fed and covered with all services and all, and still be fascist. Besides, claiming to not be a fascist party and supporting a genocide is hypocritical.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 10

Dude this argument was shot down years ago and even more so when Trump took over again. Under Trump Israel has become several times much worse as he goes out of his way to enable them and completely falls for their tricks, does nothing when they keep stepping out of line. There are levels of extreme severity to consider here and your statements only serve to distract and serve genocide. So just STFU already with the false arguments.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The Democratic Party supported Israel during Biden’s presidency, while Israel was killing kids. This is not an argument, but a FACT. Shot that fact down.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Since you don't live and you've admitted to not knowing anything about American politics, maybe keep your comments to yourself. The last thing we need are more people spewing this bullshit before an election.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I admitted my knowledge about American politics are pretty low, I did not admit what you say. I comment about what I know. The Democratic Party supported Israel under Biden’s presidency, while Israel was killing kids. Is it right or wrong? Help us know about facts like that.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Of course it's wrong, but we don't live in a perfect world. Everything, and I do mean everything, is far worse for the entire world under Trump, so your point that Dems also support Israel is irrelevant at this current point in time.

Our only hope is to continue to replace established Dems with progressives and slowly retake our government to make sure our works for the people. To do that, we just first remove the current fascist administration.

Nothing is going to change overnight, we're 1/2

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I really don't want to annoy or troll anyone, but... Trump has no intention of being voted out of office, just as he won't let anyone spoil his plans in November. Remember, in 2024 he wasn't leading in any poll - except in the MAGA media - and yet he's president. Elmo is all in again and I'm sure his ICE Gestapo will actively prevent Americans from voting. I really hope for your sake that I'm wrong, but don't be too surprised if he wins by 125% in November.

2 weeks ago | Likes 340 Dislikes 12

If Blanche and S(C)ROTUS get him complete immunity from ANY kind of prosecution of any sort, zero tax investigations or any other kind of investigations for the rest of his life, then he would step down on his own terms rather than being voted out of office.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 14

He will step down when they shovel his gelatinous remains into a coffin, and wheel him out.

2 weeks ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

And even then, I bet they "weekend at Bernies" him because they won't know what else to do until putin and bibi tell them what to do.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't use this as an excuse not to vote. There are people everywhere trying to give people excuses not to vote. They wouldn't do that if it didn't mater. If someone stands in your way, walk past. Get that ballot in. They want you to give up, they want to give you excuses to not show up. Show up anyway.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

this is why he won. people were too stupid to vote, or they decided to either vote for him because they didn't have their perfect, nonexistent democratic candidate.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If any election takes place and there is no amendment filed to allow a person to serve beyond two terms, that's several laws broken including election interference.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Since when does Trump breaking laws have consequences?

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There’s a reason he’s building the bunker.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm imagining he will order ICE to storm the Capitol this time, guns blazing, actually dropping bodies this time, all of them, if it doesn't go according to his plans in November

2 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

They already know and are willing to murder anyone in their way. They have tested the waters and gotten away with it. Expect more brutality in the near future.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Voting is every citizens responsibility whether you think it will make a difference or not. Know that the shit the US is in right now will not be fixed in one election cycle though. Everyone needs to vote and continue to vote every election. It will take just as long if not longer to drag the US back towards a more reasonable political alignment. You will never be done protecting democracy for as long as you live. Strap in, and do as much as you can to fight for what is right. Start by voting.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Vote still - it's not enough by far, but it is the least you can do. Literally: Take it as a starting point knowing it is not enough and additional action will be necessary. Use overcoming the obstacles to voting (including your lack of motivation) as training for more advanced steps of resistance.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was just in Missouri for a week.

There are A LOT of Trump 2028 flags, stickers, etc. People support it. As well as some Israeli flags flying at houses.

Says enough.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should still vote.

2 weeks ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 0

How can you if fascists are in power? Fascists that are determined to hold on to power no matter what! These fascists are controlled by capital that wants to continue to buy policies that benefit capital and only capital - not you.

What makes you believe there will be a fair vote - or even a vote at all?

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

If you can’t be bothered to donate 1 hour of your time to vote against fascism I would suggest you’re as much of the problem as anyone else.

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

By all means, you should vote, so go vote. But fascists don’t care about the outcome, so do much more than just vote to make it count.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

This kind of rhetoric translates to "just comply in advance". Never compy in advance. Saying it's pointless before it is proven so is defeatist and not helpful. Some do not have the capacity or ability to do anything more than vote and you saying that isn't good enough is just discouraging those already struggling to just give up. Anything anyone can do to fight back is good enough and voting is fighting back so therefore is good enough. More is better but voting is enough.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This. we need to vote like our lives depend on it and prepare for the lawsuits and anything else that smarter people can come up with to do to counter rigged machines. But not voting because he’s doing to rig it will mean he’ll win without rigging it

It's not about him. He is a puppet. It is the puppeteers that need to be voted out.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I assume they’ll be assaulting people at polling stations in November. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they nabbed people or even shot someone again. They might even want publicity to try to scare people away.

Trump should be in prison for January 6th. Mitch McConnell and Republicans betrayed the country.

I get Biden wanting to move forward. But he didn’t realize what an evil criminal Trump was.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s sad to say if some members of congress were actually killed by the mob, things might be different.

Republicans obviously don’t care about the Capitol Police.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Vote.

You MUST vote.

No excuses.

If you don’t you will vote actively to keep him being your dictator.

If you still lose doesn’t matter. Not fighting is losing before the war begins.

2 weeks ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

DO NOT COMPLY IN ADVANCE. That is what fascists rely on. They will lose much sooner the more dirt that gets put in the gears of the machine. And they will lose sooner or later, it's all a matter of how soon everyone starts fighting back.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Truth. "Giving Up" is an automatic win for fascism. Democracy demands courage and participation.

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I already voted in my state's primary, and I plan to vote in November... But I'm also acutely aware that my vote will likely not matter, cuz musk and trump WILL be stealing the election.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for voting. Let's not give up before the elections occur. Keep Voting. Keep believing in your Rights. You are not alone.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well Isaiah is pointing the stuff out, he's also one of the people that is in support of funding Israel. When Dems like him are supporting genocide, that's just another branch of fascism. Democrats are still our best hope at this point but something has to change in the Democratic party.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It honestly stuns me that people are still talking about ''voting'' as if it means a fuck in the US where everything is rigged and bribed with money. Some people really still don't grasp that they are literally in a dictatorship. It doesn't matter if there are still democratic branches of government. The fascists control the country and people are still talking about voting like it is this magical get into jail free card.

But I guess on the internet people can still live in their bubble

2 weeks ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 28

It's the same reason they talk about the stupid pool and all the others. Distraction and copium.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Of course voting matters, but it's only one of the powers we can exercise as citizens. We also have the power to assemble in protest, the power to choose where to spend and where to deny our money, the power to stand in solidarity, and the power to tear the whole structure down and start over if we so choose.

All of these powers are potent, but depend on large numbers, which is why defenders of the status quo try so hard to fracture us into smaller and smaller groups.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You should still vote. But you should also do anything and everything you need to protect yourself and your loved ones and neighbors. Its not mutually exclusive. Show up. En masse. Cause everything that is happening to that poor woman is coming soon to you.

2 weeks ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

I didn't say voting doesn't matter, but the reality is that voting is not the powerful mechanism people pretend it is in the US

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Vote first.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nope, voting is no magical cure. And it's not enough by a long shot. But it is the bare minimum. If nothing else, use the obstacles they put in place as training ground for what else might need overcoming soon. Don't tell people not to vote - tell them voting is the very least they need to do.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Voting is "rigged" because people been sold this ass-backward notion that if we vote ONCE every few years then, magically, not rigged.

That's the "bubble".

2 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Fuck you. Any effort to discourage voting is abhorrent. It's a fucking pathetic and manipulative attempt to equivocate the parties. Fuck you.

If voting doesnt matter, the regime wouldnt still be fighting so hard to hinder it... Including social media trying to say it doesnt matter.

Voting matters in as much as there's still a chance to swap from republican to democrat. However, the problem is, the vast majority will still be shills for Israel, and none of them have any real plan on how to walk back to the damage done.

Thinking shit will be solved in one election cycle is flawed thinking too. You make the best with what you are provided and continue to move forward. The US hasn't slid so far to the right in one election cycle so it won't go back to the left any quicker than that too. Taking steps in the right (left) direction is what needs to be done consistently for decades. Reinvigorating the idea that voting is extremely important and an immutable responsibility of every US citizen is where it all starts.

This is a bad way of thinking about it. This is why local elections are so important. You need to remove their support and put better non-aligned people in power to oppose them at every level. Especially when we have progressives actually getting work done at those lower levels it exposes the do-nothings.

If I were building bots to interfere with elections, I would build them on an algorithm that disenfranchises people through fake accounts on social media and meme sites to further push extremism. Phase 2 would be to push a rhetoric about voting not working so just dont do it. "Stand up to the system by not partaking in it." All the while, pushing the oposite narrative on the party I wanted to actually vote... The result would be it doesnt matter if it was rigged or not.. you didnt vote.

That is to say - you sound like a bot. And anyone advocating for NOT voting is some combination of lazy, corrupt, malicious, or stupid.

They may not be a bot, but they're probably getting up voted by bots. Then, the next wave of people who are taken in by voter apathy propaganda is a little bit bigger, and the bots can latch on to their opinions. And so on...
