Was McConnells power usurped? My recollection was that he retained his power up until 2024 after the two public reboots in 2023. At which point the Republicans basically gave Trump appointees free reign over the party. I'm not suggesting foul play.

He's old and he has a history of health issues, an increasingly active history. He had a major health incident where he lost consciousness recently and word is that that event has left him brain dead due to how long he was clinically dead. Brain needs oxygen and even if you revive someone, the longer you go without oxygen the worse it is. Some people say he went 3 minutes without oxygen going to the brain which is pretty bad fucking news.
