Sabbath gig taking over Birmingham this weekend

I met Ozzy during his snorting ants and drinking piss phase. I'm pretty sure that even Ozzy didn't know he was Ozzy that day.

I've always said I love to see rockers just being human ... James Hetfield in dad-shorts and socks/sandals while he's out with his kids? Fuck yeah, gimme that shit. Rhianna telling interviewers that she doesn't have a nanny because she WANTS to spend time with her kids? Epic. Even seeing Ozzy tottering around like an old fogey on The Osbournes, was kind of weirdly endearing. Like, yeah, the Prince of Darkness is a human being. I dig it.

The only redeeming thing Sharon has ever done is help Kneecap go viral.

From the sounds of it, she also helped Slipknot get fame, and that seems good too?

I went to Ozzfest '99 twice. Got to see Black Sabbath, Primus, Rob Zombie, Slayer, System of a Down, it was a *hell* of a show.

I did see Slipknot on the second stage. I didn't care for them. Still don't. But every time I see Corey Taylor speak about something, I get the impression of someone who's incredibly passionate about what he does and I'm always glad when someone like that is able to enjoy success in life even if I don't share their specific passion. He was also really enjoyable on QI.

I love all the bands you listed, but god DAMN would I love to see Primus live. Wicked bass beats.

It was Primus feat. Buckethead, so bonus.

I was at Ozzfest ‘01, 2nd row center. A neighbor friend’s dad worked at Johnson Controls. She didn’t like rock music. 70 bucks for 4 tickets, my girlfriend, my older buddy & his friend. I got to drink beers when I was 14 & Rob Zombie stepped down & took my chair to sing in the crowd. His boots were foam rubber horror mask material w/ the Nike logo. The drunk lady in front of me had her hand on Blassko’s bass. The bassist from Drowning pool shook my hand and gave me a signed pick. It was awesome.

One of many reasons I loved Corey Taylor for doing his own thing, the ability to do fun shit like this.

My grandmother won me a pair of tickets and backstage passes to see Ozzy once. https://bikerjedi.substack.com/p/grandma-won-me-tickets-to-ozzy-osbourne
