To interlock the layers of concrete. Each layer has to set for around 15-30 minutes (depending on mix, thickness, temperature...) before it can hold the weight of the next layer. It's not one single pour into a mold (that would actually be very weak because there is no reinforcing material in the cement). Each successive layer fills in the wavy lines left by the last layer. Like building with legos vs just 2x4s on top of each other

CNC concrete "form" assembly would be SO much more efficient. Pour all the concrete at once, and the whole wall(etc) can cure at all the same time. Forms preclude concerns about Slump, and proper design can include channels (even removable) for internal routing.

One truck load of concrete is like $600 in my area lol... 9 cubic yards. This thing could probably stamp out a 1 bed, 1 bath studio style apartment in a day for $8000 and we'll still have a housing problem because someone will stamp a $60,000 price tag on it.
The frame and sheathing, maybe... Frame is the least expensive part. I just looked up our costs for a 1000sqft addition to our house. The lumber pack for the frame and subfloor was HALF the cost of the window and door pack, and only about 85% of the cost of the truss and roofing pack. And that's before plumbing, electrical, HVAC, interior walls, flooring, finishes... Total costs (no labor, built it myself) was around $120,000 finished, and only about $4,000 of that was the lumber pack.
Land, permits, development fees, materials and labour for all other utilities and trades to finish the home, profit margin for the developer/builder unless you're running point yourself... there's a lot more to price in than concrete.
I watched a video about it a couple years back, if the climate is right for it they can get the skeleton of a 3b/2ba house done in a day. But it is really just skeleton. They have to come back and run utilities, frame a roof, insulate, install doors and windows, etc. Still the whole house can be finished significantly quicker than traditional.
But weather can really fuck with the concrete curing process so it isn't ideal in all climates.
