ITS MY CAKEDAY

Jul 2, 2026 11:10 AM

I lurked on imgur for years but only signed up to comment and post shortly after my transition started. Imgur changed a lot during that time too, and has slowly become a far more welcoming place too. When I started posting stuff here I was I think the only out trans woman here (a couple of posters who were *totally cis and just wearing skirts for the bit bro* have come out since then and are awesome), but now it seems that every other poster here is trans. Which is, y'know, cool.

July 2018 - Existing but not living
July 2019 - Early months of transition, facial changes not yet started, rocking a cheap wig
July 2020 - Facial changes in play, but also a ton of makeup and oh boy was my bra padded. Two padded A cup push-ups worn simultaneously plus boob tape plus breast forms plus makeup.
July 2021 - Pandemic Chic. Far less makeup, body I was finally getting comfortable in.

Today (Well, actually a few days ago). Only makeup is eyeliner nowadays. I'm comfortable in my body, like who I am, and am actually living not just existing.

I'm not sure if imgur will still be around in another seven years, but if so I'll likely be here too.

FP edit: I started my transition in my 40s, it is never too late to start living.

You look so much happier!
Really glad that you're in a good place now.

Stay the course friend. Imgur will likely be just a hollow shell by that point, but worth sticking around for the core peeps.

I don't know about imgur still being around long but I was a longtime lurker and then I saw people like you and other trans people post stuff too and for me it's a reason I stuck around. So thanks for being here

Giving me hope for my face, seeing your transformation!

Oh you have a much better starting point than I did!

Look at this shit! This is great! Someone living and being comfortable in their body and with themselves is fucking awesome! Congrats to you, lady! I am truly happy you are living not existing now. I will never understand transphobes and people who don’t want other people to be happy with themselves. Rock on, sister.

Chrissake, girl. You got hit hard by the titty gods. Am I ever envious.

Do you still need padding for your bra

4 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Nowadays I have trouble finding ones big enough.

And here I am, at 37, in the same state before you started.

You can do it Raine!

Thank you for sharing, I finally started 2 months ago at 34 and seeing success stories like this is inspiring <3

I've never seen anyone's transition photos where they didn't look happier at the "now" stage of it. I'm always so glad to see trans peeps being their best selves. Keep being awesome, and I hope to see you around imgur for a long time too <3

That's my favorite part of seeing people's transition photos. You can always see how much more comfortable and happy they are after. I'm just a cis white guy but it sure does put a smile on my face to see someone really enjoying becoming who they are inside.

I didn't know true happiness until I transitioned. Before then my emotions had a ceiling on them, I could be very depressed and wanting actively to end it all, or my mood could lighten to merely slightly depressed and simply waiting for death. Now I can finally FEEL. That's not to say every day is sunshine and rainbows but I can now cry, laugh, feel joy and all the other parts of being human instead of just being a placeholder.

Same. I only understood feeling good as the bad being less bad. Now i actually feel alive

I’ve only ever seen one, and it was a *long* time ago. It’s amazing just how much better it makes people feel.

For those coming by later - a long time ago means about 20 years in the past. And that person mildly regretted surgery, but absolutely did not regret the rest of their transition.

Today I learned something, If I had known you in 2018, I would have said "You'll never make a good-looking woman". I would have been totally wrong, you've become gorgeous, and I've learned I cannot predict how successful the physical side of a transition might be.
I'm glad for your happy new life!

Yay, you! Love seeing Trans folks "after" pics, y'all just look so much happier! ❤️

Holy crap! What a transformation!!! Awesome job!!!

Éstrogen and orchiectomy did the heavy lifting.

Hormones are flat out magic

4 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I applaud your courage to go through with that. It took some balls.

...I'll see myself out.

That 2018 guy was lookin a little rough

4 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Right? 'He' needed a hug and a reason to care about 'his' body.

Home grown (with store bought hormones).

4 weeks ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

If you can't make your own hormones, store bought is fine. Congrats on becoming more you!

4 weeks ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

They are humongous. As a cis woman a bit jellies but im very happy for you 😊

4 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

O-cup and somehow still growing. Finding bras is the devil itself.

4 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh that's indeed hard then! Mine is so standard it'd always sold out :| guess there are difficulties for everyone out there. I hope for you they stop growing so you can shop easier 😀

4 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I get so happy seeing the sparkle come into your eyes. In 2018, you were suffering through a chronic hormone deficiency and in hindsight, it shows.

Nobody would bat an eye at me taking birth control or getting hormones to freeze my eggs or a guy getting a vasectomy because he doesn’t want kids. Thanks to people like you, I have real hope the next generation grows up in a world where we say the same thing about transitioning.

Oh yeah, in 2018 I had the cold dead eyes of a 'man' facing an endless grey existence. If I had a time machine I'd go give past me a much needed hug (and inject 'him' with éstrogen, the poor hormone deficient bastard).
