The rector speaking at a graduation, here in Quebec, made the point that the new universities, with low tuition, were graduating a lot of students and that it was the best way to prevent Trump-like leaders getting elected here. We still have some terrible politicians, but maybe things won’t get worse.
Summer Lee is nice to have as a representative, just wish all the people that live in Cranberry yet work in the city could keep their awful opinions of her to themselves. Fuckers don't even live in the big scary city full of perceived crime and have plenty of shit to say about her, considering their proximity to Butler and Westmoreland counties it isn't hard to guess their views.
Despite how hard these fuckers are making it, that seems to be making the kids more determined then ever to learn. I don't want to get my or other people's hopes up, or place the burdon of hope on entire generations, like the older ones did for mine, (who massively dropped the ball by electing fuckhead), but the kids in grade school, high school, and recently graduated, are more in tune with the problems than WE of the X, ever were.
Democrats have been working hard on this for the past few decades, too. They were more than happy to follow the Gates Foundation in advocating for stealing from public schools in order to dump a bunch of public money into private companies running charter schools.
Not as directly, maybe, but this isn't something that just now happened under Trump; it's been going on for a very long time under both Republicans and Democrats.
If they’re not educated enough to figure out what the real problems are, they’ll fall back to relying on old stereotypes that never went away, like think immigrants caused problems they didn’t create or even make worse. Racism, sexism, and homophobia or transphobia will be behind every decision
That shit is already behind every decision. Has been for a very long time now, it's just that straight white men are noticing it too now. They don't go after the group's that are hard to attack first, never have. We need to stop dividing ourselves and push back unified against the real enemy, old rich white men.

But man, I really hated how he always played it like both sides were equally bad. His candid disdain of Donnie plus some other things he said publicly in the past, sometimes made me think that he was just keeping his audience as broad as possible, and was quietly or privately more progressive leaning that he led on. But that could be me just trying to sugarcoat it. 🤷♂️

Agree on his consistent critique of FASCISM. Problem is that while at times he'd draw lines between 'em, a lot of the clips circulating for years now, are his blanket statement of G0V —which are too often used by "Enlightened Centrists" or C0Ns to justify #BothSides BS. Plus he also had a penchant for promoting: Not Voting
