Is it? Iirc you enter through the high point and then go down. I don't remember noticing anything about the air (and I remember I forgot my sunglasses at the gas station on the way there) Or maybe there's a higher point further in? I didn't have time for any of the longer hikes
You are not always going to notice how thin the air is if you're not exerting yourself. Without a pack and going down hill if you're young enough you probably won't notice anything. At 46 years old and a former smoker I did the Alpine Lakes loop in WY 2 years ago. It was all above 10,500 feet and I sure as hell noticed it lugging my pack around the mountains for 3 days.
This was on my list of amazing places to visit when I returned to the US, but I don’t think that is going to happen unless a lot changes about the US government.
Bryce canyon, arches and Zion are the big attractions here. There are a lot of historical sights to see here. Escalante trail, golden spike, topaz mtn internment camp, anasazi state park (should not be called that but whatever), an interesting museum in fillmore from its time as the capitol of the Utah territory not much else to see there though. You could go to the 4 corners but the marker is wrong.

Like you may as well view a photo of it, unless you can get a tour down into it, like a horse or boat ride. Otherwise, I'd recommend Bryce and/or Zion over it!)
Close to 20 years ago, I went to Bryce for a week or so, amazing experience. My first time in the desert. Woke up before sunrise in the campsite and hustled to the canyon to snap this photo of Thor's Hammer. I'd love to go back one day.

I love Bryce and I love Zion. Zion's the most beautiful place I think I've ever seen, though the Alps in winter are really, really close.
