My husband and I have been together for a decade now. We've seen it all and come through things still loving one another, and looking forward to the days we can look back on the bad times and go "well damn, that sucked" gets us through a lot of the worst.

Hell, these days your getting at least 2 out of 3 from everyone.

Better poison their dinner early on, yeah. The Chicks got a whole song about what happens if you wait 'til you're deep in the marriage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gw7gNf_9njs

Having your car break down in a foreign country really quickly shows how someone handles stress. That moment I fell in love all over again with my now missus. Right there we just went into full teamwork mode.

Dealing with the death of a loved one. Moving forward but I've had problems with staying present. Getting lost in thought. They don't say so but I know it's hard on the relationship. Talking to me and I don't hear them because nobody is home at the moment. I'm so glad they understand that I'm not ignoring them... It's not on purpose but it just keeps fucking happening and I don't notice until I'm.... waking up from it?

Even then, you some know. I am up front about being a complete disaster. I couldn't hide it even if I tried. Maybe if I found someone kind, willing to really give me love I'd be more.

1.) Won't matter, already poor.
2.) Your odds of killing one I'm not close with (because they are Maga asshats) is high. So go for it.
3.) Will you be taking care of me and helping me recover? Yes? Then total score. No? Then just another normal week of feeling like shit.

Not seeing a downside to this if some woman would like to get to know me...

To put it more simply: Don't pop the question until you've seen them stressed out or hurt.

Instructions unclear. Proposed while she was crying and the whole Olive Garden just feels super awkward.

My ex fiancee moved out when my AC broke down. I didn't ask her for money and yet she nope'd out of my house really quick. That showed me everything I needed to know, we broke up soon after that.

The last one's easy: bring them to a McDonalds that has Donald Trump working the fryer XD

You can fast track this by going on an overseas trip with them. Try to include air travel, train/bus travel, having to met a time schedule and having to wait in line at customs etc.

That's why you should find a manic pixie dream girl who never has those problems, and exists just to fix a hole in a man's life.

I watched my ex-wife struggle financially and get very sick. Married her, still ended up divorced. People change, and these aren't the best metrics for how much they can change.

Husband and I have been through all 3 several times over - that's when we seem to get closer than ever.

My husband and I haven't been through death of a loved one yet. Not looking forward to that one, our parents are all in their 70s and 80s. I mean we've lost grandparents but they weren't as close.

It can be a very challenging time. My father, his mom, one of his brothers, multiple grandparents, and an uncle who lived with us. It's a difficult time and carries Shockwaves for much longer than you'd expect.

where are the pixels?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

#1 if all goes according to plan, you only have to do it once

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe a few more paint.exe upscales from lower resolutions and we'll see individual pixels.

I mean it's true. It's easy to love somebody while they're happy, fresh, exciting, well-dressed, smelling good, showing you a great time. It's harder to love somebody when they're scream-sobbing at you and projectile vomiting. But if you can get through THAT, you have formed a strong relationship.

Shortcut: travel to a developing country and eat plenty of street food.

Did you date Linda Blair?

Having to pay for everything because your SO lost their job can wear on you a bit. Especially if they don't acknowledge it, or expect it.

That's why I make sure to constantly struggle with mental illness. It's called being upfront.

It's REALLY hard to meet people who are scream-sobbing and projectile vomiting.

That's why getting piss-drunk is such a great date idea!

Now you know why people go to bars or music festivals. Highest chance of either without massive personal drama attached.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Nah. They're pretty well incapitated and not moving much. Super easy to meet.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why? I'd think they'd really stand out in a crowd.

Camping trip is a good test, I have heard.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Thaaaats higher risk…. Camping prep is a really good warm up…. If you *know* how to prep and they’re not on board with being compatible or agreeable to help, it’s at least one very fast part of the test. If they have better ideas and you want to support, that’s another revealing part.

My now-spouse and I went on a trip around the east coast of Canada, about 6 months after we started dating. We rented a car, brought camping gear, and mostly played it by ear. Camped in 4 different provinces, long days of driving, stopped wherever it looked interesting. I think that trip made it clear we worked well together.

To add to this horror movie plotline: she never knew he did ANY of this, even after they got married. He never told her. She found out the same time we all did; when he revealed it on live TV.

Still married?

According to wiki, yeah. Controlling abusers rarely let their victims go.

Also not-so-fun-fact: he said that his wife secretly voting for Kamala would be "same thing as having an affair." Which he did to his previous wife with his current wife.

My father said of my mother who has fairly advanced Parkinson's, "I wish she would exercise more." Conveniently forgetting her walking has become so bad she looks like someone with Palsy when she starts to walk. Conveniently forgetting even her morning walks take so much out of her, she basically is chair bound the entire rest of the day.

Fuck my dad. All my homies hate my dad.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe your dad is really saying "I wish she didn't have Parkinson's"?

No, he's just a clueless asshole.
