Some of these memes are true originals that I made. Let's bake this bread.

Trigger warning: there is a picture of the frozen body of Ötzi the Iceman in situ, and, uh, Minoan/mycenean fashion. If you know, you know.

Edit: crap, forgot to move last meme to have standard closing image in the right space.

I've posted this meme before, and I probably will again because it is probably one of my absolutely top 100 favorite memes ever.

"Hey, listen!" In Proto-Indo-European.

Mycenean and Minoan fashion was some wild shit.

Bronze-age Pippin tax.

Today's message from Pippin: "peekaboo pickle."

______
1) Are you on the run to a safe place and passing through Arizona on your way to safer grounds? My apartment is open to you to crash at, and it is a safe space. Pippin and I will make you a meal and gladly share tea, wine, or mead with you.

2) Hey! If you're a woman or minority in a STEM field in Arizona living north of Phoenix and you need new headshots for this website or another detailing your experiences/research/accomplishment because our monstrous regime has deleted your experience from an official government website, PM me. Pippin and I have a good Nikon DSLR, and we'll do the photos for free, and, uh, you'll get to meet Pippin, I guess?

(If you know someone who could use this who's not on Imgur, feel free to PM me to get my email address for them and tell them they're free to message me.)

3) Take your meds with a full glass of water, please. Do it for Pippin, or Space Mom, or better yet, do it for yourself.

4) Ĝefeloað wē. We will carry on.

5) all funds from the sales of items at these two links will be sent to support charities aiding to fight for Trans rights in the US (not just T-shirts!)

Bonus reveal of my Bronze-age character/costume. The Genesis of the idea was basically "a Bronze-age version of Radagast from the Únětice culture". His name is Φatarkarantz Θömāltealbīz ("Bird-Friend from Pömmelte-on-the-Elbe" in a combination of Proto-Celtic and Proto-Germanic)

Pippin had fun hanging with me as we attended the opening of a new local wine tasting room.

Oh dang fresh Cody post? Hell yeah *sips coffee with increased enjoyment*

#6 most tavern bar things would be dark I'd think. Probably a joke of how everyone who comes in, anyone who comes into the bar, wants to open a window for light. That's just me imagining a cute story for it.

#45 I'm sorry, that's not supportive clothing at all! And I'm supposed to leap bulls in that getup? I'm gonna be looking like I'm frantically waving for help and I don't mean with my hands...

These are quality memes. Not like that guy who gave us rocks painted to look like quality memes.

#3 And some of the oldest names we know were house managers and the like, because they had their names on lists like these.

#6 My guess is that it's an allusion to a song/story/news item that everyone was aware of but was not important enough to be written...in short, a meme.

Solid dump, again!

#3 that's just a ledger.

#33 This looks like a Skyrim screenshot, clipping through the ground and all

#6 I love if this turned out to be a meaningless pun. Imagine if a future archaeologist's first representation of today's humor were "a man walks into a bar and says ouch" or "two men walk into a bar, but the third one ducks"

Did these people worship aquatic fowl?

One of the most robust sounding theories I heard relates to dogs being guard dogs and now he can't see anyone trying to get in because he's on the wrong side of the door. Also, there could be a typo as it was found in a collection of proverbs that scribes apparently used for practice, they seem to have been copies of copies of copies

I do love me some Bronze Age Tamarian-style memes.

#36 Really crazy how they got "Pferd" from "h1ekwos".

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I’m not a linguist, but it looks like ‘pferd’ is derived from a Latin term for “riding horse” as opposed to “war horse”, which in Latin would translate to “extra/side horse”, which used the Greek prefix “para”. It might eventually derive from *h1ekwos but tbh I need to get off the toilet and can’t do more looking. https://www.etymonline.com/word/palfrey

re Minoan "fashion" - If you're in a garage & see pics on the walls of topless women, would you surmise that all women go around topless?

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Admittedly, no. It does seem to be a thing amongst the elites, as far as my understanding of the evidence goes.

Arthur Evans really shaped our idea of Minoan culture. As for Schliemann, he needed funding and I can understand his "I have gazed on the face of Agamemnon" spiel.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My character does. I, however, live in Arizona.
