I have one with an AMD CPU, an intel GPU, running linux, streaming windows games from steam to my apple TV with a playstation 5 controller.
I know where their tech skills really are when I hear their response to what I built.

FX9370 CPU and Dual R9 390, that fucking thing pulled 900w from the wall at max load xD Gotta love AMD! Later swapped the FX9370 to an i7 4790k, then the 2 R9 390s became a 2070 Super and now im running that 2070S with an i7 10700k :D Need a new GPU Soon™ its starting to show its age

Exactly. I swapped my Intel for an AMD and kept the Nvidia GPU. I mean, sure it kept crashing, but then I got an AMD GPU and it was just as unstable, nothing to do with the Nvidia card after all!

I mean that's kind of just the expected build these days. Intel botched multiple generations of CPUs in a row and the 3D v-cache tech that AMD developed is fantastic for gaming. Meanwhile, AMD's GPU drivers are *still* dogshit (I would know, I have a 6800XT) and now NVidia basically owns the entire GPU market for consumer, workstation and data center applications

I have had both types of GPUs. But only ever rocked an AMD CPU. Just upgraded to the last AM4 chip, so I didn't need to try and find DDR5 or update my motherboard.
So a 5800x3d and a 3080. I'm hoping not to need to upgrade again for a bit.

Seeing as CPU increases are less and less relevant and that GPU is still good, i think you'll be fine.

Yeah. I wasn't too worried. I just replaced my 3600x, since I was rebuilding my dad's PC (who doesn't game or need anything major), and had everything else just kinda laying around.

I've been running a 5900x for about four years, and have no plans to upgrade until the ddr6 platforms mature. The 5xxx is such a good cpu series.

Honestly looking at the improvement in percentage, the cost/value hasn't at ALL increased since the 3xxx series.
Similarly, Intel hasn't made big strides in computing. In a hot minute

The controller still works great with PC even if the console is dead. I personally still have two stock 360s and a modded one that all work so they are still going strong

I got one for free a few years back with the Red Ring of Death. Took it apart and baked the motherboard in the oven for 3h and it ran fine after that xD

I have a first gen x360 that came with no hard drive. Still running, no red ring. I should get another variant just in case. I still have a backlog to go through

X360 originally sold as a "core edition" as a budget version. I was still a student with limited budget. I regret not shelling the extra money for a hard drive. But it is what it is

No worries bud. It was a bs version, not Microsoft's only only. They later on sold a Forza bundle with a HDD that was too small for the patch to fix the game.
