Well to be that guy, with the amount of anti trans rhetoric, the proliferation of mass shooting, and the increased amount of drag queen story hours, the chances of a mass shooting event happening at one seem significantly high. The answer to your question is more complex. But suffice it to say that children are always enamored with characters in fanciful and unconventional attire and manner. Adults as well. If anyone is willing to volunteer their time and energies, and be able to better engage children in an attentive reading than can be had by some stuffy library docent, it will simply fit with the other media entertainment they are exposed to and probably be better presented.

I'm pretty sure if my kids were killed in a school shooting I would go murder a republican congressperson. I'm not a violent person, at all, but I can imagine that it would break me and I'd want to hurt the cause of my pain. I'm surprised someone hasn't done it yet.

The red-hot, blinding rage I feel towards those figures would be motivation enough for plenty of unbalanced and dysfunctional people, and I'm just observing from the other side of the planet.
