Not sure how well they tracked license plates in the 30s/40s....we always think of stuff that's obvious to us today:) Sometimes it wasn't as obvious!

This just reminded me of a dream I had last night where I had found an old camera that had film in it from one time when my ex took pictures of me and my current (at the time) girlfriend having sex, and I was so sad but kinda happy because (in the dream) they had both died and this was all I had left. As I picked up the camera it disintegrated into dust and exposed the film, which just started unwinding in my fingers and exposing it further

The radio in the first photo dates it to 1939 or later- it has a tuning eye plus a slide-rule style dial.

I instantly thought about how people had to do their best to get the perfect shot, because they had limited tries. Developing film wasn't cheap. My mom would MAYBE let me take one photo with her camera so I didn't use up her film.

The branch device (left collar) looks like Signal Corps, but I can't make out the unit crest (lapels).
