Are there things we the Danes could do better for Greenland? Ofc there is, it will never be a perfect relationship between us, but to say that we do nothing is just simple wrong, what we have right now seems to work for both Greenland and Denmark and atm it looks like Greenland wants it to stay this way and be part of Denmark rather than join the US.

Absolutely. The reason the US has military bases all over the world is so that they can strike anywhere in the world at moment's notice. It has absolutely nothing to do with defense of the host country. The US military strategy has been offensive since WW2. It also puts them in a good position for retaliatory strikes as well. Look at Iran. This administration is incompetent at military strategy. I'll bet that if they actually try to annex Greenland, they will be defeated.

Not exactly. Trump lost the popular vote in 2016 but was saved by the electoral college--an organization that 1) actually elects the president & 2) is not obligated to respect the popular vote. Then in 2024, folks were so burned out with all the bullshit that only slightly more than 1/3rd voted for him, slightly under 1/3rd voted against him, & the remaining 1/3rd basically gave a "vote of no confidence in the entire system". 1/2

p.s. In 2016, Trump lost the popular vote by 2.1% but the electoral college gave him the presidency. In 2024, Harris lost by 1.5% & the electoral college, again, gave the presidency to Trump. In other words, the US does not have fair elections & is a "democracy" in name only.

We spend roughly 500M $ a year on Greenland, in grants and supplementary spending for things like Policy and Defense. (Which incidentially is around 40-50% of Greenlands annual budget)
Not only that, does this fucking dimwit knucklesandwich understand how oceans work ? Does he think that if the US even could take over Greenland, he could somehow force ships to stay away from the entire ocean around it ?

Let every European country close those bases (in the UK, not having those bases would have meant that a young man wouldn't have been killed by a reckless American that then fled the country, and was refused to be extradited to face trial).
