When this pops up, I cannot *do* anything, I cannot close the popup, I cannot use any links or buttons, all I can do is refresh the page & hope. Please Imgur, stop it. You are actively making your site unusable.

I'm not on my phone! I'm just in a portrait window. Imgur is actively trying to sabotage itself

In desktop Firefox I don't see this, because I've got tools in place to refuse that and similar page elements. I haven't yet done the same for my Android phone, so it's irritating as hell when this occurs. Until I do, I will try force-opening things in new tabs, as suggested.

They are trying to make the site worse than the app? Good luck with that.

This happens when you click on any links on mobile. Trick: Open the link in a new tab.

It pops up when I'm just scrolling, I make an effort to avoid putting my thumb on any ads

I wouldn't touch the app with a 10 foot pole. I love my ad blocker. I'm not gonna give it up, not for them anyway.

I was gifted emerald status years ago, never see ads.

I guess that's why I don't see that pop up....

Using a mobile, or desktop? Get behind the overlay, knocks down a lot of popups for me.

How do you do that. Asking for a tech challenged friend.

Mobile browser. This is the only popup, on sny site, I have an issue with. An blocker shouldn't be needed, I don't understand why this popup can't be closed..?

evil design. just shows how stupid the people behind imgur are. It makes me move away from the site, consuming elsewhere. Effectively helping against my imgur addiction. Good job pushing people away.

It's a 'feature', that improves app conversion for the website owners. More access to your data, no doubt - which can increase their 3rd party sales, and increase ad-revenue. You are the product. Eventually, resistance will be futile, and you'll have to find a new website.

Bad feature, it wants me to download the app but makes me want to do that less & less every time it interrupts me

Metrics say otherwise, or they wouldn't do it. Enough people cave initially, that people like you don't matter.
